Just got into cigars here almost a month ago now, I appreciate your short reviews on each of these sticks; gives me a good idea of what to be on the lookout for. To hear you speak so well on them makes me even more anxious to find them lol the aging thing is a cool concept as well and would definitely take hella patience on my part to age them but hey I’ll give it a shot when the time comes lol thanks again for an awesome video!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of cigars! Aging can make certain cigars outstanding. It doesn’t work for every cigar but most Cubans, Dominicans, and Connecticuts do extremely well. 😃
@@DLovWife Have u ever tried the Sobremesa Brulee? It's one of my favorites, its a Connecticut made like the old Connecticut were, I would reccomend getting the Sobremesa Brulee Gordo, the Robusto is very different, and worse in my opinion, the Toro is a good option but go for the Gordo, delightful smoke.
@@DLovWife Well, Im kinda new to the cigar world, just got into it a couple of months ago, so I appreciate having videos like these to get good recommendations, so thank you, much love to u and ur wife, I can only hope I find myself a woman that'll enjoy a cigar with me.
Great cuban cigar choices! I love both of those cubans. I have no doubt that you will enjoy them. I haven’t tried every Padron aged but I know the 1964, 1926, and classic series age extremely well. I mean, you haven’t had a Padron unless you have had one that has 2 to 3 additional years on it. Once you do, you will be upset that you haven’t been aging them the entire time. Haha good luck on your cigar journey my friend!
@@DLovWife I fell like almost all cigars with some body to them will benefit from being laid down for at least a year. The longer the better. My problem is I'm impatient! That's why I'm buying boxes.
I don’t know about the body part specifically playing a part in aging. I have smoke cigars that taste like nothing when I first try them, but over the course of a year or two. They develop into very complex and delicious cigars. This whole thing is an experiment really. Some cigars become great and some do not. I found that more lighter cigars develop better and most darker cigars do not. But there are exceptions to the rule.
Well done bud. I must say ; I think there is credibility lost with most reviewers who don’t include Cubans. The ones you chose are seriously heavy hitters in Habanos. And some of my personal favourites. I’m not well versed in new worlds but I’m going to take your selections seriously and check them out, based solely on your astuteness for picking Cubans. Great review.
Man, I love Cuban cigars. I feel like some of the reviewers out there try to down play them all the time, but there is no comparison. The Cubans flavor profile is extremely unique and only a few blenders can get close to mimicking it. Most have bad experiences because they get the cigars shipped to them and then they smoke them right away. They have no patience concerning cigars. Cubans need ample rest time before they are ready to smoke and They only get better with age.
You nailed it bud. The Bbf and petit Edmundo are cigars in my regular rotation ( although the petit has sky rocketed in price the last couple years) The Vigia , in my opinion, is the best regular production cigar Habanos produces. I also keep a RYJ short or wide church in steady rotation. So we’re def on the same page. I also keep the Upmann #2 in regular rotation and would highly recommend it.
Man, I need to get my hands on some wide Churchills. They are just so hard to find. They sell out so fast. Haha I love the short though but I feel like I’m going to really enjoy the wide. I do have some half Corona Upmann cigars. They are extremely good. I never knew leather could be so creamy and sweet. It also has a nice little zesty note to it. Very unique and good.
Man I'm late to the party. Great list. that industrial isn't on the radar gotta change that. I'm hunting that bandalero. I don't see how anyone can't get flavor out of that Chinchalle... Fire. Oh, and that Monte!! My favorite is the 2 and 4 tho
The house blend by industrial cigars is really good. It was blended by principle cigars and I really enjoy their cigars. Industrial Cigars has a ton of Bandolero traviesos and the house blend. You are in for a good time! 🥳 Man, I’m telling you. That Chinchalle is fire. I just don’t understand way people hate that cigar. Blows my mind. I actually have never tried the No. 4. I had someone else mention that one to me recently, so it’s definitely going on the list. Haha I do like the No. 2 but the chocolate note coming from the petite Edmundo is better in my opinion. It’s like a milk chocolate note. Very tasty.
I’m thinking of ordering some Cubans but I heard that some orders get through & sometimes they get confiscated. Have you experienced this? Or do you just travel for you Cubans?
Great question! I like to dry box between 55% and 60%. Currently I’m at 55%. If the humidity drops anymore, then I will be adding a little bit of humidification to it. I don’t like there to be too large of a disparity between how I store my cigars and the humidity in the box that I dry cigars in. I don’t want to shock the cigars. I’m only aiming at opening the cigar up a little more in a slow and controlled way.
Weird hearing people talk about aging Padron...they come 5 years minimum aged. I can almost guarantee that 1926 tastes the same early after acquiring, and after 2 years of aging it.
naw man. sure some of the tobacco has been aged in bales, but Padron does not age its cigars for a long time after they are rolled. you can age literally any cigar, and under proper conditions you will find changes to the cigar. that goes for all cigars, the taste and strength absolutely changes as the years go by. You should SERIOUSLY go check out one of Davidoff of Londons recent videos. he explains how and why to age cigars.
