Nice video. For me, the number one thing to consider is actually injury prevention. Never mind if you play 2% better or worse - if you get injured you don't play at all. The most common racket-induced injury is of course the "tennis elbow". Here in Denmark it seems like the vast majority of padel players are people like me in their 40's or 50's who come from either tennis, badminton or squash (and tend to use the technique from those sports when swinging a padel racket, rather than correct padel technique). My number one tip to those players right now is to not even consider a head-heavy racket unless they have really good technique and are not injury prone. Just these last months so many of the people I play with have struggled with tennis elbow and they ALL have been playing with head heavy rackets. And they don't even need a head heavy racket. Power shouldn't really be a major consideration in padel until you are playing at a fairly high level. If you give a beginner or an intermediate player a head heavy power racket they are just gonna make more mistakes, have a slower reaction time at the net, more likely to get injured, and the smash is only gonna be slightly more effective as the smash is really much more about technique than which racket you play with. I playtested a head heavy racket that I really liked, but could feel it in my joints (wrist, elbow, shoulder) after just 15 minuted of playtesting. And I even have pretty good technique. IMO, the head heavy diamond rackets are for players who have great technique, are young/not injury prone, and already play at a level where they have excellent control and could benefit from that extra pop on their technically good smashes and Viboras. And this is only a very small segment of the padel playing population - at least here in Denmark.

@@EverythingPadel Your points are all great, I just feel like this is probably the most important one for a lot of players. I also think your point #9 is very important - there really is no "best" racket. Personal preference is close to impossible to predict. Even two very similar players might have quite different preferences. As a sales person you can suggest a bunch of rackets to try based on player profile, but you can't really predict which one in that bunch the player will actually prefer. The optimal approach when looking for a new racket is to get a bunch of rackets to playtest based on your player profile and expert advice, but then make your decision based on how you like the racket during playtesting. I wouldn't even overthink it - just pick the one that somehow "feels right". I picked the NOX Tempo WPT after playtesting a bunch of rackets and the sales person was a bit surprised as he said that most people don't really like it that much and suggested the more popular NOX AT10 instead, but I just liked the Tempo more than any of the others. It just felt right to me for some inexplicable reason.

I've been watching your videos lately and I like them a lot man! Keep it up! I do have a question about rackets in general. I started playing a couple months ago and I am still "intermediate" I have been looking for a racket to buy, and from my point of view, I was thinking about buying one that is originally 300€ but with discount (because its from 2021 or before) for 150€ or less. Is this a good choice? or should i just buy a 2022 150€ normal price racket? What is your opinion? From my point of view the 300€ will have way better quality and its just a better deal for the money (since I'm buying it 60+% off), no? Thank you so much

Thats a great idea David! You don't wanna buy something from too many years ago, because the materials and tech changes a lot. But from a year ago would be fine.

Which racket do you prefer, Adipower 3.1 or Metalbone Hrd? And why.
@EverythingPadel
@EverythingPadel 2 года назад
Both are heavily power based rackets. Adipower 3.1, feels better for the smashing, so I would have to say that!

@@EverythingPadel I'm still looking for a padel racket with the largest sweet spot to forgive me when I don't hit the centre, and with good antivibration system to prevent tennis elbow that sometimes makes me stop for some days. I'm using an Adipower Lite Ctrl 3.1 atm but I woukd like to buy another one. Was looking at Nox Equation or the new Head Gravity, did you test it?
