Oh! My heart is broken for you! So awful that you lost your beloved sweater. 😢 We knitters really empathize with you! It’s not ridiculous to be devastated by this loss.
I can totally imagine how heart breaking the loss of that beautiful handmade cardigan must be, after putting in so many hours of knitting! And I am glad that you chose the best way to remember the cardigan, by recreating it in that gorgeous malabrigo yarn! I would love to use the mohair and nylon lace weight yarn to make the apples and arrows shawl, which is a lace shawl in lace weight yarn. I absolutely adore knitting shawls... Thank you for this opportunity!
Making another one is the best way to overcome the loss and pain. You are very sportive as I see. You have selected a very nice color. Its in my list of knits too.
Oh sweetheart, this is just heartbreaking. I really feel for you! You made the perfect cardigan and lost it. I completely understand how upset you were. I’m so glad to see you’re getting back on the horse and making another one. Champagne cardigan is on my list to knit next. It’s a beautiful, classic. I can’t wait to see your new one. Keep up the great work x
Hello Alexa. I am so sorry for what happened to your cardigan in the airport. I hope one day magic happens, and it flies back to you. The pocion yarns you got is really gorgeous. I cant' wait to see how beautiful your second champagne cardigan is gonna be. I would like to make a sweater if I won the yarns. thank you for the chance.
As a maker, you can always do another one as beautifull as the first one. You can do as many as you want, whatever you want, or not. And that's ok because you have the power of MAKING. ❤If it was ugly, no body would have kept it. LOVE FROM LISBON ❤
I feel so badly for you having lost your sweater before eaves wearing it. I once lost my felted mittens. I really loved them. I got thru it convincing myself that they were going to make a beautiful gift for whom ever found them. I have found gloves before and was delighted because they were icertoners which I had always wanted and couldn’t afford so I know how it feels to find something awesome.
Oh dear, I lost a sweater which was just a sleeve for completion on a bus and I was heartbroken. It was in a clear plastic plastic bag. I so feel your pain😢
This is heartbreaking 💔. I feel your pain😢. Maybe consider that the new home it found was a loving home and maybe a person who really needed a sweater knit with all that love. This is where I would go emotionally. All that said… I’m sorry this happened to you.
Sorry to hear about the fate of your Champagne cardigan - it was perfect on you. The time, money.... all those purls. Your second cardigan will be beautiful and I can't wait to see it.
I would have been gutted to loose a project I worked on and loved so much! 🥺 Glad you found the perfect yarn for a new one! I would love to combine that mohair with another yarn and make sweater #9 with that! It would be so rich! And that simple pattern would allow the yarn to shine!
Girl you made me stop knitting and completely feel your pain of losing your Champaign cardi! Your man is an absolute gem for helping you get back on that horse. Can't wait to see your new Champaign.
Hello fellow Florida knitter!! Your cardigan looks incredible on you, and you did a great job choosing a silhouette that looks great. Oh shoooot - I just got to the part about what happened to your cardigan :( SO sorry! That airport can be chaotic on any given day.
Hey there! I definitely want to recreate it, so thanks for saying it looks great 😊 I’ll definitely be more careful with my knits while traveling from now on
My heart breaks for you for losing your cardigan. With this yarn I think I would take your suggestion and use it with a cream color and make a champagne cardigan. I can visualize it.
I’m so sorry about your sweater. Did you check with lost and found? We got back my daughter’s hat once. I’d probably hold with a dk weight yarn to make the tin can flax sweater as my teen is obsessed with it.
What a tragic story, it hurt my crafty, little heart. So glad you are making new, even more beautiful one. Your story and project inspires me to make one of my own. I love the mohair you showed, and would make a Felix cardigan out of it. Thank you for sharing your story❤
Oh my! I'm so sorry your beautiful cardigan was lost. As you told the story, I just felt awful that you went through that. Your new one will be even more lovely! I've never used mohair, but the yarn in your giveaway is just gorgeous! I think I would pair it with a solid color and make a shawl or sweater out of it. Thank you for this giveaway and happy knitting! 😊
The MCN is gorgeous. My favorite colors. By the way I am glad I found your podcast. I have been crocheting and knitting for almost 60 years. Enjoy your journey.
OMG... okay, Im here to 100% validate your GRIEF about losing your cardigan. (My anxiety may have been triggered LOL!) Here are my thoughts: The emotional/financial/hours/anticipation investment that went into it.... it's a huge loss. I wasn't suprised that you selected a completely different (but GORGEOUS) yarn to cast on again. If you had gone right back to the neutral, you may have gotten burned out too soon (think Groundhog Day). You can always make another after your palate has been cleansed and the Malabrigo is stunning! Definitely reminiscent of the changing leaves in Autumn here in Virginia. You inspired me to go grab the pattern now. I was debating on cardigan patterns and now I need look no more :)
Wow I would be heat broken 💔 too so sorry for your lost 😢 what beautiful yarn I would make a beautiful sweater until next time have a wonderful and blessed day in rock yarn ❤️🧶
Heartbreaking! But the new color is absolutely beautiful and will bring you lots of joy! I would pair up the mohair with another yarn to make the No Frills sweater by petiteknits. I’ve been wanting to make that for some time now. Thank you for sharing your stash ❤
This is soooo sad ! I am so sorry for you ! and your reaction was totally "normal", you dedicated so much time to it and I would have the same reaction if it was happening to me! I would probably make a Monday sweater by Petite knit so that the yarn it the main focus of the piece :) thanks for this giveaway!
Props to you for making an exciting yarn choice for your new champagne cardigan! I’ve been needing a cardigan for layering at work, so I’d make the champagne cardigan or something similar with that gorgeous yarn.
Hi Alexa. I can imagine how devastated you were in losing all your hard work you put into making that cardigan. I would feel the same way. Sorry about that. That new yarn would make another pretty Champagne Cardigan. Love the colors. That mohair yarn would be cute for making a top or even a shawl. Thank you.
So so so sad about your champagne cardigan. Your giveaway yarn is beautiful. I would pair it. With a neutral and knit a fabulous sweater, probably the Felix. Enjoy your second champagne.
So sad. I would hold the mohair double with another yarn to make a cardigan. I have always wanted to try that technique but the cost of the mohair has kept me from doing it.
Oh no! This video needs a trigger warning 😭😭🤣 love the new yarn and can't wait to see the 2.o cardigan. Hopefully whoever the OG Cardy ends up with really really appreciates the warmth or recognizes the value of it being hand knit ❤️❤️ better yet it finds its way back tho of course 🙊🙈
Omg so sad for your cardigan but I have to say I love your new color choix. I would love to knit a Champagne cardigan myself. Maybe my next project! I would like to make the Saturday night sweater with your yarn giveaway
I would love to make wither a ghost whisperer (is on my need to make list!) Or a rannunculus (sp?) 😍 it's summer here in NZ though so the ghost whisperer would probably be ideal 🤌👏
