I disagree with u when it comes to Ferran. If Pau played on the left instead of Ferran we would‘ve won 4:1. U can see that in the mins pau had he made so much. With Ferran he lacks so much creativity like even Lewy can show sometimes how he can receive the ball and play that ball fast to other players with Ferran as soon as he is in the final third he wants to cut in and shoot and when he shoots the ball is not placed good enough.
Yeah I definitely get that. I guess my thoughts on Ferran are that Barca won’t sell him this summer, so I hope he can at least be used as a runner off the ball which he is decent at. Pau Victor should start over him next game tho he looked good when he came on! And in preseason he was one of Barca’s better players

Due to the fact that Ilkay Gundogan was left out of Barcelona’s squad for the opening game of the season against Valencia, this has led to reports that he wants to leave the club since apparently they don’t see him as an important player and even before the game there were rumors that they wanted to get rid of him. I am surprised with how his situation has played out at the club in the last 48 hours. The only reason why he wasn’t in the squad was because of a minor injury that he picked up during their game against Monaco. I get it, given their financial restrictions and the fact that their new signing Dani Olmo has yet to be registered by La Liga I understand that they have to sell someone so that they can balance out the books and lower their wage bill, but Gundogan is the last player that they should get rid of even though they’re the ones who gave him that contract when they first signed him and they agreed on it. They should find another player to sell in which they’re going to give them significant market value. Alongside Lamine Yamal, he was such a consistent performer for Barcelona last season and he was one of the rare players who was injury free throughout the season and it’s not just how much quality he has and him continuing to get better with age, in a young team, since he has a lot of experience, he is a leader in their dressing room. There were so many times last season where he was frustrated by the lack of fight and hunger from the team whenever they lost big games in the league or the champions league as he clearly wasn’t happy about the team’s mentality as a whole since this is a guy who has been used to winning for so many years. When he has been a key player on Manchester City for many years pivotal to their domestic success and won the treble in his final season at the club as their captain and Barcelona at the time really wanted to sign him, of course someone who’s one of the best midfielders in the world he’s going to be on a big contract where he’ll get paid a lot of money and despite his age, he clearly has a couple more years left in him as he isn’t declining at all. They have so much quality and talent in that midfield which yes that alone could be a sensible reason for why they want to sell him, at the same time, it doesn’t make sense especially when both the player and the club were the ones who gave him the contract in the first place. Hansi Flick said that “Gundogan is likely to stay at Barcelona” and many people hope that it’s the case for him, but I have a feeling that they won’t mind letting him leave especially if the rumors are true that he wants to return to Manchester City.

Ferran Torres’ performance against Valencia caused a lot of negative reactions among Barcelona fans and it’s clear that even before the stinker he produced, they had already lost patience with him and just like every transfer window despite the fact that it doesn’t usually happen, they want him to be sold. Seriously, it’s time to learn Arabic buddy. Anyways, I was actually surprised that he started that game, it felt as if Hansi Flick had no other choice but to play him. He went with a 4-2-3-1 starting Torres on the left wing, played Raphinha as a number 10, Lamine Yamal on the right wing behind Robert Lewandowski and he went with 4 attackers since that was one of the only other choices that he had given who he had available at his disposal. Dani Olmo had he been registered probably would’ve played even though he would come off the bench probably IDK, Pau Victor who had a great preseason there are people who would’ve him to start in favor of him, their failure to sign Nico Williams and a proper left winger meant that during the course of the season; they’re going to rely on him, he’s not going to be sold this summer even though some believe that he should’ve been sold 18 months ago. His performance against Valencia is exactly what we’ve seen from him for the most part during his time at Barcelona and why he hasn’t been able to win over the fans because as a winger at this level, he wasn’t able to take on his defender in fact it looked as if he was lacking confidence, he didn’t create anything impactful as every time he had the ball out wide he would either lose possession or play a backward pass and when he had that chance that he should’ve scored, he was offside before he was subbed off. He’s not a starter on the national team, but realistically speaking, he has been a better player with Spain than he’s been at Barcelona. This was a rare chance for him to impress and show Flick that he should be a big part of their plans this season and in their next game against Athletic Bilbao, assuming Olmo is registered, he or Pedri could play on the left wing or if he wants to use one of them as attacking midfielders he could play Raphinha on the left side. If they had Williams or someone like Rafael Leao Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Luis Diaz, there’s going to be a different element about their attack on the left wing. It’s easy to slander him for how poorly he played during that game, but this is a reminder that Barcelona are still lacking a proper left winger because Torres isn’t a terrible player in modern football players aren’t as bad as people think they are, he’s not good enough for a club of their size which is the reality of his situation and very soon, they’re going to get rid of him. The guy is more of a right winger not a left winger and obviously he can’t play there since Yamal is that guy and as long as he’s there and is fully healthy, he’s not playing in his natural position and unless we see a consistent level of performances from him, I don’t see him having a long term future at Barcelona because he’s had so many chances to prove himself yet every time he looks good, he regresses and goes backwards.
Balde is really key to shutting down the best opponent wingers 1v1. First half against AC Milan in pre-season, Milan were able to beat the wide defenders (Kounde and Balde did not play). Right now, there is no capable backup to Balde or, to a lesser degree, Kounde. I think Victor has a wider skill set than Ferran. Ferran should be a backup player only.
Agree with both points! Hector Fort seems promising but definitely not at the level of Kounde and Balde just yet so that is worrying. Alex Valle looked interesting in pre season, and it seems like Hansi likes that Martín guy at LB. Seems like a good passer but really slow and doesn’t add close to what Balde does. Hope he stays healthy he will have a great season
when de jong is back flick has to turn him into a cdm since we dont have a cdm and there arent any on the market and de jong will not be sold why not try to turn him into a cdm i mean busquets wasnt that good at defence but he still got the job done i think de jong can do the same and also de jong doesnt have an output on g/a so i think this is the best use for him with olmo pedri gavi and fremin playing in the cm/cam positions

I never had that feeling that Xavi believed in Ansu. Its really strange bc Ferran was always given a chance season after season where as with Ansu bc of his injuries and no confident of the trainer at that time they fucked him up. Now i really think with the playing style of flick Ansu will shine.

Honestly, I sincerely dislike influencers who always try to have a separate opinion about at least one thing to give them sort of a relevance. And this is your case with Ferran Torres. You know how bad he is, there is no way you don't see it. That dude loses all the balls no matter how simple or complicated the situation is, he can't win a duel in a match, he can't score from easy situations, he can't dribble, his movement is disgusting and his IQ is under the sea level ... with all of that you say you like him. A tick on the club's head that knows he is useless but he refuse to leave because he knows that no one would give the salary he earns in Barcelona. He has lost important members in club this and last year i think and then lost Alemany and hasn‘t replaced them well. Deco is the best example of this mess rn. We as Fan deserve much better especially when we have suffered the most. Yeah I understand that, I’ve said for the last few years that I wouldn’t mind Barca selling him but I just don’t think Laporta will do it this summer. So I was just trying to see the positive and hope that maybe we could get something out of him. If he leaves I will be completely fine with that and it would be nice to get back some of the money Barca spent on him
