Your mom is amazing! Even though she's scared, she still respects the horse and is concerned for his wellbeing & wants to make sure she doesn't accidentally hurt him. This world needs more people like her.
I liked the part where she said she wants "the Jesse one"! My mom is the same, also scared but doesnt have anything agains horse riding, and still she doesnt like the use of a bit

Your mamma is THE bravest woman, ever! Can you imagine tackling your biggest fear with such grace and a smile? You couldn't have gotten my mother out in the pasture, let alone escort Chase into the barn! She fearlessly tackled everything you threw at her. That woman deserves the biggest hug from her son! And, Chase was such a sweetheart! Brava, mamma!
I actually like what she said: horses can feel if she's scared, and because they have a natural instinct to flee, or feel unsafe next to people who feel unsafe, they might react in any number of ways. I actually think she's very thoughtful and cares more about security around horses than many horsey people do, even though sometimes a little more safety aspects would be good :) So I actually really liked what she said :)

It actually seems like her fear is less about the horse hurting her, and more about her hurting the horse. You can tell how compassionate she is, and that's something where gaining experience and knowledge can really help. I think instead of starting out with things like tacking up, you might start with how horses communicate, how they are trained (i.e. to move away from pressure, etc.) so that she can better understand why she's doing what you are telling her, and how it won't hurt them.

Your mum is adorable! I feel a bit sorry for her though, I think it's easy to forget that actually working with a horse is not as easy and intuitive without experience as you might think, even if the person has watched a lot of people interacting with horses and isn't scared of them.
I kinda felt the same, she was very nice and brave by Matt was a bit rude, probably unintentionally because everything she “fails” seems obvious to him
@@harinu9339 I think it was fine, they know best how their dynamic with each other works and I think it’s just easy to forget how things you do nth times a day is not as logical and easy to others. Just makes it a bit frustrating for both sides to explain it.
Love your mom! 😂 Though as a veterinary student I can assure her that bitless bridles can be just as harsh, or even worse, as the horse has no muscle to protect them on their nose but just their sensitive skin and nerve endings.

Love your Mum! What a GENUINE and natural interaction for someone without horse experience. She is a great training tool for helping less knowledgeable people because she forces you, Matt, to check your assumptions. People who don't know, are aware they don't know how to interpret body language etc but experienced riders feel everything is soooo obvious. Well, it's not! Your Mom is amazing! To be that terrified of animals & to just 'go right in', halter, lead & work with the horse (an animal so big to her) is amazing! Aaah-Maze-ing! I think she was actually more afraid of getting her shoes dirty than anything Chase may have done to her! That was so funny!

This was especially hilarious for me, because her way of walking and talking is so similar to my mom when she's aroung my horse and in the muddy field :D and now it has come up to a point where I am unable to do all the chores around my horse alone, and she HAS to participate and help me. Last night she was mucking out the stable, while my horse was eating and minding his own business, so just as I went out to get something she screamed after me because I left her alone with the horse, although he didn't even move xD

I've met people who are scared of horses and they totally freak out!
