It's very good, but then again, the music is always great in WoW (and Blizzard games in general) so nothing new. I do think MoP and WoD are the peak of WoW music, I mean go listen to those login screens, it's insane. Those soundtracks still make me hyped for those expansions a decade later, and I think much of it was thanks to ridiculously OP Composers like Russell Brower and Neal Acree. By the way, Neal still works for Blizzard and he reworked some of his MoP mantid themes for the new Nerubian music, really cool when you notice it.
To each their own! I think Ahj-Kahet is one of the coolest looking zones in all of WoW. I've wanted a zone like that since I did Old Kingdom way back in 2008
This. The second I saw Azj-Kahet I fell in love. I always loved the Nerubian style since WotLK. Running through Ahn'kahet and Azjol-Nerub always made me wish for more Nerubian themed dungeons or even raids/entire zones. I'm so happy so see an entire zone finally being dedicated to them and also the new raid. Unfortunately I'm just running M+ and not doing serious raiding because I can't be asked to bother with the time management of raiding anymore but I'll def. check out this new raid just because of the theming. (Also I'll probably need to do the raid anyways due to trinkes/weapons, I assume lol)
I have felt like the WORLD itself has a much bigger role in this expansion, even more than Dragonflght( Which was already an improvement on previous expansions). Also I think I like the extended no mythic difficulty. It really gives the rest of the game room to breath which it desperately needs on an expansion launch.
I could have spent the money, but I wasn’t going to take time off work for it. I have 30 days of vacation banked up, but early access wasn’t worth it to me. And I’ll not be missing any content for not spending the extra money for content I won’t miss.
Great video. Thanks for making it. I agree with you completely about EA. I finished up my 5th toon sometime mid-day yesterday. It's been great just finishing the campaign and spamming dungeons. The whole start of EA was great. I had zero issues - zero disconnects, zero crashes, etc. It's been awesome. I don't particularly care about the music or the zones, but being able to grind out the levels and prepare for heroic week has been amazing. It was worth the money. A main reason it was worth it is simply I could afford it and it was no skin off my back. Secondary to that, I enjoyed having less people in the starter zones.
I'm leveling so many characters already and I'm still not bored. I feel like these zones have the perfect amount of quest density. Dungeons are also pretty lucrative, as well as Delves. It's easy to be on your 3rd or 4th character as still not be repeating content too much. Warbands are a big win for me so far. I've also discussed with a few guildmates who also got the early access and they agreed that having a few days with only leveling to worry about before more content released was a great feature, almost completely removing FOMO and letting us enjoy the experience of leveling, and taking in the splendid new zones, rather than making us feel behind if we chose to take our time.
@@heythereguysitsMetro I'm even more impressed you manage to reply to so many comments. I've been commenting for over a year now, and I don't think you've missed a single one. Thanks for the great content, I'm always glad to see another M+ disaster video with quality narration in my feed.
@@JumboCod91 thanks man! I really make the videos just so I can have a discussion about them afterwards. I endeavor to read every single comment but some times RU-vid fails me in alerts.
I did every side quest along with the Main questline, and I was on the brink of hitting level 80 before I stepped foot on Hallowfall. Having a great time so far. Plus, Dornogal has some of the besk inkeep tavern music ive ever heard in WoW.
couldnt agreee more. And warbands is such a big W, Did the campaign on my main, and used side quests for my alts, and all that rep is going to one shared rep bar. The exp is already a banger
I’ve been going through every quest I could find and was lvl 76 by the time I finished everything in Dorn, although im still short of 2 quests from the sojourn that I’ve missed somehow.
I've been taking my time and really enjoying the story. Reading through every quest, sidequest, main, and collection/books. Hit 80 by the time i started Hollowfall. I'm surprised how quick leveling is and the early gear progression doesn't feel exhausting. I def want to go through the whole story again and looking forward to what this xpac has to offer.
@@heythereguysitsMetro FF14 broke my habit to speed through everything. Once I started reading everything in wow, I realized how deep and funny some of the quests are. There's a quest with a Starship Trooper reference in Azj-Kahet. A small reference, but a welcomed one.
I have leveled my first two 80's, completing the campaign on my first toon, and completing all available side quests in Dorn and Ringing Deeps on the second. I'm about to start my third and I'm going to start in Hallowfall. I love the questing, and the shared warbound renown. I'm guessing by the time I'm done leveling my 4th character I'll be close to renown 10 with all 4 factions.
hey there good video as allways :) on my first character i did 2 zones, and completed the main story (was 80 before i was finished with the story) on my second character i did the 3rd and 4th zone (comepletely) and dinged 80. on my third character i just leveled via dungeons (took me a couple of hours, pretty easy)
Well that's up to them. My only complaint is that they are far too infrequent. But apparently there will be a vendor for them come the season, or so I'm told.
Can’t support EA. Won’t do it, won’t buy skins or mounts or whatever other mtx they get the suckers with. That being said I’m gonna play tf out of tww tomorrow! Super excited and this video definitely just added to the hype for me
I'm having so much fun as Deathbringer Blood DK. The scythe just does so much damage and I love having a blue blood boil. Just feels like a whole new experience and I can't explain how or why but it does. EDIT: 3:00 And you're right I didn't even think about it until you said it, it feels nice to not have to spam rush Mythics on repeat to gear up. Its relaxing to just chill and enjoy the game
I personally love Az'Kahet mostly for lore reasons (yes I'm a lore nerd :P ). I also really like delves, they feel like what Torghast should have been (fun solo content that isn't required for player power) my only real issue is I kinda wish they were a bit longer :P Although to contradict myself a little bit I am aware that the delve chests that require keys to open are going to give higher ilvl gear than mythic 0 meaning we probably should save our keys if we want the highest pre-season gear. I've heard some unconfirmed rumours that once you reach renown 10 with Hallowfall you can buy keys for resonant crystals but the renown page says nothing about it so I'm just waiting on people I trust to verify it. And yes Brann progression is account-wide although he caps out at 15 right now
Delves are the big x factor for me. If they end up great the expansion dominates all others. I'm excited to see how gear works with them and how their highest difficulty plays out.
You can have at least give delve keys already. The first four zone event loot chests of the week give keys, plus you get 25 fragments from up to four WQs a week.
As someone who didnt buy Early Access I found the actual launch very laggy with latency issues (not on my end) and certain things caused server-client desyncs, like the auction house for example. But it was way smoother than past launch experiences.
I’m having a blast! Early access for me was just a nice bonus, I would’ve bought the epic edition regardless as I wanted all the other goodies, plus the game time. Blood DK feeling insanely fun too! Nice to take my time and fly around, do world quests and some professions with no looming need for m+ grinding. Don’t get me wrong I’m going to love when it’s released but for now, it’s just nice.
I fully agree. I hate retail leveling as a rule and prefer classic. What they have done here is slow the game down so it feels more like levelling in classic. There is no rush, take your time, do some fishing, do some farming. Its enjoyable and relaxing
Dont know if you said "crystal" because you dont want to spoiler this, but I am commenting because I thought the same very thing the first time I entered Hallowfall. And then, I realize what this crystal really was... BTW I loved this launch too! IMO the best one of all those expansion. 10/10 leveling! Fast, smooth and fun!
Is on a paler horse good enough of a talent to buy the xpac for? Been wanting to have mounted combat for so long, especially on a dk, but I don’t want to spend 70-90 dollars on a video game at this time. I wouldn’t mind if it hooks me enough to play it for the whole 2 months of game time I would have to buy, but there’s just so many other games out now.
You are asking if a single talent makes a spec fun enough to buy the entire expansion that will last two years and if the answer no you won't buy it? If so, the answer is no lol The talent is cool but you need to dismount from it constantly to dragon ride anyway.
@@heythereguysitsMetro thanks for your honesty bro. I know it sounds dumb but I mentally moved on from wow years ago and being able to stay mounted all the time on a pally or dk is as something I always wanted. I should have figured it wasnt as good as imagined since I can’t find too many people actually specced into it. I just bought a whole bunch cheap older games too and you know how wow is, when you play it you only have enough time to play only wow, so i want to be %100 sure I would like it. Loved your vids tho they remind me how even tho I do miss wow i don’t miss pugs
My experience of the expac so far is the same as yours. For the first time in a long time I’m actually taking the time to enjoy the zones and the campaign quests. Also, I’ve not played with music turned on for the last 3 expacs. It’s such a more immersive experience with the music on.
It’s been great so far, I just finished up leveling my last tank and now I can actually play the game! While I don’t think it’s a great precedent for early access behind the most expensive edition, I buy that every time for the cosmetics anyhow and I think it’s probably going to be here to stay with how smooth the launch was
I am very conflicted about the early access to be honest. On one hand, I absolutely hate the fact Blizzard is using this predatory tactic to take advantage of players and farm more revenue by basically, like you said, making you pay to play on time... But at the same time, this legit was the single best launch of an expansion I've ever played, and I'm super glad I got the early access, simply because of how invested in the world it made me
Well the second dispels the first right? You can see it was worth the money and not predatory at all. If they failed to deliver then I would agree. But this was the most valuable purchase I've ever made through blizzard tbh.
SO far this is great, I got 2 characters to 550+ my main is at 560, and i'm enjoying the story again. The EA access making you feel like you don't have to rush out one character is so nice, It let me poise my alt to hit the ground running when stuff actually get started. Delvs right now can be a solid gearing option. I've gotten 2 571 pieces out of them thus far from bountiful delvs. Also Delvs also offers some decent gear at tier 8. I think that makes it great to spot fill gear when you're not in the mood to pug
I'm excited to see what max difficulty delves look like. But sadly if you are limited to how many items you can get a week, they won't be something I'll end up doing much. Don't forget, the gear is totally random, or at least it seems so. At least in M+ you can target a specific dungeon to farm a trinket etc.
I initially was going to get the heroic edition but looking that the epic edition had more stuff included for £20 more I decided to go epic instead. Also here in the UK the launch time is at 2300 BST and I have work Tuesday morning so being able to have early access suited me better because it fell within my days off work. I've had a few dc's here and there and also my personal resource display bar kept coming back on when relogging. But overall it's been a good start to the expansion
@@kingtut8367 ya honestly that's the biggest take away here. Without those end game systems pulling up along there is so much more freedom to explore the game. Big part of why I stop to enjoy the leveling challenges along the way.
I'm gonna have to add another category of people like myself who didnt pay the extra money. I ONLY play the game for M+. I started playing WoW in SL season 2 and still to this day have no idea what the story is about, not even in the slightest. Dont know main character names, zones, lore of the different races/classes, literally nothing. I dont care for pets, tmogs, mounts, achievements, etc. I literally play the game for M+ and thats it, BUT, I really enjoy the game for that. No other mmo has itched that sort of challenge/competitive itch that WoW does and to me, playing to level/gear for M+ is whats fun and I dont get tired of it or burnt out. So to me, and again, imo, the extra $40 wasnt of value to me. Everything you can put a price on like pets and all that are worth $0 to me since I dont play the game for them so $40 to me wasnt worth 3 extra days to play (I dont play betas because it makes the seasons feel less "new" once they start) when I have to wait another 2-3 weeks before I can play what I enjoy in the game. Again since this is the internet and people tend to think you have to enjoy things exactly like they do lol, I enjoy the game through M+, thats just how I like to enjoy the game
@@Whowhatwherewhyandhow well you still have to level and gear the character haha. I don't blame you, mythic plus is amazing. But unfortunately it is attached to an MMORPG with thousands of things to collect and explore. You kinda CANT only play the game for mythic plus, as much as I wish you could. You should get into it more man! It's so much more enjoyable when you really sunk your teeth into the full product. Mythic plus is just the cherry on top!
@@heythereguysitsMetro yes, you do still have to level and gear which is fine, but I was just saying the extra 3 days wasn’t going to change my experience because gear coming from M+ will far exceed whatever we get from questing. I also don’t care what I start at once m+ starts because most of my gearing with be through m+ anyway. But I have tried getting more into it but I come from competitive fps games with WoW being my first mmo so M+ just gives me that same enjoyment. I get really bored with single player games or games based on story (except god of war - only game ever that had me extremely locked into the story) so really FPS is all I played until WoW. Don’t get me wrong though, I don’t mind people enjoying the game in its entirety, everyone SHOULD play the game how they enjoy it. Thats one of the great things about WoW, there’s so many different ways to enjoy it that if you don’t like one way, there’s a whole lot more. I was just adding my opinion on why I didn’t see the extra $40 as worth it to me, not saying it wasn’t worth it at all and no one should buy it because others like yourself do see a value in it, and thats great. The story, questing, and even raiding are just not it for me and I dont ever look forward to doing it. M+ gives me that sense of “the grinding for gear pays off here” sort of feeling as you progress higher and higher in key levels. I love it!
@@Whowhatwherewhyandhow the three days probably won't matter unless you are limited in time. Gearing isn't really something I'd take for granted though. Keys are going to be very hard those first weeks. I'm certainly not expecting to get a full set of gear from keys. Having that baseline from world content is usually needed those first weeks.
@@heythereguysitsMetro Agreed. Glad Blizz did something that seems to have made a lot of people happy about TWW though. I think it was much needed, even if some people have negative opinions about it. Even with it not exactly being for me, I think what they did would be a huge benefit to people who value what was offered which was a W on Blizzards part. They made extra money with also giving people quality, isn’t that what we all want as gamers? Some people in this community are just mad at the world and see no positives if it doesn’t directly benefit them which like you said, just takes away from their own enjoyment. Looking forward to the upcoming content though! Will be fun watching you explore the new zones/questing and just enjoying the game as it is
the best music we ever had was in Wrath of the Lich King. but yes, TWW music is fuggin awesome. i love your early access take, because this is exactely how i feel. and i think Hollowfall is one of the best looking zones they have ever made
think the launch being so smooth was down to splitting the players with early and late launch, expansion has been good but blizzard politics have made launches dull aswell
Dungeon scaling is way crazy like mop remix, so grind dungeons til 74/75 and then do campaign to get 80 without extras. I blind leveled my first thru quests and campaign. Second toon, I quested through Hallowfall (favorite) and 3rd will be dorn and dungeons. Once you finish campaign on 1 toon, you can skip it on alts and continue. Save keys for a few weeks. Fragments are from world quests.
@@kal_eide if you skip it does it just go away and you can't do it at all in any zone? I liked how it worked in dragonflight where the campaign was segmented per zone and you could go right to azure span and just do the campaign there alongside everything else from level 60. Is that possible in TWW?
@@heythereguysitsMetro After the Dalaran quest, you can skip and it puts you in front of Bran in Dornogal. If you skip campaign, you choose which zone you want to quest through. The campaign quests are all still there as well!
3rd reason not to get the epic was a busy weekend. Had like 2 total hours to play this weekend. Considered it like you said, a discount to start later. Tomorrow night lets goooo
Gonna have to add a third group. I myself don't care about mounts or the cosmetics so after the extra game time it had no value to me. If it was like a week early but only 3 days isnt much. But im a dad and casual player so not a lot of time to play.
yeah the cosmetics seemed ugly to me and its 3 days ea only, i think people are dumb for getting it but im honestly not mad at them. after seeing the timeline of tww it seems only heroics unlock when ea is over and m+ later after that.
I wish I had the means to buy the EA, but outside of the US the cost for expansions is very high when compared to the local minimum wage. If Blizzard didn't make the subscription prices match each country/region, even paying for the subscription (with US prices) would be a luxury. In my country, the Epic Edition costs 23% of minimum wage, and although I'm making quite more than that, I can't pretend it's cheap by my standards. (P.s.: I've always been happy to play, purchase and subscribe, I would just appreciate if they adjusted the expac prices to region the same they did for subscription. And I know lots of my friends would be willing to pay for the Epic Edition too if priced reasonably.)
Hmm ya I will defer to you on this. I know nothing about any of this or how its related to other currencies. All of my opinions are based on USD. I guess there is no way to just buy it from the US and have it applied to your account? I assume they would be against that so they must take precautions for that sort of thing.
@@heythereguysitsMetro That's ok. And no, there's no way to buy it from the US but the price matches the currency exchange on expansions, but any other store item and subscription have had their prices adjusted according to regional wealth across many countries (the same can be said for other Blizz titles like Diablo). But by any means, all the power to those who can afford the EA! Still love to follow up on streams and uploads and see y'all rocking and rolling in this new content!!
great video, but all the people saying EA was 3 days confuse me in the comments. It was 4 days. thur-fri, fri-sat, sat-sun, sun-mon. had to mention, was very odd to me.
man i wish i could see the game through your eyes and thats the biggest compliment i could give. my experience was like this: i dont know that the campaign only would just bring me to 76.5. heading back to "old content" feels wrong so i just spam dungeons to may out. then i am frustrated because i dont know what todo because there are no raids/m+ etc. i def need a better approach for the next release because right now it was all just meh. i hope i get myself to do the sidequests because i remember back in the day, i would just do quests for fun, or because others told me to check the questline out. so for people how havent had early access and might read this: learn from my mistakes, look around in the world and so a little sidequest here and there if you have the feeling that you dont quite know enough about a zone/part of the story yet
Well to be fair it was that same way in dragonflight and somewhat the same in shadow lands. But ya that's why you hop on the beta and do some preparation. I tried to warn you guys!
Brother metro! i paid for war within early access i feel for someone like myself early access is not worth it. Im a guilld leader now but I place alts n my buddies in it mainly. I do not do any hardcore content. I just play the game. I recently got my earthen overall IM glad that the early access went okay. What do you think of the Warbank being down for a week I think blizz handled this correctly in spending the time to fix it. I HOPE the people who lost their items/gold got it all back heheh. Stay safe brother Metro LOVE youre content keep doing the good work you do and I am looking forward to Midnight. I think I am buying Heroic from here on in I do not play that ham to justify early access! but well see. See you soon brother Metro.
Thanks for leaving your thoughts man! I loved it, but I get it if you don't feel like its worth it no worries. I just wanted to point out the amount of stuff you get on top of it is hugely valuable.
@@heythereguysitsMetro Brother Metro thanks for the kind words! i'll see what I can do when Midnight comes out man. I am doing every quest available as I level to 80. I turned 80 at the end of Ringing Deeps. Fantastic! I have no sense of humor over programming errors in a pay to play game and I was very surprised at the smooth gameplay. Two things.. They are not adding enough Adds in the quests for the community size. They are notorious for this! That wasnt the thing that annoyed me the most. Captain Garrick in the Follower Dungeons just stands there when you have them supposedly leading. Why would that not be addressed by now? Delves needs more gear opportunities. I am assuming Early Access may have something to do with that. I feel mostly the same as you do. Thanks!
Interesting problem about follower dungeons. Is that new to TWW? You have tried toggling the follow button I suppose? As a tank I never even bothered with this. But ya, delves need a better gearing system. We will see how it plays out.
@@heythereguysitsMetro yes, toggled properly. The worst one is the Dread'something flying boat in Hallowfall Follower dungeon because a player new to the content has no idea where to go. I had to join a normal dungeon group and even they struggled. Learning pains and all, but for the leader to just stand there was not helpful :)
I wanted to love it but when I started the campaign I had a bug that stopped me from being able to accept the quest "the archive" and this bug stopped me from continuing the campaign at all and i spent the entirety of the first day of early access contacting blizzard and looking on wowhead for a skip. i cant believe i paid extra for a bug to stop me from losing the entire first day. I know its a niche problem that seems to have only effected me and like 5 others but my TWW launch was sooooooo bad and unsatisfying
Hmm that's unfortunate. Ya sadly not really much to do there on Blizzard's end if no one else had the issue. Was it an issue on other characters too? How did you end up solving it?
@@heythereguysitsMetro on wowhead there were some other who reported this problem.... i finally fixed it by having a friend log onto a fresh alt, go and do the into to TWW and all the quest that led up too it, then accept the quest and have them invite me to a party and use the party sync system to phase me into their version of the world, and i had to do this 3 or 4 times. it was any time the character "speaker blyanthe" needed to be talked too for some reason.
@@jackiethomas3301 oh wow. Well genius move to fix it. Sorry that happened brother. That's the worst kinda story in a launch. I can only imagine how bad that must feel.
So far I am loving it, and its sooooo nice to have the account-wide progression. The only complaint I have so far is, as you said, waiting for thing to respawn. In the first zone near the theatre area you need to pull 6 or 8 weed from the stage. And for some insane reason they respawn suuuper slow and if someone takes one, it despawns for you. That quest will be hell with global launch if they dont change it. How are you liking DK so far?
In theory EA should be fine, but watching trade chat just shows how many people are asses about the stupidest things. No I am not spending $60 so I can play WoW 4 days "early." I am equally annoyed by once I bought the base edition the bnet launcher still pushes "Get early access now buy the epic edition upgrade!" Also not a fan of when I bought the base edition it was pushed to buy a subscription, big obvious blue button to start it, but tiny harder to see red button to not start a sub. Pretty predatory practices imo. My friend who did buy epic edition does say he it at least loving the story, which is nice to hear.
Its worth buying brother. Well not now obviously. But it was. Its an amazing experience and worth supporting. They did it right. You can protest all you like, but all you did was rob yourself of enjoyment. Also epic edition is only 90 dollars where base game is 50. So 40 dollars, but it includes game time, so you end up only being down 25 dollars. Need to be honest with that part, sorry. Can't allow that level of misinformation on this topic.
@@heythereguysitsMetro Am not american, it is a $60 difference in my currency between base edition and epic. I generally like your content but you are coming off pretty pretentious here. You mentioned in the video of how much value you get out of it. Considering most people either have a subscription or already have game time, saying they included it in the epic edition is a mute point imo. Also personally could not care less about transmogs, mounts and traders tender included, hence why I bought the base edition. If you want to shill for Blizzard thats fine but I am not justifying a $60 difference in price for things I don't want and I really think its stupid they included early access at all.
@@nofoxgiven6561 well dollars is a US currency so sorry if that confused me. Everyone needs wow game time though so that's out. Like I said in the video, there will be some people who are banked years in the future but very few. This month was free with the purchase. That can't be discounted. How much is game time in your currency?
@@heythereguysitsMetro With a sub $19.99 a month. I do have gold banked that pays my sub - thanks Classic WoW- but yeah my point still remains that you have to sort out gametime already anyways. Imo the base edition should have been expansion and gametime. I already have too many toons I did not need a boost valued $80 locally. Even deducting sub price for a value of $50 for 4 days early access and mounts/cosmetics I personally am not a fan of. Like that is just two months of gametime for me if I chose to not use my gold, you know? I am glad you are enjoying the expansion so far, and I will be among you all next week. Looking forward to seeing how season 1 shapes up.
I don't have an issue with the early access as I was gonna buy the epic edition anyway. I think it was a great idea to split the playerbase as the servers seem way more stable and the questing doesn't have a billion people all funnelled to the same areas. I think the issue you have with Delves is because the bigger difficulties aren't released yet, but I don't think they're content for M+ers or Raiders, so I won't judge them if they're not for me as everyone needs stuff that's geared for them. Either way i'm having a blast.
Glad to hear! I hope Delves will be more interesting upon being fully launched for sure. I want to love the content, and disagree they aren't for me. I do tons of leveling challenges and LOVE solo content in this game. Its just that they seem to be very limited in their reward structures. I'm perfectly confident waiting to see if that remains true.
True ..when expansion comes out you should first discover the wolrd and questing and all that..I'm mplus player but i loooove me some World of warcraft exploration and doing world content when expansion launched..for that reason i never liked decision to have flying in the world day 1...imagine how good DF would be with no endgame content on first WEEK and without flying just exploring..TWW is Awesome and it would be even greater if there is no flying
@@lukeluckynblue1873 hmm I would have agreed with you very strongly until dragon riding. I did do a few zones with no dragon riding but it's honestly such a fun and responsive way to travel I prefer it now in the new zones. But old flying, 100 percent happy it wasn't present.
I see a lot of key fragments from world quests. Agreed on the launch, I haven't been a WoW player really in a long time. Decided to play because I had a lot of fun with pres evoker last season. I haven't been this immersed in a game in a long time.
@@heythereguysitsMetro I've had at least 2 per reset, which to be fair is still only a key every two days. But hopefully they buff it once early access is over.
After a 2 year break ( dragonflight did not do it for me, don’t ask me why) but this exp just feels good, same for the people from My m+ team, so its off to a good start for me
Didn't get EA but am very hyped. For me the atmosphere of Kul-Tiras is still unmatched tbh. I am lucky being a total noob-casual not doing any high-end content back then and that piratic atmosphere was amazing (would definitely be ruined if I had to farm those scary amounts of azerite tho). From what I've seen so far TWW is going to give me somewhat similar feeling and you hyped it even more. Now I can't wait till official release for us no-ea-peasants, going to get lost from real life for some time it seems xD
I didn't see any value in the Early Access edition because there are so many mounts and pets in the game that they just mean nothing to me. I didn't want to play the beta either because it would just spoil the expansion. I also think they delayed Mythic 0 too much, it's not like WoW has a massive questline like FFXIV which warrants giving people time, especially when most of the players don't read the quest log in WoW.
It absolutely is a "massive questline." Are you calling me a liar or something? You are disputing the amount of hours I have spent and the fact that I'm still not finished? I'm not reading quests either, in fact I'm using a speed-run guide to get the chapters done asap. Still not finished after everything discussed.
@@heythereguysitsMetro When I say questline I mean the main quest (with the unique symbol) and it only took a few hours to complete. Obviously if you are doing side quests it will take longer to complete. I was comparing it with FFXIV expansions which usually take days to get through the main questline because of the large amount of cutscenes in that game. The fact is WoW expansions only ever give you half the story upon release and you don't reach a conclusion until the end of the expansion.
Instead of spending an extra $40 on early access, I spent it on Palworld and played that instead. Sorry, I don't care how good the experience was, 4 days is not worth the price of a full game.
@@zapzya it was 25 dollars extra due to the cost of the game time. but yes it is worth the cost because of all the other stuff you get. I guess you just didn't watch the video huh
@@heythereguysitsMetro I watched the video, I just don't value the other stuff. I don't really care about mounts, pets or transmog to buy it. Even at $25, 4 days early access just isn't worth it to me. Look man, I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over starting late. I don't really get why not having heroics in relaxes any pressure you feel, maybe it's just a streamer thing.
@@heythereguysitsMetro Not enough to spend money on. Beta access I wouldn't mind, but I see no reason to spend money on it when I'm just going to play the same content later on in a more polished version anyway. I play mainly for m+ and raids.
@@zapzya Oh ya, well that's another great reason to have beta then. All other seasons are testable on the PTR for free, but beta is the only place you can test season 1 and its shaping up to be a very difficult one.
I've been playing basically every waking second right now and it's fantastic, the overworld feels great, the hero talents are fun, the leveling was paced nicely. I have literally leveled a character through farming mats and selling them off on the auction house while questing, after getting my main to max level using the main questline and then covering the last couple of levels by dungeon speedrunning. Now I am getting my reps up while heaping all the crystals to my main through the warband currency share feature. Another huge W. What I will say is I was not impressed with some of the story, specifically pertaining to the character writing. It felt like we arrive at this new continent and for some reason Moira is just instantly best buddies with all the Earthen, and they give Alleria a lot of the same character flaws Tyrande had of rushing into bad situations against her peers' advice in order to move the plot along. But overall, fantastic launch.
@@timhundhausen1386 well that's not really what I'm talking about. I'm speaking about how they deliver the story. That has only gotten better year after year especially after they stopped adding major plot points to books only. But I also disagree that those expansions didn't have good story. The main story wasn't anything crazy in dragonflight but I loved shadowlands. It's what really got me paying attention to the lore.
@@heythereguysitsMetro that's totally fair. I liked the beginning to Shadowlands but really didn't feel like they followed up on telling a compelling story of Sylvanas' motivations and plan in the finale, which is what put me off big time. But my story takes may be a bit out there.
Since sojourner is account-wide im just doing one zones sojourner per alt and the dungeoning the rest of the levels. Pretty fun. Will say that I dislike the early access because i have guildies who can't get the early access and it feels bad for them to be logged in seeing everyone else having fun leveling and doing delves/dungeons together, and they just cant join in. Very fomo left out badness.
@@thechartech ya well we address why that's more on them than anything in the video. I will say I looked through the dungeons in the group finder and there was a lone level 70 warrior with like 400 score listing a 3 halls on Saturday afternoon. That guy I felt bad for haha
Hi Metro, I watched your vid, and have read through oodles of comments and responses. I didn’t buy the EA version because the items, game time, and getting into the game early just didn’t interest me. I pay for the 6 month subs. The guys I usually run with did buy it and have enjoyed it from what I heard. I’m looking forward to getting on tonight to see it for myself. I do remember the days when I would take the day off work to enjoy the first day of an expansion. 😂 Those were exciting times! The real choice is what toon to main this time around. It’ll probably still be my Blood DK though.
EA for a game should not be a thing. It creates a two tier community where people who just want to play the game and are not bothered about the "free extra stuff" are left sucking the hind tit. But Blizzard gonna Blizz, least it won't be going to Bobby's next yacht.
Its no longer about Blizzard’s greed. Its about them looking at other games and realizing that people are giving companies stupid amount of money for early access with minimal backlash for a few days and it doesn’t affect overall sales. They would be stupid not to jump on that train too.
@@arpadszabo661 They do? Just like FF14 for preorder which isn't more expensive? Or GW2 without EA at all? You know which game got EA? Throne and Liberty...
@@heythereguysitsMetro also your comment about playing early, it is delayed full released. it is basicaly most expensive game time, like over one month sub for 4 days of game time on top existing sub, base expansion price..
I did the main story and basically no other quests and was nearly 78. Did do a few delves. So without those the story quest would get you to probably 77. My first alt is doing just dorn quests. Not done yet and I am almost 75. Just for some examples. I suspect I will be 76 at least with just dorn.
I personally don't like questing, I'd rather pop on, check out my World Quest add on, do the ones that offer the gear I want and be done with it which is exactly what I am doing on the alts. When it comes to zones you and I are polar opposites, Dorn we've already done 4 times in different expansions, Ringing deeps was Zarelak 2.0. Hallowfall was pretty cool, but a zone where we get quest from a fricken spider hanging upside down in the middle of the map... I don't want to ruin the story or give spoilers but that whole zone had an epic feel story wise to me. I didn't get the epic addition on Principle but didn't want to miss out. So I bought Basic and then cashed in 900K gold for token credit and upgraded to me that's not real money anyways.
@@NerdrageHockey haha its actually more money for blizzard! But ya, I can see your point about the spider stuff. I just don't like how dark and cramped it is.
One thing about the early access is the princing on other countrys, here in Brasil this shit is so expensive its just not worth it, the base edition is already 170 R$, and the epic is 319 R$ its way too much in my opinion. Idk about the price for you guys, but if its good i prob fine, you get the game 3 days earlier, that shoud not give that much of an advantage gear wise
@@heythereguysitsMetro C'mon check various countries like Poland, Ukraine and there are a lot more countries with lower salaries/buying power other then located in south america, africa, lot of asia.
I love TWW so far. The zones and the story are so much better than in DF etc... Though the scaling in normal dungeons is absolutely broken. lv70 can ground stomp 80lv characters on dmg. It wasn't this bad in DF 60 vs 70.
@@jani14jani hmm maybe. It's usually like that, as far back as I can remember. I remember people going from like 25k in wrath to under ten k in cata first season.
The reason lol 70s stomp is because of their 4 piece. You enter scaled with your group. So that means when you replace tier pieces, you lose that massive damage feeling.
I’m also loving the not having to rush to max level and do a ton of stuff to not feel like you are getting behind, definitely a great idea by blizzard as they do spend so much time crafting these worlds.
From my slightly rushed understanding of what was going on, I remember someone commenting on the first time the darkness came, with Anduin remaking in private to us that it was most likely linked to Sargeras stabbing Azeroth. So based on what we are told, or at least, what the characters deduce by themselves, the crystal was only light when the Arathi first arrived and for a while after, only going dark after the events of Legion. Found the dialogue: -Anduin Wrynn says: I've gotten a look at the crystals in their keyflames. It's not Azerite, but it is close enough that I think they are connected. -Alleria Windrunner says: Then you've realized when Beledar shifted for the first time? -Anduin Wrynn says: Their Day of Darkness... the same day Sargeras plunged that sword into Azeroth.
The issue I have about the early access is that I would have liked to discoevr the expansion together with my friends but since some didnt buy the early access we are kinda split and it doesnt feel good
Ya well hopefully they will learn from that experience and if they do it again in the future there will be a better understanding of why it was a sound investment.
Dragonflight is my favorite expansion too and I also do agree that early access is amazing. I bought it cause I want to take my time leveling since I have a lot of work these days. Early access also means a smoother launch due to server stress. Great analysis, thank you.
This isn't' a political question, Do you think the bearded female dwarves actually look good? To me they look dumb because the beards just look glued on or something.
I was just making sure no one thought I was saying "female dwarves shouldn't have beards" pretty much lol I know it's an old joke from Tolkien lore for them to have beards lol
@@chain872005 oh gotcha. Ya it doesn't look good to me. I would never play a character that looked like that myself but it's nothing that bothers me past that.
It's woke crap, that infiltrates every game, movie, commercial, etc. No, I don't like it at all. I don't like playing with orphans or killing mushrooms either.
wow, from the first 45 seconds i thought the video was satire. Not listening to anything else you have to say after "Dragonflight is my favorite expansion of all time"
I've really been enjoying your videos up until now but I have to say that that was complete nonsense at the end. Dropping an extra $40 for something that shouldn't exist in the first place shouldn't be common practice. Claiming it's ok because you're going to play it for 2 years doesn't fly either because that's what the subscription is for. Also for a lot of people that value you just blindly accept is in the epic edition isn't there. Not everyone is willing to pretend a mount should be $10 or a toy should be $5. If you're fine with buying the epic edition then that's your decision but that fanboy logic is ridiculous. It 100% is paying to play early.
I think if you had other hobbies that involve money you'd see it differently. Good example o have right now is Pokemon TCG. Some cards cost way more than you think they should. Some products too. No one seems to complain there. The sooner you can simply look at market value instead of fighting it, the quicker you'll be able to enjoy the hobby. Mounts and pets have a market value from blizzard and frankly it's very modest compared to what these things would sell for if the players could trade them too. The epic edition is insane value. Thats just basic logic man. Nothing to do with fanboying. If anything I could accuse you of the same issue but the opposite. Sounds like you are just blindly hating even though I laid all the facts out for you. Like for example, it's only 25 dollars extra. You get free game time with it.
@@heythereguysitsMetro It's not free game time when you pay for it, come on man. Pokemon TCG is entirely different. People pull those cards and set the prices based on how much people are willing to pay for rarity and the condition. It's not the Pokemon Company setting those prices and trying to see how much they can get out of players, collectors etc. What Blizzard is doing is gating the launch and making you buy things you don't need or want in order to access it and half the community are applauding it. You can try to spin this as hating all you want, that's up to you but the reality is that there's no value in it at all for most people outside of early access and other games are fine with putting that in a pre-order bundle instead of treating their playerbase like a loot pinata.
@@FalakIll honestly man if you don't like mounts, transmogs, pets, traders tenders, or beta access are you sure you like wow at all? I think a lot of you guys are just lying about all this honestly. You are protesting because you don't want to spend money and I get it. But the value is utterly intangible. The fact that the game time cuts the cost to 25 is all you'd need to know that.
the best thing I like is, it's a great time to level and figure out what you wanted to main. Like i got a druid/monk/paladin to 80 and decided monk wasn't for me at the moment. But I don't feel "behind" because the early access is just extra time before season. GREAT Launch Blizzard.
I feel like i paid extra to get on a pro golf course like Pebble Beach or something crazy with an early tee time and nobody behind me. just chillin with no rush.
Bro I bought ea but if someone doesn’t ply wow as their main game and will go in and out of playing it why the hell would they pay the extra. My mates working for the first 5 days so he didn’t buy it. Very weird for you to be so gun hoe on it. I probably won’t buy it next time, can just wait and then there is more stuff to do.
@@ProteinPredatorsPodcast right I'm obviously talking about people who want to play, sorry. Thought that would be more clear. If you don't care about playing the game, why buy it at all?
Im so gald this Launch is so amazing!! I got EA and have loved it! I was getting super scared about it being a flop with all the negative comments from streamers before beta had even launched. Glad they are wrong so far!
@@Shogun-fi2ck ya well tbh no one was really commenting on launch. There were some major concerns with season 1 and I think a lot of those are going away quickly.
Early Access was a great move, and putting it behind the epic edition was absolutely the best way to do it as its the most fair. it made the launch so smooth, never got a queue, never got DC'd. the way it should be
@@ericv738 in what way? You might be confusing the fact that you had to pay extra? You would always have to do that with early access obviously. Otherwise it would just be a regular launch. They could have charged you that money for just the access which would have been way worse. This way it's basically free given everything else you get.
I would've much rather have had the option to buy the early access separately from epic edition. If you wanted early access but didn't care about the mount, pet, etc, you were forced to "waste" money on things you didn't want just to get early access. And let's be real, the early access is probably what most people cared about the most among the list of things included in the epic edition.
@@ericv738 that doesn't make any sense to me. Why would you not want free stuff? What do you expect the cost of the early access alone to be? I assume you are thinking it would be very cheap compared to the 40 dollar difference?
@heythereguysitsMetro Well, they aren't as engaging as dungeons so far. The experience and rewards are not as good as dungeons are at the moment. It doesn't feel like there is any meaningful story associated with any of the delves. All in all, it feels super lack luster and just a waste of time.
@heythereguysitsMetro That's a fair point. However, I don't find it engaging solo content. They almost feel as if they are missing something. It's hard to put a finger on. I've tried most, but not all, on difficulty 3, and they are relatively easy to get through. With that being said, some of the delves have bugs that impact the experience a little bit. I get they are trying something new, and I will try the delves again on a higher difficulty, but I know I probably won't play them again after a few weeks.
@@jasonl5337 all you did was fuck yourself. You aren't going to convince the company to stop wanting money brother. Get off the high horse and go enjoy this amazing game!
I lost all the hype and excitement for launch because of the EA .After watching this video and hearing you praise expansion so much I regained some of the excitement. I can afford EA but its not something I wanna support. It has no place in MMORPG in my opinion, after all its BLIZZARD, they have released so many expansions so far, I shoudnt have to pay them extra so the launch is smooth ,they got the money and resources to make it smooth launch I am 100% sure. I hope they dont do it next expansion but truth is ofc they will do it. I dunno, expansion launch at least for me is rare and special event and now doesent feel like that anymore...lets be honest here, expansion launched on the 22nd and tomorrow is just delayed access.
