I know some larger matches in area 3 are going level 1. And there are many clubs going to a hitfactor match as well. This can be good for clubs too as they get to keep more cash for themselves to get additional props and other range gear. Now is as good as a time as ever to go shoot a match to show your support for the local clubs. Great video!

In Sociology there is a syndrome called “staff capture.” This happens in many churches, non profits, and publicly traded corporations. The staff starts to believe that they are the organization and forget the reason the organization exists. National staff in churches, for example, are almost always much more liberal or “progressive” than local congregations. In the case of the NRA the leadership clearly came to believe that they owned the NRA and it existed for their benefit. I don’t know what’s going on with USPSA, but it sounds like something similar. I have been a member a long time (more than 20 years) but pay no attention to national matters or higher level matches.

When your recreation organization has a class of Elites with a Top Secret Stamp, Disciplinary Committee and polygraph tests, your recreation organization has lost the plot.

Shine a bright light and vote with your money is very good advice within anything you believe in. Very well put.

In a way this is similar to the NRA situation. A once good organization doing good things for its members ans thr community who just got greedy and ego driven and steered a 180 from where it was headed. New Leadership can always make a new turn and head back on target.

Ben and Frank are still encouraging folks to be members so you do have a vote. I have been a member since Oct 86. Things do need to be addressed within the organization as to spending and budgets.

Sounds like politics, board members need terms on the board/seats. Sounds like the good ole boys club. Never a good thing when you don’t get new blood in, keep some old members on but have them do something else and still be part of it all. 🤜💯 Pops your a good man.

Good to see you Pops!!.....It has been a while since I have been on YT. Things have been going well for us and I hope things are going good for you. It would be interesting to fly out and shadow you on a shooting event sometime. Take care and keep up with the videos.

You make some very strong points on your video. Voting members of A2 need to really look at who the next Area Director they vote for will be.

I let my membership expire. There are enough local matches open to non-members that it doesn’t benefit being a member. Outlaw matches are often as much or more fun anyway. The frustration with the organization is almost universal.

I understand not wanting to be a member right now, but you lose your voting rights. Just something to consider for anyone who is considering canceling or not renewing their membership

I concur with this statement, as everyone has the choice to "talk with their money" and not attend matches along with not renewing their membership. That said change will not be driven by those people that just walk away, but by those who stand for change. I am on the fence about matches "downgrading" to level 1 in "protest", as it is still a USPSA Match and money still has to be paid to the organization. Of the money that is being "saved" (approx $100+ dollars per competitor, based on common level 1 match fees), what happens to it? I understand that there are people that are displeased with the organization, and can respect their points of view. A certain few of those displeased push for others to be the "face" to have the changes they want made, while being safely the "power behind the throne". If things go badly, then the individual(s) they pushed to stand for having the changes made will "suffer the consequences" while the real person responsible gets to walk away. USPSA does need for the "ship to be righted", but it seems that instead of "fixing the problems" some fire torpedoes in order to sink the ship.
