Laughing dove in Perth, Western Australia. His name is Bubba. Found as a chick on the ground without parents. Fed it via syringe "egg & biscuit" mixture.
You are the first person I have found to have a hand raised turtle dove. I hand raised a dove back in 2011 and I call it Bub. The baby bird was bought to me that blew out of a tree still in the nest. The dove is a real friend as I let it out to fly free and it just keeps on bringing stick in its beak and lands on my hat before flying up to a nest box I have put up in the shed.. I released it into to the wild which I thought was right but it came back next morning and has been here since.
I am in the same situation as u except when i found birb (his/her name) he/she had a brocken leg. Birb is still healing and is still a baby but can fly and eat seeds.
It is unfair to let her alone without another bird she can talk with him and live her her with ... her life is making nests laying eggs feeding kids . .... not just be to make your happy . It unfair to keep her without anything belongs to her kind lady .
just found one yesterday 2 weeks old and many others before but didn't Know they also exist in Australia thought they ate African birds Greetings from Egypt
Hi there...Any updates on Bubba? I have a pair that have laid outside my window and I want to adopt the offspring. Any suggestions on how to start? I don't wanna wait for the birdie to "fall out" of the nest before I adopt it, cuz its about a 30 foot drop, and it may not be lucky enuff to survive.
How did you tame him? I rescued a mourning dove in may 2012. And she was sweet and loved me when she was a baby and now 9.5 months old, she pecks hard and freaks out. Can you help me? I wish she was calm like yours!
