I swear more often than not when I price shop it ends up in the trash and I end up buying what I really wanted to begin with. Didn’t know that about maxsh. You’re a big enough channel where that might leave a mark.

re: maxshine, i think alot of people just dont know.. When i started there was a local detail shop that i went to and the owner showed me how to polish, he uses and sells maxshine. At the time i had a chemical guys polisher that i wasnt crazy about, and i bought a maxshine from him to support him and the time he spent with me. Once i got more into detailing i started watching you and learned about maxshine and i eventually invested in Flex and Rupes polishers and I'm really happy with them. In the end i gave the maxshine polishers away, but this was only possible because i had the means to do so. In a world where there are alternative brands for every product made in china for less scratch, many manufacturers and consumers are in a race to zero. One of the things i like about the enthusiast garage industry is that literally everything is unnecessary, so we can all live in excess and make our own justifications. Thanks, Matt, for the coverage this year, i have a dozen or so products i want to check out thanks to you.

Hey Matt. I really liked your thoughts on the intellectual properties. I think you are right. Especially when those companies work with you towards monetary goals and creating something special and long lasting. Thanks for this series, I have enjoyed then all. And being Canadian I noticed Pan walking with you at the end of this video. Sell him some organization for his 😊tools. He could use it. 😂😂

Hazet may be exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I’d love an OG spec tool kit for my truck (not my wife lol)… Something like 300-500 of the most practical/necessary tools to keep within arms reach. i’ll keep waiting to see if we get it in the OG store.

Great coverage this year, thanks for sharing all the findings! Ending cracks me up looking like a basic girl walking around the hotel with the Starbucks 😂. Side note a co worker bought me something from there last time I was sick, it’s a combo of stuff that she said just ask for “medicine ball tea”… apparently they know what it is there. I was skeptical but it actually helped a ton and didn’t taste half bad. Hope the voice comes back soon!

This is not to defend, but to simply explain that the Chinese model of business is NOT anything like the historical US model of business. in general, the Chinese mindset is something like this "If I am able to copy or "steal" something of yours and get it to market, YOU are to blame for not stopping me." From a Western perspective, this seems crazy, yet it is how they work. Nieve US businesses (and for that matter the US government) that fail to recognize and put in policies to stop Chinese companies from doing this will suffer significantly. Our historical version of ethical behavior (one I subscribe to), basically the "Golden Rule" is nothing like the Chinese version. With that said, there is a breakdown of US business ethical practices too. I believe ethics is at the core of what our entire country is battling at this moment in time. Ethics matter....but, whose ethics matter more

Highly recommend one of those lasers, got 2 at work, which we use to cut MDF, acrylic, foam and leather, I most recently used it to cut custom foam inserts for my tools

I know Adam's has gone to the way side of pleasing the masses like Chemical guys. Did you find anything that stood out to you while visiting their booth? Once I run out of the Matte detailer that I use on my wheels I plan on switching over to Stjarnagloss Mork if it works better. I just used Matta which is a Matt Finish car wash last week and had a good experience!

Another problem with scaled down imitations of an established brand, they never quite live up to the quality of who they are trying to copy. Those "it's just as good as.." reviews look good initially. But so many people will get enamored with how much cheaper, their interpretation of reasonably priced, they don't see the long term value proposition. For ex wear and tear, probably much better customer service, overall diminished performance, less noise, better user experience, etc. Sometimes the difference in quality is apparent immediately, but to save a little some people lie to themselves.
