Loved the modem bit - I remember that sound well. AT is the Hayes modem command prefix, D is dial, and T is tone dialing, as opposed to P - pulse dialing. Still in use on GSM modems :)

No the reason Mr Kilju didn't pay for those 9 first bottles because your supposed to only put one on the table so he can try, but you put an extra 9 up there becoming one with the first you put down.

I was using my 8088 PC back in 1990 during a rare coastal thunderstorm. Lightning struck the backyard about 20 feet away and the monitor turned to psychedelic colors. Both monitor and PC were toast. I am also going to clarify that the Internet has been around since 1969, but it was limited to protocols such as telnet, gopher, smtp & ftp. The Web came out in 94 so we had graphical browsing at that time ... although it was incredibly slow on a 28.8 modem.

I'm sure someone else has said this by now, but just in case: AT means Attention (as in, you're trying to get the modem's attention), if I recall correctly. D is for dial, T means tone dialing. My parents had pulse dialing (something which doesn't exist anymore, afaik) when I was a kid so I had to dial out with ATDP (P for Pulse) There were other commands you could do and they all started with AT as well. For instance, I remember using ATM0 to set the loudness to zero so I didn't wake my parents up when I was calling out at 1am. Also, for Kilyu (or however it's spelt), I feel like the brewing time is intended to be the cool down. He could make brewing time longer if he didn't want people to be able to run it as much. As for jail, you kept your booze. If you'd taken 6 or 7, you could make yourself pass out repeatedly and probably speed through that way. This was a really fun video. So happy MSC is a regular series for you again!

YOU CAN SLEEP IN PIGMANS SOFA!!!

I've moved the candle light, axe, coffepot/cup and fish trap from the lake cabin over to Pigman's house...It get extremely dark there at night. Stove works good for cooking fish. I also have a mobile phone mod so I can basically live at Pigman's house...it's a nice midway point.

Fun fact: the handshake sound in MSC is that of a faster speed than 4800. If I were to guess, I would say it's for at least 14.4k but more likely 56k (fastest dial-up speed before DSL/broadband). I had a Zoom external 12k modem.

Those old opperating systems brings back old painful memories trying to make it start without the instructions XD

AT = Attention (prefix to make modem listen) D = Dial T = Tone dialing (as opposed to using the older pulse dialing, IRL you never need this since you can set a default using modem settings) The command language is called "Hayes".

You have to wait with the Kilju until he samples the first and offers money. Then you can pile on the rest from the backpack and the money in his hand goes up. There seems to be a trigger zone on the table that converts the Kilju to empty cans as soon as he pays you. You can see the objects you picked back up were labelled differently in the backpack.

when squirrel goes to put the sofa in the back of the van, if you look on the roof, there is a grilled pike. lol

what bunkbed reminded me of the one i slept in the mandatory military training. Those bunk beds are pretty common here in finland, since they are cheap and pretty durable

i like to use the lantern originally located on the island in the cottage to light up my room before going to sleep, it works a lot better than the flashlight

Remember getting my first modem for my ZX spectrum then a few weeks later getting the £400 phone bill, my parents were not happy to say the least. Though to be fair my Mum phoned the phone company and said I did not realise I would be charged for using the modem, the phone company agreed to drop the charges. :D

it looks like the moment the killju drops onto the table, it issues the payment and the killju bottle changes to Empty. see the name of the item in the backpack mod when you pick it back up after you thought it was bugged. You did get paid for the items, as pointed out, tho.

It would be fun if you could build the computer in this game. And that you could select different kind of parts, and dosbox that emulates the hardware.

I remember one time I visited a website when I was a kid and my mum went crazy when a massive phone bill came through the post. I'd connected to a website on a premium line.

I wonder if he could integrate a player's dosbox to run from that computer. Then it'd be possible to play Street Rod inside of my summer car; which would be meta as hell, as street rod is basically the my summer car of the early 90s :) I spent half of my middle school days playing street rod :p

ahh this brings me back. i remember using this system. my first computer was a 2/86, probably around 8 mhz or something. but to accesss i think you would have to put a backslash. like B:\ to access. and to see the drive youd put dir/w. to go back would be cd\ i think dos was c:\dos\dosshell.exe i used to play kyrandia it was literally all in text. and tradewars 2021? i think. so nostalgic

i sill remember my first pc it was a microsoft 2010 and the fans starting up was so loud and i sill remember when youtube videos use to go up to 480p and this was in 2011 or 2012 because that was only when i could have a pc and a phone as a kid
