Rebecca I thought about you yesterday because I wore my Butterick 4659 pants to the store and this elderly lady raved about my pants. She was amazed that I made them. It was funny because pointed out all her favorite features of the pants like the linen fabric and the pockets. She called her husband over to check my pants out. Sadly she said that she purchased a sewing machine years ago but it's still in the box. Anyway, I love the fabric print at 6:55. I can't wait to see the final garment. I'm currently working on some flowy linen lounge garments to wear around the house since it's starting to get hot.

This is a very motivating and inspiring video. I love the tablecloths for making up clothing from. You are very talented and have all this figured out. I am so much slower with my plans and my sewing efforts. But I have so many clothes that I have worked hard to design and sew up, that all work together. I am working on a jean style jacket to make out of a loden green linen fabric to go with my cargo bottoms and capris. I am creating an intricate pattern made up from a ready to wear jacket I bought years ago. I am still working on the cuffs for the sleeve. The learning curve for the fit and style changes has been challenging and time consuming. I have made up four other jacket patterns for styles I liked. You think it would get easier. I have a lot of plants still left to get into the ground in my garden and we have such wacky weather. So, it's taking longer. I can't wait to get back to sewing on all my other projects too. I love seeing what you are doing. I sew alone but I don't feel so alone when I can connect with great seamstresses and educators like yourself. Thanks so much for your hard work and for sharing so much of it.

You would think it would get easier but the more you learn the more you want ( and know) to improve. I know I always have a sewing or style video on while I sew so I feel like there's someone with me while I'm creating. Thanks again!

Thank you for this! I've lived in Florida for 10 years now but still have problems figuring out where and what to make and wear. I live near St Pete and, fun fact,, it's in the Guinness book of world records for most sunny days and it's super super hot here because we dont' get rain. UGH. I've loved your vlogs because of seeing the style for us Floridians. Thanks again!

The Elisa Purple print is stunning! Would love to see your caftan made up in this fabric. When you mentioned growing marigolds for dyeing fabric, the latest Threads magazine has a good article on growing a garden for dyeing fabric. Another great video - many thanks.

Great video. Pamela’s Patterns Bias Cut Skirt pattern is my skirt TNT. It’s wonderful at bringing out linen’s best qualities, and I’m sure it would work well with your silk as well. It might be fun to play around with the bias cut skirt and the table cloths to get fun diagonal lines concentrated at the waist and then some more nearer the hem. You’d have to just experiment with pattern placement and either it will work or it won’t. Have fun in the sewing room.

I had to stop watching because the angle of lighting was nice but I could not see properly in the low light unless you stuck the fabric close to the camera.

Sorry about that. I film with my phone and it can be hard getting good detail shots- especially this time of year - in my filming space.
