Hello Everyone! It is already the middle of 2024, if you can believe that. And that means, Best of the Year, So Far Lists! So, I am here today to tell you about my top 10 reads of 2024 so far. I think that this is a pretty diverse list, full of books that look at our world from many different perspectives. I hope I can convince you to pick up one or two (or all of them). So, let’s get started.

Russell, you are a joy to listen to. You have a gift for succinctly condensing the gist of books without gimmicks or artifice, and I appreciate that. It’s like listening to a friend who also loves books but is much better read. I’ve finished 4 from your list and added several others to my TBR list. Thank you. 😊

Thank you for another delightful video. Adding Bear and Come And Get It to my TBR. While waiting for my library hold of Real Americans, I picked up Goodbye, Vitamin, which you mentioned in a previous video. I loved it so much. Five stars. Can’t wait for Real Americans. Looking forward to Kiley Reid’s book. She was the main speaker at our annual book festival a couple of years ago and was a delight! Very inspiring, funny, insightful, and down-to-earth. I enjoyed Such A Fun Age. Looking forward to this one as well. I adored In Tongues, which was another great recommendation by you. Stay cool, and thanks again for a great video. I love the way you talk about books.

Hi Russell. It's good to see you again. I haven't read any of these, but "James" is at the top of my list.. I loved "The Trees" and I'm looking forward more of Everett. Your AC didn't bother me because I couldn't hear it over sound of my own AC. My great-grandfather was born in Norway inside the Arctic Circle, and I am not built for 100 degree weather.

Oh, I loved this! I haven't even thought about my top 10 of the year, mostly because I can't believe it's July! I added Sipworth and Bear to my TBR. I have Martyr and Real Americans on my shelf already. I too loved James. I just finished one I think is a very Russell book - How to Read a Book by Monica Wood. Have you read it? I loved everything about it. Plus, it has older(ish) characters, which we both like. FYI, it is not an instruction manual 😂 It's friggin' hot here too (34°C today); stay cool!

Hey there! The only one on your list that I read was Martyr, which I really liked! I will have to check out the others! Right now I am reading The Road to the Country by Chigozie Obioma..currently 140 some pages in and liking it so far!

This list is terrific and now I want to read them all. James is my best read so far this year. I am counting the days until Tell Me Everything appears. I've been apologizing for my noisy AC in every video!

AC is a must have! I think that James may move up to #1 by the end of the year. You will not regret the Strout! It is amazing.
