Cool and entertaining video, MaltActivist, as always! I agree with almost everything you said. PC6 was crazy good, almost unbelievably so, and Kilchoman is bound to be a future superstar on the whisky stage. I loved Ardbeg Alligator all right but Rollercoaster remains my favourite. Also I remember Talisker 175th Anniversary very fondly, and Longrow 18yo is one of my top 10 malts. Well done again - cheers and look forward to the next video. 😄

Took me a long time to not be put off by any peat but when I finally broke through a whole new group of bottles to explore became available. Favorite peated distillery bottle so far is Port Charlotte MRC:01. Some other favorites include, PC 10, Kilchoman 100% Islay barley releases, Longrow NAS, Laphroig 10 CS, Ardbeg Uigeadail. Also enjoy chasing dusty pre Viking Hype Highland Park bottles too. Recently opened a independent "The Ultimate" Bunnahabhain-Staoisha 5yr. 7mo. 60.1% from a scraped re charred hogshead that is Outstanding ! Wish I had bought two more. Cheers

Of all time I'd have to add Port Ellen and Brora. I collected/drank both more than a decade ago when they were much cheaper than now. Notable bottles Port Ellen 2nd Annual Release, Brora 1977 26yo Douglas Laing Old & Rare Platinum. Sláinte!

No Ledaig???? Hard to argue with your other choices but I don't think I could leave Ledaig out. So many fantastic independent bottlings as well as the in-house bottlings. Tops my list.

Nice vid. You missing Ledaig that broke out of its dusty image in the past 3 years!! Great dirty stuff!! Caol Ila definitely underrated (Due to being not as rare as others). Took me a while to appreciate it now I have a lot of Indie Bottles that didn't break the bank.

What do you think about Ardbeg corryvreckan? Never had it and there’s not many reviews of that out there, I’ve heard it’s really good but when it comes to Ardbeg you’re the king

I dont know any whiskey that I loved as much as Laphroaig when i first tried it. Then I got the QA Cask. But lately I dont know why but it just seems too medicinal and antitode'y. So Im kind of over it which is a shame. I also find Double Black quite enthralling despite its industrious nature. After watching this video, I've asked someone to procure an Ardberg for me so thanks MA.

Great video but you didn't mention the best Laphroaig for me, the Lore! Absolutely tasty and complex, the best whisky i've ever tried besides Octomore.

Alligator! My favorite whisky of all time. I've searched the world for another bottle. None to be found at (nearly) any price.

Ardbeg and Octomore aside Bruichladdich PCs are amazing! I uesd to have the PC12 and my God what a whisky! Sadly in my country it is hard to get many whiskies so I have to rely on my company trips abroad. Not really sure why but my love for Lagavulin has withered over the years. They seem less nuanced somehow. Laphroaig can be amazing, but some of their releases are underwhelming. Kilchoman has some really nice releases, but too many that just seem to be off balance (to me). Talisker again some amzing stuff, but these days I think all the really good ones are hard to come by. Highland Park has to be no 1 over all for me even if it is mildly smoky compared to many others. But sadly again the best stuff is starting to go out of my reach. Sorry for the long text, nobody cares 😀 But smoky whisky gets my mind racing and mouth salivating. Slainte!

Great list! I definitely agree that the latest Uigeadails have been pretty disappointing. Got a 2020 bottling and was very let down. Also not completely happy with the latest Corryvreckan either :/

Personally I would not have included Springbank and would have added Bunnahabhain Moine Oloroso as possibly the greatest of all time. However your entertainment factor surpasses anything else of importance.

We have to enjoy them while we can... the peat shortage is happening already.

How is it possible that Ledaig was a top pick of the year, but didn’t make the cut for a top 10 Smokey whiskies of all time? Something tells me that this Peat-o-phile has more than just a bottle of OCTOMORE lost in his closet…
