My Time Alone Inside Of Cape Coast Slave Dungeon in Ghana 🇬🇭 Opened My Eyes Even More

I spent some time by myself inside of the male slave dungeon at Cape Coast slave dungeon in Ghana 🇬🇭 . It was quiet and peaceful but i knew it was a crime scene. Those who perished in those dungeons and those who were terrorized there will never be forgotten. It was a surreal experience.
I have no excuse to show up with anything less than my best!

It is a great thing that the descendants of the formally enslaved have managed to changed the narrative and call those pits dungeons instead of castles.

Am a Christian but am trying to figure out how pple calling themselves christians were worshiping God up in the rooms and beneath there were people crying in pain knowing very well they were the cause of their pain. Heartless indeed

It religion type of christianity. For God is not a religious God but a king who want the world to know about his kingdom and be part of this beautiful kingdom. Religion was establsh to enslave people and to turn people or christians away from worshiping the true believng God who has a kingdom.

This is very emotional for me just watching you walk these hallways. I can visualize some of those captured Africans lining the hallways, women, men, and children waiting to be put on ships to the "new world", so sad. Their heart was broken and they were petrified. Many thought it was the end of their lives. I have never been to Africa but home to visit one day in the near future.

Jay… I’m so happy for you- your growth and the way you’ve been chosen for this work in the Kingdom is awe inspiring. I wanted to stay longer so badly😰 so I could try to wrap my mind around it all. ➡️Have you ever wondered why those dungeons still remain- It’s far more than tourism or remembrance. Before leaving Ghana I heard that powerful silent voice reminding me- Revelations 13:10. The Most High God’s promises will never return void. APTTMH

I feel your pains brother Jay even though I am a descent of the enslaved what really happened back then has decimated the continent of Africa coupled with the colonialism which is still affecting many aspects of lives and systems that were put in place but gradually the new generations are beginning to dismantle some of the systems that were put in place by the colonialists.

Hey Jay glad to see them subscriber numbers growing! Keep doing it! This is going to be a little long, but bare with me. What I find interesting about this whole, old worn out slave narrative...is that the churches in a number of these dungeons (if not in all of them) were built first (before the dungeons). Or, either, the building had initially served as a religious house before it actually became the slave dungeon. For instances, at Elmina - I don't remember if our guide had told us this are not, because everyone was so emotional. but I think he did. However, I read where, the church was built before the dang dungeon, and then, the dungeon was built up around the church. Now, I don't know about everybody else, but to me, that raises a red flag. Even on Goree Island, I have a picture of the inside of the church that's on the island. Now this church is separate from the dungeons. But you have to go down this long winding path to get to the church, before you get to the dungeon. And, inside the church, the stain glass windows have images of the disciples. The disciples are black, but guess what color Jesus is? It's just bull. And, that bull narrative about the enslaved Africans coming only from West Africa....not buying it and never did! And now with the new report on Harvard's University's involvement in the slave trade that just came out - you have Harvard Slave Raiders selling and buying enslaved people in the West Indies..and there's 80 more colleges and universities that were doing the same thing, or at least something similar. The lies are unraveling more and more each day. I mean, I don't know exactly how it went down, but I will never be convinced that African chiefs across the whole doggone continent decided to sell millions of their people into slavery...I mean each one did the exact same thing as the next one, for over 300 years. And, then all of sudden, within 25-30 years, after the continent had loss almost half of its population due to the Arab and Trans-Atlantic slave trades, the people (Europeans) who wanted so badly to benevolently bow out of slavery, doubles back and implements the most insidious and heinous form of colonization known to man for another 60-100 years. They can say what they want, but I call straight b.s. ☹️🤔🥱

People on the continent probably call this place a castle because to me it appeared that it was a big compound with accommodation for the slaves and those who captured them. From high ranking to low rank. The church was such a central part of their lives that they build one on the premises

Anyone believing forced baptism didn't take place is just dumb. They attempted to take; languages; rituals, names; culture; religion.... almost everything. It's amazing how much of mother Africa still remains though. They couldn't take the drum, the soul, the mind of our people which took aeons to cement.

East Africa was a late participant in the transatlantic slave trade. It was only in the 1770s that a regular trade in slaves to the French islands of Mauritius and Réunion began from points on the East African coast. Small numbers of slaves had been carried around the Cape for more than a century. But as planters on St Domingue cried out for labour, this trade became more profitable and systematic, particularly as the French king agreed to subsidise the shipment of slaves to the island.
