Remarks: 1. 90% of the school are Indonesians 2. All the teachers are German citizens. Only one has an immigrant background. 3. Typically there is a gender segregation in seating, but I suppose that comes from cultural memory than say the school telling us how to sit. 4. Till now, I have encountered "trolling" but there no bullies. Everyone will respect your boundaries. 5. Otherthan indonesians total of five Indians in the studienkolleg, 2 ukrainis. Except me, all other Indians are from north India. 6. Most people that one meets here are incredibly "passive", there is no guy or girl who goes around talking to all the people. 7. The indonesians often get handed down apartment from the previous generation of Indos at the studienkolleg. So, they're typically set from the get go. 8. They also go out together and function like a group. It is very difficult to get into this, and they often do not try actively include other people, however, maybe if you tried talking to them theyd allow you. However, I always had a feeling they were waiting for the time when the convo ends. 9. I do not know about the girls, but most of the Indonesian guys will respect you if you are studious. 10. I notice that many of the non Indonesian students also like to live in their bubble. I tried talking to all of them, many of them tell me they find it difficult to talk to the Indonesian students because of language difficulties., I personally believe, that one can, at the very least hold a conversation with them if one tries. Communication is a two way road afterall. 11. From me asking around, I find there is no one in my class who lifts, however there are people who claim they jog. Anywho, the school is on like a hilly area, so walking up and down hills is a part of the day. 12. Correction : talking to more people it seems that many didn't speed run in six mknths --- Clarifications: 1. Do I think it is this way virtue of the fact that my class is mostly of Indonesians? Ans: No. I believe that it would be same where it any other majority. I have a friends in karlsruhe and Munich, who both say they experienced same problems being in classrooms with majority russians. The one in Karlsruhe also went as far as learning russian, and still he couldn't get along. 2. What would I want different? A proper nationality quota and that only b2 certificates from Goethe are accepted. I would neither like it if my classroom in what should be an international place were full Indians.
