When I first got my Strat the first thing I wanted to play instinctively was Purple Haze, Hendrix is the best of them all

Well... since Santa brought me a Strat for xmas. It looks like I'll be studying up on my Jimi. Thanks for the inspiration!

My cousin, who was an administrative assistant for Capital Records gave me two albums for Christmas, 1969 to expand my "musical horizons", Jerry Butlers "Ice on Ice", and an unreleased album called "Band of Gypsies ". I was 14 at the time. I'm eternally grateful to her!

Would love a lesson on that All along the watch tower bit you played. I know youve done lessons on the main riffs already but would love to play the rest!

Hendrix is STILL without a doubt the greatest of all time. When I was a kid in the 60's, I didn't especially enjoy his music...I was totally a Beatles kid and Hendrix was too out there. But much later in life I started playing guitar because of my love for Stevie. It was actually through Stevie that I circled back and started to learn about how Jimi influenced the direction of music back when he was alive...and I was completely blown away at what I learned. I have so much respect for what he accomplished and as much as I connected with Stevie and never thought I'd love anyone more, I think Hendrix has surpassed Stevie on my personal list. Stevie definitely inspired me more, but Hendrix has a greater awe factor...I still can't believe how much he did in his short lifetime. He remains hands down and without even anyone close the GOAT.

I’ve learned so much this past year and a half I’ve been playing and it’s all from you… I bring my guitar into work and practice and was told to start a RU-vid channel and give lessons but I said everything I learned was from “Marty Schwartz” on RU-vid and it’s not possible for me or anyone I’ve seen to teach it anymore clear and thorough. Band of Gypsies Is one of the best live albums ever recorded. It’s a shame there was not a film crew to document it. I mean it was New Year’s Eve the end of the 60s and it’s Hendrix and nobody thought to film it??? Hey Marty, I would definitely watch your 90s sitcom, ha! In 1980 I jumped into the jimi hole. I stayed there for 6 months and came out a much better player. Great video! Hendrix had great changes also triad riffs.

I have to admit I have a tele and a strat and I love Marty Schwartz he is my favorite guy I have been watching his videos since I was 10 years old 😇😇 and I am now 12 years old I have now have these guitars strat and tele and I have been playing for 1 in a half years thx to Marty I have learned several songs due to his lessons I have approved my guitar skills this is a special message to Marty I love your videos keep it up one day you will be in a band again and earn lots of money no only on RU-vid but on a band. you used to play in a band called wise monkeys and it was the best I even though I wasn’t around when It was the old age I still loved that band one last thing keep it up and hope you liked my speech :)
