Michael is a Master 2 student in Chemistry and Bio-industries at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech.
For his final year project, he chose the theme of milk treatment by microfluidization, a method that reduces the size of milk molecules using a machine called a microfluidizer. This machine puts the milk under high pressure (1500 bar) and "filters" it.
This process, repeated several times, heats the milk to a very high temperature, which "breaks down" the microorganisms and helps to preserve the milk better.
