i've been a technical director at a major night club for 17 years and this to me looks like almost the perfect mixer as it has the best parts of the 3 market dj mixers model 1 djm 900 and xone 92. cant wait to get one to take for a spin.

And here’s me thinking the DJM 900 Nexus was expensive lol

Did't see this coming. For a first glance it looks like they got a nice layout. Obviously a lot going on on that face plate but it still looks pretty straight forward. This was nice to see, thanks for a good review:)

God this thing is beautiful and the routing capabilities are amazing. I hope they make more similar to this. Especially with the compressor at the top of each channel.

would be amazing for say, a djm 1000 example, to be a 4 channel mixer with the isolators and compression ability like this v-10 and simple 3 band EQ that can also be added to the xdj-xz 2 as a controller, most djs will never get to use something like this but a baby sister to this would be welcomed in most resident booths. i would buy one!

Great Review vídeo!! New features from this mixer is gorgeous 😱 but I don't like the form to change the filters, I like so much the form of the old mixer like djm900.... Use LPF and HPF in channels separately, and turn the knob right or left for choose.

What a monster mixer . Can't wait to play on it...

Things I find positive about this mixer: The sends seem amazing for creating your own builds and transitions, especially in the genres I love, like techno and minimal. I would definitely use this more as a live set mixer with my drum machines and Synths. Yes it’s going for what artist like Richie and Dubfire use in the A&H Model 1, but it does give you pretty good quality effects already built in. I am always skeptical of the sound quality when it comes to vinyl on Pioneer mixers, even the 900NXS 2 was a little to ‘clean’ for my taste when I broke out the record bag for a show, but it’s not a big issue. Others may be afraid of all the knobs, which I think is silly. I want more control over my sound at all times. I feel like a DJ should always be active with their music. I can’t stand artists who just sit there and wait for the time to start the next track, and this mixer looks very engaging to keep the artist involved within their mix. Cons: price as always. I am fortunate enough to be able to get one of these, but where would I ever be able to use it when I am not at all a famous DJ in the city of Detroit. I can always bring it along, but what a huge piece of kit to lug around. I am supposed to pick one up today, but am thinking of canceling because of the cons mentioned above.

I love that Pioneer have decided to put a 4 band eq on this. Allen & Heath have had it for a long time & techno & house djs who are into long blends seem to love this!

It’s a cool mixer but I struggle to see the demographic for this. Most djs who play live or use external gear tend to go for an analog mixer like the A&H xone series. But 6 channels are def useful.

On the older DJM's, you can have the FX assigned to multiple channels on once by using the cossfader assign. 15:00ish correction

Regarding the efx- You could use beat efx on 1, 2 or 3 channels by grouping them to A or B. Now its either 1 channel or master. Not a big deal just noticed in video what you said about not being able group efx before.

@crossfader The manual shows full kill on the Low EQ however I've read on the Pioneer Forums that the Low doesn't kill the low end frequency like it did on the NXS2 ? It's hard to tell from your very quick demo. Can you confirm ?

Those Solid black knobs are going to be fun to find in a pitch black club. The effects sound good as always. Hope there is an update to the 2000nxs soon. I enjoyed seeing a frequency spectrum on my mixer.

What’s apps did you use on the ipad? And can you use them with a ddj1000?

I love a filter encoder that has a ''ZERO position'' set hard left, that's why I'm still rocking the DJM2000-NXS. Trying to re-center the encoder to 12 o'clock In the heat of a mix requires more concentration, and if your even 0.1 off (returning the encoder center dip) you end up playing the track with no bass. And if your 900NXS-2 is a bit old the center position dip becomes less accurate!

How about the soundcard channels?? what are they? how many i/o? Can we route external effects through the usb soundcard?

I hope the 2-headphone pre cueing feature, which is supported by the CDJ3000 will get into a new version of a 900NXS2 kind of mixer as well.

The DJM-V10 is pretty much a A&H Xone 96 with a couple of extra features and a Sound FX screen.. IMO i'll take the Xone 96 all day for half the price and its a Hybrid mixer and also Traktor abled with Dual 32-bit 24 Channel Soundcard & the Xone 96 is a 6+2 channel mixer with 4 band EQ same as DJM-V10.. DJM-V10 = Way to Pricey..

Mann the sound you can tweak out of that thing is insane i bet.

So I have the Denon Sc5000 with an x1800 mixer. I currently have two decks but plan on getting another 2 but I have been interested in using instruments such as a key board, guitar or beat machines in my mixes. Would this mixer be compatible with my set up so I could use 2 channels for instruments and have the capability to use all 4 decks once I get them?

The COMPRESSOR on every channel is a game changer! Perfect for mixing new tracks with the much quieter ''old skool sound'' (that didn't subscribe to the loudness war) No need to painstakingly remaster all those Old Skool classics in your DAW, Just turn that dial!

Do you think this is the only product Pionner will release this year? I was hoping for the follow up to the CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 (CDJ 2000 Nexus 3).

What happens if you route the send Fx to a channel, and that channel is sent back to the send fx? can this cause a feedback issue?

Actually on djm 2000 you could have one effect on 2 or 3 chanels by using cross fade utility.

Pioneer trying to compete with the Model 1 mixer. I can see this being in nightclubs or small venues. I'm one half of a DJ duo and I would love to play this at a gig. I and my DJ partner will not have to leave or switch off playing our sets. The dual headphones are a game for all DJ duos. I don't see this as a mixer for the home studio unless you are a major player or a producer. Great move by Pioneer!!

I have a Zoom F6 to record my mixes. This recorder only uses XLR inputs. However, the V10 mixer only has RCA for record out. What do you recommend for me to use (cable wise) to record from this mixer to my recorder? Gonna use to record at home not at a venue. Was thinking Mogami RCA to XLR. Not sure though. Thanks for your input.

This new DJM-V10 shows that Pioneer DJ still rules the DJ booth. Now I really can’t wait to see how the CDJ-2000NXS2 follow-up will look like... (I’ve heard that Denon also managed to get a sample copy of the DJM-V10. They ripped it apart, otherwise it won’t fit in the copy machine.)

Most DJ in America setup, 2 Turntables and a 2 channel mixer like the S9 and Rane 72..Most DJs setup in Europe, 4 channel mixer and CDjs. And now 6 channels wow 😳 you going need like 2 people to carry that around

Seems to be a cool piece of equipment, I spinning with a XDJ-XZ and want to start spinning with vinyl, I own a DJS-1000, RMX-1000 and another samples unit. So if I want to add two turntables I need 6 channel mixer. However I want to learn DJing on standard club equipment like the Nexus... for me it would be great if there was a DJM 900 Nexus with 6 channels... now I have to go for this great (cause it's a great piece of gear!) V10 mixer, but I am afraid I will get confused when I endup in a club who probably have a Nexus. I probably miss the color effects.... like space (I use allot to fade away) and I will get use to the different way of usage (put the knob in the middle to get 0, or totally to the left). I really want to upgrade to a new mixer with some CDJs and turntables..... also because I miss the send/return on the XZ (for the RMX-1000), but it's a big price to just take the risk for buying the wrong mixer....

Way to go pioneer!! Another festival mixer. Using a abundance of effects will tire a crowd out. I will wait for a new mixer /xdj for the common folks like me. A DJ from Jersey. Maybe a two channel baby nexus with a cpu?

Things missing from the mixer: - two rotary controls on 2 & 6. - a clip on VU-Meter. - an early warning center for compression use. - a secret dr Zoidberg effect on channel 3. - a decibel meter. - space for your hands.

Hey there do you know how to record the onboard fxs & sends into a DAW? I can only record the 6 tracks separately and the fxs or sends don’t get recorded only the dry signal coming in from each channel is captured. Pls help

At 15 min. a little fix if i am correct. Form example on djm900nxs2. you can assign FX to more then one of the channel or only master. you can assing channel to cross fader A or B and then select more then one channel to use FX ? am i correct?

Hey guys, this not for DJs who just use CDJs and all they do is beat matching. This is for DJs and live performers who are really serious about it and often use other instruments.

I will ask for this mixer in my contract any time i have a gig.

I'd be interested to hear the sound quality. Pioneer has a bad reputation with audiophile Djs but surely at this price point it's gotta be good or they won't be good value at all. The timing of the fx seems a bit tricky too. Is there not a bpm synced option on it?. Love the master isolation and booth eq though.
