I agree with the snap on ratchets. As far as cordless tools, I'm rocking with Milwaukee. I started with the electric ratchet you were dawging on 😂, then I got a stubby impact gun both running the M12 batteries. Ended up getting a high torque impact gun running the M18 battery and haven't been disappointed yet. The 5yr warranty on the tool itself is hard to beat. Luckily for me I haven't experienced broken battery clips or battery connectivity issues. Thanks for sharing your top 10 from Snap on.

Justin, As a mechanic who owns about 80% Snap On I really love your approach to tools. Over the years I’ve also added Koken japan(you gotta try it!) Wright, Williams, MAC, Sunex, ICON, Knipex, Gearwrench and USA craftsman. Thinking that one brand has the best of everything is very short sighted/ignorant. Strong work brotha. You will be at 100k subs before you know it!

I agree with you 1000% on every thing except the scan tools. I have the Triton D10 and I hate the thing. One of my biggest complaints is I spent 6k on it and it’s not wireless. Every other scan tool on the market is wireless but if you want a wireless snap on you gotta spend 12k on the Zeus. Second thing is if you don’t keep the active subscription on it (100 a month) it’s basically a paper weight. Ya it can still scan codes and read live data, but u cant do every thing it was intended to do. I bought a top don phenoix plus for 900 bucks and that thing is light years ahead of the snappy. Love it. Here’s the other kicker.. I can’t seem to even give the triton away. The snap on guy offered me $1000 trade in for it even tho it’s less than a year old… let that sink in. Like I said agree with you on every thing else. I buy a TON of snap on but will never buy another scan tool from them again.

Have a Triton d10 at work. Thing is slow, freezes up all the time. I bought a new Phoenix Lite 2,(aprox 1k, and wireless) blows the Triton outta the water, esp with bi directional ability. Triton has the scope though...
@puremayhemFTW
@puremayhemFTW 2 месяца назад
@@JamesSmith-xs7sr yep that’s the only reason I’m gonna keep my triton is for the scope. Unless I can find someone who wants to trade for a nice box for my house.

Learning new systems is tough. Taking notes helps. I'm currently in this situation working for the first dealership on big trucks, all factory software, never was trained and just expected to understand it right away. Being a technician is tough, especially class 8 trucks

Their high leverage combination pliers (HL138ACPG) are just amazing for putting more force when you don't have the ability to push down hard due to tight spaces. They multiple your hand force by 4 times. And one of my fave ratchets is their indexing 3/8 drive one (FHD80MPDT) with the hard handle.

Can't really argue with the list too much. Lol. I have a Verus, I've got a lot of snap on over the last few years. Just ordered wrenches. Flank plus. Ball joint press is the bomb! I dont care about the price, I'm the only mechanic at the feedlot I work at, time is extremely important. The faster and more efficiently I can get a job done the better. Whichever tool I can get that makes it the easiest and fastest, wins. I've been told by multiple people "buy it nice or buy it twice" I've swapped out a lot of cheaper tools over the years. Don't regret it. But I started cheap and worked up.

Snap On 14.4 ratchets are far better than any competitor. Completely agree. No issues with battery fitment at all.

Love the snap on angle heads and the flarenut crowfeet. Have em in metric and standard. Payments/ credit. I've had an account with snap on since eighty seven through variius dealers. But they're always really cool with me. And I only get my credit up to say 500 bucks. And then I pay it all the way back down and then I start over but I don't let it get out of control. The credit is great because it's there when you need it. They can get you the things you need when you need them.

Honestly I think Milwaukee has really stepped their game up. Now in 2020-2022 I’ll say their 3/4 and 1/2 high torque impact was crap. The thing literally would shake itself to pieces and the battery issues were annoying. I was reluctant to give them a try this year because I’ve always been a dewalt guy but my drill and sawzall are as from 2008 so I needed and upgrade. I’m extremely happy with the Milwaukee m12 fuel and m18 fuel lineup so far. Out of all my tools the only one I haven’t got to try out yet is the 1/2 high trouvé with the red forge battery. My dad got to use it one day while I was out I. The field and used it to get a stuck valve out of one of the tanks and he said it came out like butter. My suggestion to anyone looking to buy into a platform check out the warranty and if you get good deals. I get good deals because the company we buy at work sells Milwaukee so I get better prices and I also keep an eye on sales at other places like home depo/ home hardware.

I have a Snap On air hammer. A lot of my coworkers keep going cheap or mid priced on an air hammer. Every time they get in a bind where theirs struggle, the Snap On gets it done with in a few seconds while their is at it for a several minutes and not always getting it done. Their anchor pin press for truck and trailer brakes is top notch on the specialty side, the only one that will take a pounding from a 3/4 impact gun. .

You’re spot on with using other brands of tools but Snap-on definitely has a good product. Once my hands touched the soft grip instinct handle screwdrivers I can’t for the life of me think of touching anything else. They’re like lathering up your girl with suntan lotion on the beach kind of good. lol

I had a gearwrench set of O2 sensor wrench set ok but not great I went with snapon sensor wrench surprisingly it would slip if sensor was extremely tight a couple years ago went on matco truck and looked at theirs it was heavy duty and works great even put a pipe on it to extend the handle hasn't slipped yet I know matco doesn't make anything they rebrand but I haven't found one that looks like their O2 sensor tool

Good video I appreciate the response on Milwaukee electric tools. I personally have not had the issues you described. Not saying your experiences are not true believe me. I have dealt with issues that no body else had dealt with and that’s the worst. Having issues with anything that your the only person experiencing so no body believes you. As for the wrench’s YES I absolutely agree with Snap on ratcheting wrenches and the regular ones being the BEST IN THE BUSINESS. The first time I used a Snap on wrench I was immediately sold. Problem is the sets I want are 1000 dollars a piece. Unless someone knows how to get the full sets of ratcheting wrenches go to and regular wrenches for less

Snap On does have good cordless tools. I happen to be team Makita (For reasons beyond mechanic work) but yeah Snap On is a quality company. I really think doing combat sports is awesome. Following your passions will keep you grounded for sure. You will piece together the job aspect as you go. You will be able to apply those skills in ways you may not have even considered yet. 🤙🏽

Not a fan of SO diagnostic products too many issues over the years so it's a no on that. My favorite screwdrivers today are Vessel. My favorite ball joint kits are the Astro Goliath kits. Go to for snap ring is also a Astro or GearWrench sets. The high APR is like an Indian tribe payday loan scam. What about Jeff Scott ?

Scan tools are just too expensive and need constant updating, not something a tech should have to be expected to supply. I have no idea what the standard practice is at a dealer or independant. The shop I worked at (small shop - 2 bays), we had an OTC and a Mac - the Mac was a dissapointment from day 1. I would have never supplied my own. I have since bought a Launch since I am now on my own, and its good for the money.

oh come on why not it's not like some of them are crooks that double charge your card on "accident" or price gouge you with a extra inflated price markup all the while having a huge smile and talking to you like you are there best friend. Most of them are good people. Just stay below 500 bucks owed and don't stack tabs on multiple trucks at the same time. And whoever is the most honest and has the least hassle on warranty claims. Is who you should give you business to.

Well yeah!!! Snap On owns the market because they essentially invented it, perfected it, and are constantly refining it. Hobo freight isn’t hurting SO. Period
