On todays show I discuss Pioneer DJ announcing yet another new product, following up the DDJ-FLX6. This time it’s the DJM-V10-LF, a long fader version of their flagship top-end V10 mixer.
There’s one more thing - a new fader curve setting curve on the V10-LF which is designed specifically for this model. It’s not exactly clear from the press release what that curve is, they just mention it “enables you to make fine adjustments to the volume of each channel and precisely control the output sound”.
The DJM-V10-LF is coming out ASAP for $3,299 - exactly $100 more expensive than the with-crossfader counterpart model.

a dream Mixer! Personally I never used the Xfader because I'm a Deep Tech House DJ. Now we have longer fader for smoother transitions and a good place for Hands while Mixing :-)

I'm really glad Pioneer went this route. First playDifferently created a market for mixers designed from the ground up for the 'techno DJ' w/the Model 1 & now Pioneer followed up with a solid piece of hardware. Serious DJs don't need crossfaders. Crossfaders are for gimmicky performance turntablists who are becoming increasingly irrelevant and rightfully so. Removing the x-fader actually opens up the possibilities for mixer design, not only can you have long faders (as every mixer should) but more room with the EQ section. Wonder if A&H will drop something to respond to the V10 LF?

This mixer is definitely aimed at someone like me: a mix n blend deejay that likes mixers that sound fantastic. I've never really been into Pioneer mixers and found (and fell in love with) Allen + Heath mixers years ago. I moved my Xone96 on earlier this year and got a Formula Sound FF6.2L. I'm in absolute heaven with the thing, but I still want a PlayDifferently Model 1 in the worst way. Shit sucks, lol. As you said, respect to Pioneer for putting something like this out, but I think the market they're aiming for wouldn't want to give up their Xone96 or Model 1 for one of these things. Shit, I wouldn't.

I don't get it. I also don't use the crossfader that much but, that's why they have a "thru" selector on each channel and, presto 😆 It would make more sense, to me at least, to have an option on the standard mixer to remove the panel that holds the faders and crossfader and replace it with a rotary alternative. And with that price tag, both options could come in the box.

I have a Zoom F6 to record my mixes. This recorder only uses XLR inputs. However, the V10 mixer only has RCA for record out. What do you recommend for me to use (cable wise) to record from this mixer to my recorder? Gonna use to record at home not at a venue. Was thinking Mogami RCA to XLR. Not sure though. Thanks for your input.

The car model is called LFA and it has a V10 engine... 😝 What do you think about the RMX-44 BT?

What is the point of having 2 six channel mixers. If anything they should've made the crossfader removable on the V10, and just put in a blank cover, when not in use. But that would've made sense.

But then Pioneer wouldn't be able to charge you for another mixer.

@@djsubculture2786 Next there's gonna be the DJM V10 NF. No faders.😁

If anything, I like the idea but would have preferred that they release a rotary knob version of the V10 instead. Long faders are good but not that much better than removing the crossfader.

I have Xone DB4, PX5, 96 and Model 1..I had 900NXS2 and I had for a while V10..I've tested all together side-by-side and V10 is a great mixer and is a big improvement in Pioneer mixer building, but about mixers I think Allen&Heath is ever a step further:sound is well balanced in between frequencies, solid, precise where Pioneer is punching for sure but (IMHO) not rewarding at last..

It's actually ridiculous to call this a rotary mixer juat becasue it doesn't have a crossfader. That's not what makes a rotary a rotary. ALL (that means 100%) of all rotary mixers DO NOT have volume faders. Period.
