After purchasing 4 releases with sloppy paint apps and joints that fall apart, I gave up. SH Monsterarts will not get another dollar of my hard-earned money. If people keep purchasing these things, it sends a clear message to Bandai to keep pumping out poor quality. Vote with your wallet people. I know it’s hard, but keep it in your pocket.
I think Tamashii should stick to toho godzilla only, we get room freed up to get classic monsters or mabey if they do reissue figures they could be re releases of their best ones like the og burning godzilla
The reason they pushed this garbage out is likely because Hiya started making a bunch of new 2019 Godzillas. Tamashii went "Idk, is this what people want?", this figure is a perfect example to why they are clueless to why people seem to be liking the Hiya versions better than their own, which in turn demonstrates their complete lack of awareness of what the fans truly want. But people still buy it, so i guess it's still a win for them, technically.
If they dont make money from us, they make a load of money from china companies buying up the figures to turn them into bootlegs. And taking a look online wherever shma is sold (amazon, ebay) there are a large quantity of 2019 goji being made into bootlegs or even just bought and redistributed
But if we're talking the regular business, Tamashii would rather re-release the same sculpt 20 times over rather than actually remake and improve upon it like Hiya does with each new release. This likely has to do with their Japanese collectors business, which is why they are so careful with pushing out newer products. @@chinoyomaji288
This just reinforces my theory that Toho has an agreement with Bandai to make most of the Japanese Godzillas well done and fuck with the Legendary ones.
@@CannyMuffin I disagree, my Final Wars looks phenomenal with 0% face goof. And as someone who has probably seen the movie an upwards of 50 times, the sculpt doesn't look bad anywhere.
@@Stupididiot-ci5gf with all 100 respect He looks nothing like final wars, his snout is too small, his tail is too thin, and his eyes looks bulge out, even the good version looks nothing like final wars, the promotional image we got IS the final wars, the final product just look mid.
It really sucks that Tamashii doesn't even give their Monsterverse line two shits. I've decided that Hiya will be my Monsterverse collection, while SHMA will be my TOHO related collection.
@FastModz95 With how well Hiya has done, I'm certain the 1991 Goji will be fantastic! Sticking 100% with Hiya wouldn't be a bad call at this point. But I'm personally really happy with what SHMA has done with the line when it comes to the TOHO side of things that I'm willing to continue supporting them... for now.
Bandai saw the popularity of Hiya and said “they want 2019 Godzilla? Well we’ll give ‘em just that!” Failing miserably.. I’m holding out hope for the SoshingekiGoji figure they just revealed
Hiya Godzilla is way better, it's bigger, more solid, you can't see straight through the gap between the thighs and hips, joints don't fall apart, the painting is competent, it's leagues cheaper than Bandai, it's just SH Monsterarts but better. Hiya is even making figures that have never been in SH Monsterarts, Skull Crawler and the female MUTO.
cant wait to see Steve make a vid on that one and watch it crumble into pieces like those shitty sugar cookies you'd get from like walmart, and spend $100 on it.
I definitely agree that this is Bandai/Tamashii Nation's worst figure to date, especially after seeing Steven's Toy Review's unboxing video of it(Which I did laugh my ass on because of the parts that came off). I do collect MonsterArts figures whenever I can and having the financials for it, but I am most leaning towards Hiya more, which I recently got 2019 from BBTS and I am absolutely loving the figure, way better than my current SHMA 2019 figure I got. I am looking forward to their new 72Goji and hoping to get it at some point, but for right now, I don't have enough for it. While I do like the line too, I Hope Bandai get's their shit together for SHMA with better quality figures, cause as of right now, Hiya is giving Bandai a run for their money, especially since they also got the license to make the older designs as figures >:3 So I am looking forward to that. Overall great video, recently discovered your channel today. You earned my sub ^^
@@Chucher The one at 4:39 that is the “Final Wars” of Godzilla looks like it’s getting ticked off at you, lol. It looks like he could be saying: **in Godzilla voice** “What did you just say to me?!”
I feel like modern day S.H Monsterarts are a little disappointing but the figures still look amazing though (Not this one) but I wish they came with more than just the figure since where I am from I need to sell one of my balls to get one and sad that its just the figure I got GVK MechaGodzilla and I was quite disappointed them it didn't come with a beam
Didn’t think it could get worse than the SDCC blue Powerade Godzilla recolor, but yet here we are. Powerade Godzilla looks like the Mona Lisa compared to this guy😭. I’m not trying to defend this figure or anything but I think they rushed this for the new Tamashii store opening. Maybe that’s the reasoning for the sloppiness and 6TH GODZILLA 2019.
@@Chucher 3:33: It’s so strange, having your *Godzilla’s* *head* popped off. It made you laugh a lot! Haha, yes, I find it funny sometimes. But my 2002 Godzilla doesn’t have a problem but the hand that’s attached to its wrist can be easy to pull off at times. Oh and my 2002 MechaGodzilla and my 2017 Godzilla Earth doesn’t have any problems. So they are in like… good condition I guess…
I have a theory, hiya toys made a really cool godzilla figure and tamashi nation got jealous and decided to make a Godzilla 2019 night color version. Until you got the figure, figure becomes bad. It looks like they rushed it and that price is just no. So yeah I’m glad I bought the Hiya toys Godzilla figure, It looks way better. It’s just my opinion.
I’ve always found the S.H monsterverse Godzillas look strange. It’s like they couldn’t commit to proper film accuracy for any of them in my opinion. The KOTM one still looked off to me as well even if it was an improvement to the original.
The teeth is horrible because the teeth don’t actually have any color- Godzillas teeth is the same color as his skin… don’t believe me? Look at certain renders of godzilla
Ironic seeing as how I have the Hiya 2019 Goji, Its much better figure than whatever the hell Bandai did : / I still like SH Monster Arts, I really do, its just some of the stuff the release is kind of questionable
I have the MonsterArts of 2019 Godzilla and he’s a gorgeous figure! Great articulation, great coloring, and amazing detail. I’m baffled this figure took such a nose dive in terms of quality. My freaking King Ghidorah (1991) standard figure looks better than that!
Heya, new viewer here. I specifically went into this video with the mindset that I'd be trying to defend this figure because everything I'd seen had actually looked pretty cool. When you talked about 2019 Ghidorah SCV briefly I was even more confident that my opinion would be different from yours because I love that figure to death. But then I saw. I saw everything. Truly inexcusable, Bandai. But y'know, if this is the sacrifice we had to make to get figures with effect parts again it might just be worth it. (The last bit is a joke, I'm thoroughly aware that there isn't and shouldn't be a trade-off to it.)
I would have considered getting this if it had the g14 feet, honestly. Then i can have it as a gvk godzilla (they really changed the feet in gkotm. Then went BACK to g14 feet... for some reason). But if they went all out for this. It would have been cool if it was based on the comic ver of mv godzilla. Maybe the dominion ver of him. Then i would definitely get that. But it's just a repaint of the g21. (Weirdly enough. This is the first repaint of gvk godzilla. The head sculpt is also the same as the gvk ver. Which is different from the gkotm ver). If i am going to get another mv godzilla figure. I'm getting the poster ver. Then i can have him as a supercharged form for godzilla. And if i want another mv godzilla. I will wait for gxk to release. (A tad bit of a spoiler) since he is getting a new design at some point in the film. And they better make a new design for him. A longer tail would be nice. (Leaving the description of the design out as much as i can). And maybe the hiya burning godzilla. But I'm not too sure about him. I will refuse to get the atomic blast figure of from hiya. That figure is a little ugly (discounting the dorsal plates. Which are beautiful) the top of the head is just..... well. I'm just not going to talk much about it. But to me. The top of that figures head is more ugly than this guy's teeth (and that's NOT a good thing. And i do think this figure is kinda bad, too if you are wondering). And it's gray... WHY is this figure gray? I get it. He's a gvk godzilla in the day. But he was never THAT bloody gray in the film, man. And they may have limited the articulation in the elbows a bit. And I've already ordered the hiya g19. And i don't see a point in getting the hiya g21. It's literally just the g19 with darker colors. (It has the same feet as gkotm. It's not gvk, godzilla). And I'm by far NOT getting the og hiya 21. That things neck is one of the worst necks that i have EVER seen on an articulate godzilla figure. It's probably the worst figure to make an animation with among shma/neca/hiya. It's GOING to look meh because of the figure. NO THANK YOU. But I'll go over the list again. Because i think i made it a bit confusing. Figures I'm planning on getting. 1. Shma supercharged godzilla 2019 2. Shma Gxk godzilla (if it's the new design) 3. Hiya burning godzilla 2019 Figures I'm not getting. 1. Hiya atomic blast godzilla 2019. 2. Shma godzilla 2019 night time ver 3. Hiya godzilla 2021 (the new ver). 4. Hiya godzilla 2021 (the og ver).
Lol yeah, I understand gripes with hiya but I like the neck on the atomic blast. This event exclusive is just a poor excuse to even cash in on almost $80 ☠️
@Chucher should have been the same price as the gvk or g19, honestly. If it had more blue, it would have at least looked better. And i get it's only sold in the tamashi (forgot how to spell the name) store. And had to rush this figure to keep the line on schedule and all. But that does not mean it should have been falling apart like it did on some people's figures..... But the hiya fans were really annoying when this released (and still are). Claiming that this is a "last ditch effort to complete with hiya." When it's not. It's an mv godzilla figure that is meant to release and celebrate the opening of the store i mentioned earlier in this comment. And it's mv godzilla because it's sold in an American store. So they are selling an American godzilla. In America. Because it will sell better. And will be far more recognizable to the customers. That's why. But hiya fans always think it's to "over due hiya". When it's not at all. And it gets under my skin when people ALWAYS talk like this in some videos where hiya is not mentioned ONCE. But I'm just going to stop here..... I'm going to go down that "hiya fan" rabbit hole that's best left, not talked about. Especially from me.... (i will go way off topic and just a plain rant at that point).
@@jarvaraproductions Should’ve been $60 honestly. If they were gonna do a repaint of 2019 I don’t see any way on how they would do so. If anything a reissue of the actual figure would’ve been better And trust me, I wouldn’t even say that they were competing with Hiya, the comparison is for jokes, and I get that it’s because the New York Store opened up. Good on them that they’re getting more stores in the states!
@Chucher i know it's for jokes. Plus, you did show an actually better figure anyway in the video. But again. Some of these hiya fan's are just plain annoying. (I went off topic about it in the comment).
Hopefully Hiya releases a Godzilla(2014) figure so us G14 fans can finally eat(i'm prolly getting their new g21 as well but it depends on the differences between it and G19)
Ok this is now just making me want to develop my own Godzilla action figures now. Like- wtf. What is that thing??? Couldn’t they at least worked hard on this figure?!?
MonsterVerse Goji has some hit or miss figures, at this point Hiya Toys is my go-to for Monsterverse figures.. MV Goji deserves some love from some point, and not by toxic fanboys or well Tamashii Nations..
I have the Ghidorah special color version and I love it,but I do know why people hate it.Ot falls apart easy, and it’s heads are way too big,and he’s way too big.If you just get him in a good pose and leave him there forever and he actually looks pretty cool. BUT THIS ONE SUCKS ASS
“Tamashii Nations”? Nope! More like “Tamash*it” “Nacraps” for that Godzilla toy that had a tail and waist or maybe torso that was detached, I think. Or something.
They should really have a voting pole for what there new figure should be cause this is just S H I T 🤦♂️ I rather buy the new Godzilla 2024 repaint figure since it’s like $81.00 and it has more accessories imo
So I wanna ask can you swap parts off Sh monster arts figures that have similar sized ball joints? I mean, let’s say you have legendary goji, final wars goji and heisei goji And you wanna combine them together, like legendary gojis body with final wars arms, and heiseis tail and the head of singular point as well, is it possible? Like would the cup and ball joints connect?
I’ll admit I’m not the biggest MV fan, but it’s unacceptable how SHMA just shaft the MV kaijus for some reason. All 3 MV Godzilla don’t look that accurate to the actual movie design (with 2014 and 2019 having teeth and eye issues) All the other 3 main titans (Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan) ended up being mid MG pistons being a pain as they could snap off. And no figures of the Mutos Considering how popular and mainstream the MV is, you would think SHMA would take that as an opportunity to get more cash if they spent more time on the figures.
If Tamashi Nations wanted a New York exclusive, they should have made Zilla from Godzilla 1998/Godzilla: The Series, but that's just my opinion. Let me know what you think.
I actually really like how this figure looks personally, like color wise anyway. I wouldn't drop $100+ on this, but sh monsterarts are a company mainly making glorified display pieces. But thats my opinion.
Innaccurate paint, horrible face sculpts, bad articulation, joints pop out so much and it gets to the point for the wings they could break, $230 price point, and the wings barely move even though Tamashii can make them move. It isn’t for me, but if people like it I’m glad for them
My bootleg kong 2021 from aliexpress for only 11 quid that i had to use superglue to stop the eyes falling out the roaring face is unironically better than this figure in the video
In my opinion, yes, this godzilla is just a repaint, but I think it looks pretty cool once you shine a light on it, like the colors and stuff, but still, it's just another repaint :|
shma honestly releases the same figure every time. There should not be that many recolored versions of things. its just a cash grab and even if i was a millionaire i still wouldnt buy half of the shit from shma.
I do want to Quick Explanation of Why SH 2019 King Gidorah Special Color Bad (Besides Price With Agree it Way to Much with only Accessories to have it Stand and thats It) Sure yes the Color Aren't Movie Accrute But people who did Review it when it came out Said it Ball Joints are Way Better then the Original SH 2019 Gidorah unless you have proof it still the same Sure im not Going buying it Due to His Wingspan would make it Impossible for me to Fit him in my Room Ulitma Gorjia is Barley Enough for me to Fit inside and Box and Looks Like Monster Hunter SH Figures Are Having more of the Spotlight it seems
@Chucher fair enough (like for me I can deal with larger prices sense I have a Job and such but it ok if you prefer the Oldder colors and Such) might Buy and Review there latest SH Monsterarts Monster Hunter Figure but that's Mostly It (I likey go the Hiyah Gidorah most likey)
Hiya existing, outputting much better figures and hell even better repaints at a much faster output than SHMA, for a far cheaper price, is a godsend in terms of Godzilla collecting. Hopefully Hiya’s near perfect track record of releases will force SHMA into a competitive spirit in order to compete, but as SHMA stands now it’s a bloated shell of what it once was
Yeah SHMA Mecha 2021 is the last SHMA I'll prolly ever get tbh. At least for the MonsterVerse. Currently waiting for Hiya 2019 Godzilla rn should be here in a few days
3:33 Was the head and jaw even sent?! 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 Leg problem, freaking teeth problems, tail problems, head problems… is that even the real version, a ripoff, or a ripoff of a ripoff?
