Yesterday I was upset because I had to go to a dinner, beauty salon, was running late, was not hungry, left early and worry of a meeting I had next day. Then i found you on the internet and everything changed. I saw my worries as frivolous and inconsequence. Thank you for helping me see life in totally another way. You helped me. I pray for you tonight. From Miami.

We may not know each other personally, but you have my support. As Ian said, don't be ashamed of those dark thoughts. Everybody has them. You. Didn't. Give. Up. That's what matters, my friend. I hope your physical therapy and future treatments go well. Much love from across the pond.

You are such a lovely man. I'm so sorry you are going through this! I watched my father die from cancer (it was prostate cancer - he wouldn't die from it, the doctor said ). I somehow got your video in my suggested viewing. I have had numerous major surgeries, so I have an *inkling* of what you went through - but hearing about all the problems with swallowing, a lot of people don't realize what hell that can be. Sorry you have so much nerve damage as well. I'm really surprised (and glad for you) - that you didn't have a lot more pain associated with the surgery - especially internal to your neck area. For going through what you've been through, you look great. Keep strong. Don't give up the fight. There are a lot of people pulling for you. 💪 💞

Hey Imma from Singapore and I had thyroidectomy for my cancer on Sept of 2018. We got it sorted out at pretty much the same time and I really wish you well & continue to be blessed like you always do. We are both Thyca warriors!!

Hitting rock bottom like you did then, that particular time, you faced the worst option available to you and you beat it. Nothing to be ashamed of, a moment to be proud of., one of many on this journey that stands out xx

Joe thank you so much for sharing your story! You are amazingly brave and amazingly humble and I am astounded by your openness and honesty about everything that's happened. When you have those low/dark thoughts or moments where you feel like giving up just know that I'll be rooting for you and I'm here if you ever want a chat or just to reminisce about the Metro days. Stay strong bro! You're an inspiration.

This was a difficult ine to watch and listen to... When you said you wanted to outlive your parents and have children.... .....i indeed know how crap this feels. The injustice of at least not being able to have a good start in adult life . I too cant have kids due to terminal chronic ill health, ..but my dad died when i was young and now mum is dying .. ...somehow i take comfort that I dont have to leave too many people behind , when my time is up. And the state im in, im glad i didnt have kids , so they didnt have to watch me deteriorate etc . ( inspent 12 years caring for and watching dad struggle in pain etc ) Its been bad enough when my dog was dying from cancer , yet she was trying to care for me....fuss over me. She was forever licking me , as if she wanted to make me better . I couldnt bear seeing her put through that . She should not have seen me like this, ..especially when she was so ill herself, You are right , leaving family behind is really hard . Its wonderful you have such a supportive beautiful living wife . Despite everything , i hope you still have a long time left to enjoy somethings you love ... You are so strong , you've been a great inspiration . 💚💚💚💚👍

You don’t have to feel ashamed about those dark thoughts, you have the strength to record this as well as post it publicly, that shows your true character. I would say chin up = but you might frighten small children with the scar! ;-)

The joy of catheters, I'm impressed the doctors came to such a good resolution. Fun fact when spinal injury stops your bladder working and it feels like your bladder is going to explode it's rather surreal a nurse you serve in the pub every weekend is the one comes to do that catheter. She was good and offered to get someone else but I was past the point of no return and just didn't care so swallowed my pride and dignity 😂. You had such a traumatic event with this surgery, you went to hell and back. Be proud of yourself you dug deep and came out the other side :)

Fella, you have been through the wars haven't ya. It's a bit of an eye opener with how much a body can mentally knock seven bells out of ya....... at least you've got Clive, the video was so moving for him he shat himself and tried to drown you out by tuning the TV on, thats love right there. Although when I do the exact same thing when the wife talks to me, I'M an ignorant twat.

If I remember correctly I had my thyroid removed the day before you did. I didn’t wake up till the following morning. My throat was so sore. I was so hungry. They brought me mashed potatoes pudding a Pepsi and a huge chunk of meatloaf which I couldn’t believe as sore as I was!! I forced it down and it felt like swallowing glass. Your surgery was much more intense than mine was. I do remember them saying they would stop the surgery if they damaged the vocals.

My thyca was the size of a golf ball and stretched my vocal cord and paralyzed it. It's scary not knowing if or when you get a track. See Joe's new video today. Not good.😢

Well something similar I suppose is my psoriasis flare ups that sometimes appear on that part of my neck causing all sorts of problems with my voice and breathing even my vision. They put me on a medicine which sort of calms it most of the time. I've been considering creating a personal channel instead of just this gaming channel because some days I can't ignore feeling sick and I once had a very busy interesting life. I took care of my girlfriend through her years battling cancer and having surgeries so I can understand. She used to make this cross eyed funny face to cheer people up.

I'm lucky in that my neck dissection surgery didn't produce the difficult side effects you experienced. Like you however, I had a five centimeter tumour that has since be removed.
