Great video. I've had my SKX007 for about 6 months now and I always go back to it when I'm not sure which watch to go for. It's earned that reputation!
The used to be under $200. Now $250-300. Once you wear one you realize how great they are. The case design fits the wrist so well. There are watch guys who have pressure tested these down below 200m. And they passed. Real watch guys know they are special.
Totally agree...I was pleasantly surprised, when I bought my 009 for fun, who solid it actually is...its overall very satisfying to wear. A more solid aftermarket bracelet transforms the wearing feeling though...for the better.
You are absolutely right you just fall in love with the SKX. I always find it funny when people say its spec isn’t upto par with today’s offerings. Well obviously this is an older classic diver now it’s like say a classic Ferrari just doesn’t stand up spec wise with a modern sports car. You don’t buy an SKX for the specs solely it’s for all the other characteristics that make it special. I’ve had my 007 and 009 for years on the super comfy stock jingle jangle jubilee. So glad I resisted the temptation to mod it like everyone was doing back in the day. I paid $180 for my 007 and $190 009 all from Long Island Watch. I now have a Breitling Colt 41, Rolex Explorer, Tudor BB58, Hamilton KK, Tissot Visodate and a few quartz Chronograph from Seiko and I can say there something very special about the wear , look , and feel of the SKX. It will never leave my collection.
The Seiko 7002 & SKX series aren't cheap watches; they are affordable and make note that there is a difference! IE. Seiko vs MVMT watches! MVMT are cheap shit!
I own this watch as well. I have a few very nice divers in my collection but the SKX009 is in a class by itself. I also have mine on a Strapcode 3D super oyster bracelet 👍🏻
I totally agree with your thoughts on this watch. My wrists are the same size as yours, and at first it felt a bit small. But it really isn’t, I just got caught up in the oversized watch trend I guess which I now see is starting to revert back. I have several divers in my collection, tudor bbb, ocean crawler, helson, etc… But there really is something very special about the skx009 on that jubilee bracelet, it’s super comfortable and really makes the watch pop. Time keeping on mine is exceptionally good, running at approximately +2/+3 a day, guess I got lucky. I often think to myself that perhaps this is the only watch I ever really need?, or the 007 for those who might prefer the more subdued/versatile look. It certainly catches my eye more than any of my other watches and I guess that’s what it’s all about right? Loved your thoughts on the watch and it’s certainly nice to know I’m not the only one that has a passion for this truly iconic, classic and almost vintage looking piece…👍
Oh is you based in Sweden? Me, I live in Hultsfred! ”Backstage to Hultsfredsfestivalen!😃😉👍🏻 What is your favourite watchstore here in Sweden? By the way, I just love my Seiko SKX009!!👌🏻😎I have modded it with a double domed Sapphire crystal!👌🏻😉 Great video!
Wound Up - Watch Reviews That’s great in Skåne - We got our youngest daughter in Höör/Hörby and she works at Skånes Djurpark, a Lovely Zoo to visit! So we visit her as much as we can! I guess you have watchstore in Malmö you visit often, anyone you can recommend? Take care Buddy, be safe!😉😎
@@torbensvensson2093 Såg inte din kommentar förrens nu. Trevligt! Det var ett tag sedan jag besökte Skånes Djurpark. När det kommer till klockbutiker i Skåne är de flesta i Malmö ganska bra. Men jag föredrar Engströms Ur i Jönköping, brukar åka dit när det blir nya köp :)
$250-$300 is not cheap sorry. Also for that money you can get Orient Triton with far better movement, sapphire, SEL, etc...But I do agree it has the X factor or charm, just not sure it's worth the $300 it's selling for right now.
