McKayla Maroney was extremely Underrated as an all around gymnast only because of 2 things. #1, her vault was out of this world great. #2. One unimaginable, untimely fall out of hundreds done beyond greatness.

Maroney is so widely known for her vault but she had such great form on pretty much everything she did. Cheng Fei was such a delight of a gymnast. China should invest in more like her. So powerful and yet with that great Chinese form. Not the biggest Raisman fan but she gets so much undeserved hate. People blow out of proportion every single thing she might not do as well but completely ignore all the great things of her as a gymnast. Also you never hear such hate towards gymnasts who have the same weaknesses Aly does. Like Mustafina fans criticizing Raisman's amanar... The nerve! Not to hate on Mustafina, of course, I love her. I for one don't think a twisting form issue makes a gymnast any less deserving. They certainly get the adequate deduction and move on... People should as well. Komova might have the best toepoint I've seen on a gymnast. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I love Douglas on bars. She was never quite the best but there is something about her swing and her form that I really enjoy. Miller was such a graceful gymnasts. Her form was impeccable and she had a lightness to her. She made gymnastics look easy and floaty. Nastia's flexibility tho. Oh Podkopayeba! Always so precise. She had such a great rhythm to her routines. Biles is just such a beast. There is something so incredibly satisfying about watching those incredibly difficult skills performed so well. Not saying that these I mentioned are my favorites. Just random comments. On a personal note, I would add Produnova. Always loved her aggressive but very stylish approach to gymnastics. Also love Shang Shunsong. I could always see in her eyes how much she wanted it and how much she's had to go through to get there. I was always rooting for her to do great. Plus her floor routine was insanely difficult. Sui Lu is another one I personally love. Her beam was everything. And Zamolodchikova. One of the best ones ever IMO

Youre favs are amazing! Been a fan. Since the 1970's myself and have seen worlds and olympics and regional events for 50 plus years. I will make a top 20 of my favs someday but real quick here my #1 fav and the best(my opinion)i have ever been blessed to see is definately Aliya Mustafina!!

Lovely list! I have a soft spot for a lot of the current Dutch team (especially Eythora Thorsdottir -- if she upgrades overall, which I'm sure she will as she's still young, her unique style and artistry will be formidable in the next quad). A random comment about Cheng Fei -- I love how confidently she presents to the judges when she sticks her landings, especially on vault (see 3:19 for example). It's like she throws her entire upper half up and back with so much confidence and I just love how she puts herself out there. Anyone else noticed this?

Favorite not best is what the title says. I would definitely have Mary Lou Retton on the list though. But I do agree with your top 5. I’m bias to our Americans gymnasts but I always enjoyed watching Svetlana Khorkina. For her height, she was amazing.

All of the above and I'd go back even further and add Svetlana Boginskaya and in the 70's the great Ludmilla Tourischiva who won gold all around 1972 Olympics (while Olga Korbut got the attention) and then gold all around and every single event event at worlds, 1975, where she broke the bars.

I'm just thrilled that they were smart enough to have nadia in the top two. I'm old enough that I saw and remember her competing and she was absolutely amazing,doing things that had never been done(like scoring perfect tens!)
