My Thoughts On The S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla X Kong Line

SO fun fact the shma pink godzilla prototype isn’t made of the material we’re gonna get in hand. It’s made out of resin so if your in awe of the detail and the paint, it’s cause it’s not actually what we’re getting in the future. It’s more likey to lose ALOT of the detail like what happened to minus one. Shma Fr are trying to catfish us so we don’t get Hiya figures. Tho hiya just looks like a better deal, not only is it more accurate it’s also taller and easier to purchase without sacrificing an organ.

Anyway SHMA seems to be kinda cooking with the evolved goji figure and maybe Shimo but with those prices I’m sticking with Hiya 😭🙏 a slightly less accurate but for half the price and larger is a steal. As for Skar King.. it looks cool but he feels too clean, not enough dirt and grime on him and the roaring face is just bad

18:39. The reason for the inaccuracy of the 2014 figure was because Sakai had to use promotional material I believe and was not supplied a 3D render of Godzilla to base the figure off of. Also the prototype's joints of the Evolved Godzilla gave up because it's made of resin, which does not hold as well as the final product will.

I bought the Ghidorah(2019) and I remember being disappointed with its proportions, painting, and the fact that it cannot stand alone. This was also when I was gazing out of buying toys and to this day was the last time I bought a toy of any kind. I commend Hiya for quite literally out-competing S.H. in every way.

Shimo was revealed. It looks like they just reused a Playmates mold for it. It's tail is also atrociously bad.

Here’s a fun fact with Kong. The scars like you said are painted on the 2024 version instead of being sculpted. If you line up both figures. The scaring on the 24 version doesn’t match the scaring on the event exclusive version. So the paint job on the scars was most definitely a rush job lol. Also I don’t believe Yuji Sakai had anything to do with Skar king. That was sculpted by somebody else.

Honestly, the shma minus one godzilla is one of my favorite figures that I own. Never really had the problems that everyone was talking about. I'm not really going to get into what happened with my two hiya g19s (I don't remember if you were aware of what happened with those two that i got). I'm definitely taking the shma evolved over the hiya. I prefer its design over the hiya figure, and I already know how painfully limited the articulation will be on the hiya just from the hiya g19 alone. Not to mention the.... joint.. problems that the hiya had.. but I'm definitely looking forward to the evolved godzilla!

I don't know if it's just me, but it looks like B.E.A.S.T glove kong has no metal tooth.

for any base godzilla or non evolved godzilla just go to hiya, its more movie accurate and and has pretty much same articulation.

I mean I do like the shma GxK line (except for the first 2) same with the hiya’s GxK line. But in my opinion I think shma’s Evolved Goji’s figure is better than hiya’s Evolved figure, though I still think that Skar King head is still weird as hell💀💀. Overall in my opinion I like shma’s Evolved Goji more than Hiya’s. And I respect all of you guys’ opinions if you disagree or not

The reason they are so expensive is cos they are imported so the tax on them is quite high if you compare yen price to USD the difference is insane in Japan Godzilla would be 80 usd but on BBTS they are charging 130 edit: also skar king does have black pupils but only in like 2 scenes this is also been confirmed by the art book something to with his eyes adapting to hollow earth. Second edit: this video is hilarious with some good takes but I still think they look decent enough and the pre evo Godzilla and Kong are probs for new fans my friend just started the line and he got them first allowing him to have a good entry to the line so they serve their purpose but Kong should of had the glove with him

The Minus One release was one of their weirdest releases imo. He's a general release, yet was discontinued right after 2024 started, which wasn't even a whole 2 months after the figure released. While SHMA is known for inconsistency in quality per release (72 being a good example being a good release), this leads me to believe that there was a particular reason other than demand why Minus One was discontinued. Was it because of its flawed (understatement) quality? Possibly, but who knows. I'm hoping that Evo will be a good addition to the line when it comes out. Skar King........he needs better faces.

Alright Ive watched this vid 15 times I gotta say some points are valid but one annoying complaint is at 7:49 he talks about the tooth not being painted silver and then later down the at 13:02 this person just solved the problem if you choose wanting your Kong wit a silver tooth personally I didn't like the silver tooth in GXK cuz people didn't start noticing it until people kept analyzing the trailer and second off its never really explained the only thing tht i can say tht could of caused it was the Titan hunter delivered a exact blow on the side of kong's face tht the tooth became infected bottom line is if you want a figure to your liking(tht goes to you completeionists out there) all it takes is a stroke of your tiniest brush wit some silver paint and presto you have a Kong 2024 wit the silver tooth and I can hear you people who say well it's Sh Monsterarts job to do tht well guess wht sometimes you gotta do things yourself sometimes hell I custom paint my figures every day and if i don't like something about it I'll either resin print a part or paint something to make look better if you cant simply paint a tooth on a figure your straight up lazy im sorry but it is and ive been doing it since the age 8 and im 20 and I still enjoy it to this day and I bet my paychecks this guy will complain about the same thing for Hiya Toys Kong but I'll wait for him to look at this but hey thts just me

Some pretty valid point but I do have somethings to point out Evolved colors is actually accurate to the movie, Evo has green in his color model as seen in the 3D renders and concept art, with shma appearing to tone it done a bit on the proto type. Skar king does have black pupils in the movie but it’s not seen as often as his blue/white ones, whenever he roars, laughs or in action his pupils are white and when he’s not they are black so shma is technically accurate. I think the heads are Ight, I would’ve like a laughing head or snarling head but ig in shma credit they didn’t know those would become so popular with the fans. Also his roaring head(for as weird as it looks) is accurate since he nearly pulls it 1-1 during the rio fight multiple times The figures are Bandai web exclusive which over the past few years has had great track records with QC apposted to the standard releases like Minus one(which is still inexcusable but give more hope that these will be good QC wise) look at figures like 93 three pack, space G fukuoka ver, and Gigan 72 and Hedorah Getting hiya is still a great option and I’ll personally get hiya shimo over shma’s but the new Evo and skar shma showed off are perfectly fine imo

I have a friend who managed to get the CG files of Evolved Goji and he showed them to me and yeah...evolved Goji actually has some green on him (Not the toes tho 😢

Shld I get the 2024 Kong? I unexpectedly found one in a store and am now thinking about whether to get it. At first I disliked the axe included, but when I learned that it’s translucent frm another review, I started feeling that it’s cool. I also kinda dig the colours as it’s accurate to how Kong is shown in GxK. However, I am unsure about the quality. I’ve seen some vids where ppl unbox their SH Monsterarts Godzilla figures and the tail js randomly falls apart. So far I haven’t seen or heard anything of the sort happening to their Kong figures.

The beast glove scenario is inexcusable! If you are going to make a 2024 Kong Figure whose most iconic look from GXK is him with the beast glove, you include his freakin beast glove! Unless you are a greedy money swindling company who wants to increase revenue by including a must have accessory for Kong with another figure that’ll in TOTAL set you back a whopping $180+ to $200+ with tax!
