yes yes yes, brand new to indoor hydro gardening. picking up three aerogardens today in a fb package deal. Have two toddlers, looking to get them more hands on!
Yay, just planted Uzbek carrots About a week ago, good to hear some feedback about them. Love the irony of a massive cup saying enjoy the little things. Thanks for the recommendations, especially the tomatoes!!!
It is my second favourite cup! I have another one that says the same thing but it’s not quite so extra LOL. Glad you found the video helpful I’ll be doing a seed haul video soon of ALLLLLL the new seeds I got for this year. I honestly have no idea where I am going to put them all but that’s not the point LOL
@@The_IndoorGardener lol, I will follow and watch, very interested! I love baker creek, and am also a wanna be farmer stuck in a more urban setting (for now) using lots of pots to feed my growing passion, I haven’t been able to plant half of what I bought over the last two years, and just added 8 more things to my cart any way, I’m pitiful 😂
@@Adam5576 You and me both...I have enough seeds for when I have a homestead. But for now I have a suburban backyard and more seeds in the mail! I even went and ordered 3 GreenStalks and a new metal raised bed to give myself more room to grow. Not to mention the indoor hydroponic systems I have AAAAAAND I have my eye on a grow tent for the basement 🤦
This video is right on time. Just bought several variety of seeds from Baker Creek didnt think it was legit site but now I'm reassured. Typed in black strawberry tomatoes and this video popped up.
I love this! I’ve been a loyal customer since 2014!! I’m going to have to note down some of your selections, those onions look fab! I am growing quite a few of these including the Charentais.
If you want a good pole bean recommendation try the tai soldier beans. They are a vigorous grower. If it wasn't for them being frost tender I bet they would grow like a perennial. They say bush habit but they definitely need a bit of support. I grew them on an arched trellis and they took over. I thought they were gonna grow more like a bush so I put like six seeds in they all germinated and took off.
Would love to learn and see more about your indoor garden as well :) I love baker creek seeds. Nasturdium is definatly on my list every year since it is my favorite edible plant 💚 I also enjoy the butter lettuce a lot since I grew up in Germany with it. Its over priced in stores here in the US and wrapped in lots of plastic. I love that it thrives in winter very well. An additional seed that I love is the Jibai cucumbers since I love to eat the skin and it's super thin. :) I enjoyed your tips, thank you :) and Ill definatly will try the melons you suggested and the beans 😁
I absolutely love Baker creek seeds! My annual order just arrived and I'm so excited!! I haven't tried most of your haul, I'll have to add some to my next order 😁
I swore wasn't gonna miss planting a spring garden. Like you...soo many choices and good seed at Baker Creek. Will be trying a few of your favs later on.
@@The_IndoorGardener The argentine squash has impressed me with its vigor! I am trying the Tihatian butter nut squash. It's 110 days, but likes heat and 20lb fruit
We are twins. Mushroom basket is FANTASTIC. It's so early for a large mater! Not my fav flavor wise though, but it's good. Charentais is life changing....omg. Love poblano, trying Blot for the first time this coming season. Sunrise Bumblebee? Gotta try the other Fred Hempel maters. Sunrise was my favorite, then I tried the Tiger series and the Agi red. Pink tiger...yum. Great video!!
I tried Lucky Tiger last year and its a new fave for sure. I have so many new tomatoes and other seeds to try this season. I may or may not have bought 80 new seed varieties from Baker Creek this winter... Now to find I way to plant them all! I'll have to check out the Agi red and pink tiger, thanks for suggesting some new varieties! Happy gardening!
@@The_IndoorGardener yeah, I may or may not have a seed hoarding "problem". I am planting at least 50 tomato plants in my garden, I have room for 40. Also have a suburban garden. We are converting another section of lawn to garden to make room for *cough* number of melon and squash vines. I'll def be checking back and seeing how your season is going. Happy gardening to you too!
@@8thcelisabeth Twinsies for sure 😂 I planted 50 tomato plants a few years ago in a space that should hold about 20! I have expanded the garden into the front yard and down the side of the house. Planing to add a shiitake mushroom log on the other side and I bought 3 Greenstalks and a new raised metal bed for the backyard.
Try wrapping some tulle netting around the stem or even over the head of the sunflower. It lets in sunlght and airflow but the animals don't like to touch it. I find it very cheap on eBay. Hope it helps.
@@The_IndoorGardener The mushroom basket looked really good so I’ll do that one, as well as the sunrise bumblebee tomato. Also gonna try the charentai, blue curled scotch kale, marketmore cucumber, and some scarlet goji berry seeds. Why are seeds so addicting LOL!
@@authenticalyssa LOL, I’m well over 300 varieties in my own collection!!! It’s amazing to me the vast varieties that exist that unless you start learning about heirloom seeds you will NEVER be exposed to! #plantnerd
I buy chocolate Habanero chili seeds from Baker every year, and I like them because they have a good germination. I also save seeds from the chilies that I grow. If you eat these chilies, you will not need coffee - I never drink it myself.
It’s one of the Personal Rise Gardens 😬 Love indoor season and the fact that it means you can grow year round! I’m about to plant some cauliflower in my Family Rise Garden
My kids and I don’t like tomatoes but the white current cherry tomatoes from baker creek were so good we all ate them while in the garden. They never made it in the house. It’s an indeterminate variety though.
Glad you found a variety you guys like! Grocery store tomatoes are pretty boring. My husband hates tomatoes and he likes the sunrise bumblebee and also we just discovered Amethyst Jewel from Wild Boar Farms. Sungold is another one people rave about, I am trying it out for the first time this year.
Hi! You could grow the butter crunch lettuce, red swan bush bean and nasturtiums no problem. You should be able to grow the poblano and blot peppers as well you will just need to top them so they don’t get too tall. Peppers also take a lot of space so you wouldn’t want to plant more than one and I would be keeping a lot of the other spaces empty (with the holes covered as you don’t want algae!). With a LOT of intervention you COULD grow a charentais melon. I grew one in my aerogarden farm but I had to hand pollinate it which is a lot of work but it was fun! Hope that helps! Kir
Hi Simone, I went back and looked and it mentions it is a short indeterminate which is hilarious! I have found that it grows like a determinate, thus my mistake in classification :) Mine never grow much more than 4 feet and seem to set most of their fruit at the same time in determinate fashion. But no matter what type it is, it is definitely delicious! How you grown it before?
I got some of the white tomesol seeds as a free seeds one time but I haven’t grown it yet. I have heard they are more smoky like a purple Cherokee. Let me know how they taste when you do try them!!!!
