Today we discuss character traits, how my day goes in the classroom and why I missed my alarm clock.
Preparing for my Parent Teacher conferences in my classroom tomorrow! I'll be in the classroom from 8am to 8pm. (More like 7:30 to 8:30 would be my guess!

"Straight up had to roll out of bed and I put on some clothes and was like alright I'm ready! " That was completely awesome. We've all been there. I had one of those days last year and did not have time to do any eye makeup and one of my sweet boys said "Did you stay here all night??? Why do your eyes look all tired???" Precious child. 😑

I started using Class Dojo a couple of weeks ago in my 3rd grade classroom. I carry around an iPad mini and add points for positive behavior ONLY. I usually do this during transitions...lining up, walking in the hall, at morning assembly, packing up. It's hard to do while teaching, so I don't do it then. At the end of the day I pick a student of the day from who has the most points. I would like to see more parents sign up and be able to interact with their children and me.

I got the week off and what am I doing? Correcting papers and watching videos like yours! Next year my district is changing the schedule and we will be working Thanksgiving week. :-( I love love love your energy! I'm a veteran teacher but I still get ideas from you!

S88PD06 1hr? That's insane? Our kids can come in 10-15 minutes before the learning bell. We only get paid 5 hours as it is and often have meetings before/after school.

Aww. Thank you so much! I try and offer items on my store, unfortunately it is usually long after I have talked about them. I just takes time to have them prepared for sale...and most things only sell a few packets so it's not worth the extra effort. I usually do get them posted but usually on my own time table. I do have the data binder graphs available for 3-6th grade, but I still no K-2. Yay! I hope you love the palette as much as I do! It must be great to have the 2 hours to get the ELA component done. I start at 7:30, and between pull outs and specials, it seems as if I never get to or complete the work. The sheet in the data binder with the happy faces to track their work- is it available in your TpT? Have a great Thanksgiving.

I only teach ELA, my partner teacher covers Math Science and Social Studies. I still can't cover everything, it really just breaks the day down differently. The Level up sheet is not available on my store or Tpt yet. I worked on it with another teacher in my school, so I'm not sure if I will have it available for purchase. Enjoy your Thanksgiving as well! I am so excited for Turkey & Christmas! :)

I have my lunch which is 45min and I get a 40 planning period during their 'special' each day. When I was in Kindergarten I had two 30min planning periods, but I took the kids to lunch. So different, but the same :)

I received this as a gift from the PTO at my previous school. It is monogrammed with my initials, but no brand anywhere on the bag. It might be an apparel version of 'Things Remembered' - Sorry I can't be of more help.

You had swimming!? What grade do you teach? Is this a private school? I had to learn to swim at the public pool with a class through the city when I was 5 and I didn't have a pool at school until community college. Which I never used anyway, because by 18 the fun loving kid in me was mostly dead. Probably because I didn't get to swim enough as a young'un. Now I demand pools at every school!

I hope you find my other videos useful ;) I teach 4th grades at a public school. Every 4th grade class in the district has a 10 day period (rotating) in which we are bused to the High School for lessons. I do not teach the lessons :)

I'm just starting as a sub and your channel seems to be one of the best on youtube for teaching young kids. I hope you appreciate that your district provides for some swimming lessons at that age. One would think our kids deserve a well rounded education that includes things that most cultures would consider basic life skills like swimming. Sadly, it seems swimming is pretty optional.
