Really good video homie. You provide a really well thought out and balanced analysis for each product to suit different households. Thank you once again
Thanks for the video, looking to change, currently using S7 for 3yrs+ which is driving me nuts with the bumper error, obstacle detection and water streaks. Noticed that the mopping makes my white grooves dirtier over time. Dreame looks good, shall consider.
With live camera hacker are able to hack in that for sure if they really want to do it. It is depend on the manufacture what security configuration in the firmware.
I've been using RobotPox for a few months now, and it's truly changed the way I clean my home. The convenience it offers is unmatched - I can schedule it to clean while I'm at work, and I come back to a spotless floor every time. Not to mention, its powerful suction ensures that even pet hair and debris are picked up efficiently. It's like having a diligent little helper that never complains and always gets the job done!
Its a hard one. You are comparing a flagship (L20) against the T20 and Revo 2nd tier robots, where the T20 and Revo are priced the same, and the L20 around $700 more. Would have been more "fair" to compare the L10, T20 and Revo and the L20, X2 Omni and S8 as these are each manufacturers flagship. You would expect a $2500AUD unit to beat a $1800AUD unit.. The flagship model X2 has a built in water tank, lifts higher on carpet and is square (to get closer to edges), higher suction, and without a top lidar it has a shorter height to get under things (like couches/beds). I feel like you have reviewed a Corvette, Mustang and a Lamborghini.. 😏 Great review and testing though! 👌
the tests are just to let you see the results for each of them, not comparing but rather recommending these 3. No idea how else I can name the title of the video. X2 and S8 are not there because I don't find them worth the money
Alex i remember you commenting on my FFXIV videos - i just wanted to say thank you for the video, I literally was thinking of buying a Robot Vacuum in SG, and this video was a lifesaver.
We're leaving Deebot for a Roborock Q Revo. The mapping is ABYSMAL with Deebot and it seems Roborock has much better detections and mapping. Looking forward to ours arriving later this week. Dreame looks interesting but it's a bit out of our price range we want to spend and I'm not confident enough with my plumbing skills to attempt hooking it up to a water supply.
Heck I’m over hear considering the L30 bc of the mop pads extend to get my wall edges clean. If I have to spend $$$ then it better make me coffee too. 😆 Seriously though Dream has 2.0 rating on BBB. And Roborock slams the ads too much pushing their products. I like the S8+ ultra whatever but what happens when they phase these out?
@@AlexTeo Unfortunately L20 won't have its main adventage (clean water tank refilling and dirt water disposal) available in Polish disrubution of these robots. Dreame Poland just confirmed it. This is weird strategy that the same model has its features cut down on various markets.
@@Agnus78 yeah that is very unfortunate, it is probably some implications that we are not familiar with since it needs to hook up to your water piping. I am so glad that this is officially supported in Singapore
the swivel motion when mopping near a wall is an older program setting from L10s when it didnt have extend mop. You can turn off the swing motion by go to setting -> wider coverage of Edges and Corners -> toggle off. Then it will stop swinging its body when near the wall.
sorry but what you described is not available in the setting. The setting for mop extend is under setting -> Intelligent mopping setting -> AI-driven MopExtend
Don't think this was mentioned or reviewed but all 3 brand uses NON-reusable dust bag which cost at least $20 SGD and above from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Sort of like paying subscription fees ($20 to $30 ) periodically every 2 to 3 months to ensure the vacuum system stays optimal. From my brief research, one can probably extend the lifespan of the NON-reusable dust bag by emptying it but eventually the bag will be clogged which affect the performance. Any chance you could test whether the system allows disposal of dust manually e.g. directly from the robot instead of having to replace the dust bag? One should also consider the lifespan of the battery and that the dust bag model may eventually be obsolete forcing you to replace the entire system perhaps every 2 to 3 years. So on top of the vacuum price of $1000 + you may well be spending an additional $200+ per year and perhaps even more for the other spare parts to upkeep the system.
have u tried eufy x10 pro . need to decide between eufy and dreame l20 . eufy x10 is at 606 $ including replacement kit and additional 10% cashback l20 is at 630
Hi Alex, noted that you also keep a fluffy dog at home. I am wondering among these robot vacuums you have tested in your reviews. Which robot vacuum stands out to detect dog poop as the last thing we would want from a robot vacuum is the pet waste being splattered all over during the sweeping and mopping of the floor.
You will want premium robot vacuums with camera, in this video only the dreame L20 has it, roborock S8 and ecovacs X2 as well. But i will say dont take the chance, if your dog poop is big and nicely shaped still fine, but what if the poop is watery due to bad stomach. Another way is if your dog is potty train, you can set no-go zone for that area, just dont fully rely on AI because its not 100% foolproof
@@AlexTeo I currently own Roborock S5 Max and I'm thinking about upgrading. I think about S8 and Dreame L20. Since I do not own a big house, just 50m2 apartment, I don't need a base station with all that fancy cleaning and auto-emptying features. But I need a real improvement in mopping...
@@16klu the idea is to go total handsfree regardless of the size, switchbot is coming out a model name s10, i have not tested it but it looks promising
Thanks for this video ! Do I understand correctly that the washing area with the L20 is now completely cleanable by removing it (like the Q Revo), which was not possible with the L10s?
Roborock has a good and efficient service center in singapore. Not sure about the other 2. This was useful for us when the roborock gave issues after 2 years. So this would be another consideration.
Hi Alex, great content! I've decided to purchase Dreame L20 after watching your video. Do you know the minimum height to allow the opening of the cover for under table or sink installation? Planning to put the base station under my desk.
Going off the robot vacuum topic here, am wondering if Alex or any viewers have a recommendation for air purifier. I keep seeing ads for Sterra Moon but haven’t really dived into my research. Hoping to hear some recommendations/ feedback to help narrow down my search. My basic research tells me we actually just need one with a HEPA filter & activated charcoal, all the other bells & whistles are totally unnecessary (unproven) & may even ironically pollute our earth. But any first hand experience with how much area a specific brand/ model can cover, difference you can physically feel, easy of cleaning, noise level & energy consumption will be great!
Hi Alex! I bought an Ecovacs x1 after seeing your review 😂 I'm wondering if you encountered any problems with the emptying of water from the cleaning sink with any of your robots? In my case, the suction from the cleaning sink to the dirty water tank is a regular issue despite maintenance. I will probably get a new robot to replace this next year but do not wish to be faced with the same issue. Any insights? Pls share as always! Thanks!
Most likely is because your dirty water tank is not placed properly, usually the case when its empty, just exert a bit of force to make sure its properly sit in
I am having the same problem, that just started this week. T10 Omni (china version), I have a 6 year warranty/guarantee so will call them if I can't fix it through the standard ways.
Thank you so much for this, Alex - super helpful! If you don't mind, could I check if this is still relevant as of July 2024, or is there a more diserable unit over the L20 that you'd prefer these days? :)
@@AlexTeo thanks Alex! Looking forward to this:) will likely be making a decision on which to go for based on your vid, save us all lots of time - thank you so much!!
Great review and tips mate, keep up the good work. But, Why did you exclude L10S Ultra, would you explain? I will buy one and my budget is tight, just as much to get a Q Revo or L10S Ultra, which are equally priced in my country. Should I go with Q Revo?
simply because it's not in my top 3. L10S is probably the cheapest model that is able to hook up to water pipes, but if you are not going to implement that then go for Q Revo
Will u be doing a more detailed review of the L20. Esp on the auto water kit and any pre-requisites for its installation? e.g. service yard location etc..
Th DreameBot L10 Ultra is stilla good choice. But a question: in the L20 Ultra you stated -Install and forget- but you still have to clean it once a month? And how about the base? How dirty will it be? Or has it a method to clean autonomingly?
the necessary maintenance work can be performed just once per month, ie. clean sensors, clean base, clean filter, remove entangled hair, change dust bag
Looking at your "cons" for the Robotic Revo Q, I wonder if you found the place in the App that the clean settings can be customized for each room. That is, set for each room: vacuum only, mop only, or both vacuum and mop. (The cleaning customization settings are not easy to find in the app.)
@@AlexTeo Yes, but the Roborock App does a poor job of showing you how to customize. First, "Enter" your device. Below the map, select "rooms"; then select the "S" shaped icon in the lower right. Now select "Customize"; select "Edit"; and select a room. From the menu, select the cleaning modes and cleaning action you desire, select the check mark to save; the map will now show a symbol in each room for the custom mop/vacuum action you have pre-programmed. Now, when you go about cleaning, I believe the mop/vacuum action will be per this customization.
Hi Alex I have been enjoying your videos v much. Thank you for your info. Question. Ecovacs t20 model you mentioned here, hot mopping meaning hot water washing the mops or hot water mopping the floor all the way? Kindly advise. Thank you 😊
Hi Alex, great video. Any updated recommended robot vacuum suggestions given it’s 8 months later now? Both the best/value for money wise. Thanks in advance!
auto water hookup is my number 1 must have feature so i feel it's worth the money, else i don't find value getting the highest end flagship models unless there is a nice discount
Not sure if you mentioned it in this or previous reviews: Can you define different areas for dry vs. wet cleaning, or do they decide on their own based on type of floor (carpet, wood or tiles...)
Previously tried Dreame L10s ultra but mopping not up to my standard and sold away after buy Airbot L107s at $600 (half price of L10s ultra) 😂 with hot mop which do slightly better mop but can't do cycle cleaning. Not sure why Airbot have taken the product down 😢
i will say there is no specific requirement because you can always get a suitable adapter separately, maybe just water pressure being between 0.14MPa and 1MPa which i think 90% of the people won't have issue
Thanks for the video, full of detail. I used a ecovacs t20 , there is a problem , it keep.stopped under the bed and it can't return home most of the time. I have to lift it up and move it back to dock. The space between the bed and floor have around 20cm which should able to come back and I do in the morning with a lot of sun light in the room. I have returned. Now , T20 is cheaper then what I brought, T20 is $899 , Revo is $999, USD. Should I try the revo?
T20 omni unfortunately doesn’t mop using hot water you’ll find by the time it reaches its point of cleaning or within a minute of leaving the dock it’s cold especially in the summer months when AC is on, I currently have a roborock S8 pro ultra hooked up to my own DIY water kit, it’s pretty simple, I offer this to friends for a small fee and include a limscale remover so the water is as pure as a bottle of Fiji after going through a filtration system it’s, it’s my go to V&M robot vacuum cleaner and the best part about my modifications is it doesn’t void the warranty I’m currently in discussions with RoborockEU about the design which may be purchased from me which i assume is for a future release, the L20 is a decent almost unreal dream however I think there’s going to be some issues with some shaggy rugs they encounter, had they put the classic cloth mop on I would of possibly purchased it but I also have marble and I’ve had nothing but issues with those types of of mops leaving streaks and some I’ve had to get an older machine out to fix or use a steam cleaner, I really hope I’m wrong but people running out taking advantage of the special offer of $450 off only to realise it’s a flawed machine that’s being hyped to be the best of the best, I really look forward to see how you find it in 12 months and how many firmware updates they produce over that time period my guess is 20-30 and it’s still having issues
if environment or floor material is cold then of course the water will not be hot unless you are constantly heating the water. So how will you attempt to do hot water mopping using the traditional manner, you will first heat up the water and pour inside a pail right, then take a mop and rinse it using that hot water. How long will the mop remains hot? its the same idea. I rather it has firmware updates, at least I know the manufacturer is constantly working and improving it rather than a company that doesn't provide updates at all
Dreame L10s ultra users, anyone experience this issue of when the robot returns to dock, it drops a small pile of dust in front of the dock? was wondering if its a common issue or my piece is defective. Also curious to know if L20 has the same issue or was it solved.
Hi Alex, for the L20 Ultra is the installation with the water hookup kit simple enough to be done by ourselves or would it be better to go through their installers?
You are comparing the high end Dreame L20 model with the low end Roborock Q Revo. The issues you flagged in the Q Revo are not present in the higher end Roborock models. My year old S7 MaxV ultra comes with an optional plumbing kit (additional charge) that automatically tops up and drains the water as well.
This is not a comparisom video saying dreame L20 is better, infact i am recommending all 3 of these for different household requirement. You gotta watch the video man
You might not have intended the video to say the Dreame is better but that's what your comments section is saying 😂 Also it's hard to say this is not a comparison video when you are testing them side by side. You should have done the S8 Pro Ultra against the L20, much closer in pricing.
@@Deathwisher85 hmm i responded to all the comments, don't feel that is the general consensus. My intention is to share which are the ones i recommend to get, doing a S8 vs L20 is only for people choosing between these 2
@@AlexTeoI am that person deciding between S8 pro ultra and Dreame L20 😂 Both costs similar, so if you could get your hands on the S8 to test against Dreame that'll be great!
As mentioned this feature is not new in china, the narwal J2 thats released more than a year ago already has it. Did you see the Ecovacs X2 pro released outside of china? Can share the link
@@AlexTeo I have not seen it outside china yet (I am in China). Wonder why they don't have these plumbed in versions outside china? I think if they ever did a version with this and a way to top up the soap automatically AND a way of emptying the base bin (or a bigger bin). It would be great. Check it once a week. I think even if exported it may not work outside china because of the APP servers, my T10 Omni does not like it if I put my VPN on it's wifi, can't connect to the app.
@@spvn same here cos Dreame SG only just started selling the L10s with water kit in June & I bought it straightaway. Who knows the new model is out within 3 months 😢🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Hi Alex. Thanks for the detailed analysis! Question on the Dreame L20. Ur summary states that Dreame L20 can be found on Mi Home App. But I can’t find it on the list. Also I’m using the region Mainland China. Is this an area of concern if I want to get this robot vacuum? Thanks
Awsome review! Regarding the L20s, does the dirty water drainer have a pump? Because my drain is above ground around 30cm, you think it will work or only uses the force of gravity?
Thank you for this detailed comparison! Do you have any idea where can i get the white Dreame L20? Because most of the platform i saw is selling only the black version😅
Hi Alex, I can't stretch my budget to get the Dreame L20 Ultra so I was wondering if last year's L10S Ultra (the one you reviewed last year) is better than the Q Revo and T20 that you mentioned here?
Hi Alex, this is so informative, thank you for this! Btw, for the Dreame L20 with hookup kit, do you think 1.5m of clearance is really needed in front of the docking station as mentioned in the Dreame website ? I’m planning to put at my 4rm BTO laundry area but the amount of clearance I can afford infront of the docking station is only 90cm
I'm using Dreame L10s ultra. It seems the vacuum first then mop option is no longer available. So now I have to set two scheduled tasks one for vacuum and one for mopping..
Sorry, i want to ask you one question. I have Ecovacs X1 OMNI (i bought this on October 2022), I see that there are some new beautiful features (obviously, because is new) in Dreame L20, but the question is: you recommend me to buy Dreame L20 to substitute my Ecovacs or doesn’t make sense? Thank you!
@@AlexTeo In Amazon the X1 Omni white is €800… i think that if i want to sell it, the price must be like €400! I don’t know if make sense, because the Dreame’s price is €1300. What do you say?
Which should I get? The T20 omni (1000$ on sale on amazon), the Roborock Q revo (1000 on sale on amazon) or the Dreame L10s ultra (1100 on sale on amazon)? Would really appreciate your help!
After your review I'm conflicted between the qrevo and l20. l20 is $350 more than qrevo though. in your opinion for a small 68sqm 3rm hdb, which would you recommend? Would prefer hot water washing.
@@AlexTeo no problem, pulled the trigger on the qrevo maxv since it was 300+ cheaper than the x30 without the features i didnt really need like removable mop and auto soap dispenser and less 1000pa & no hair cutter. Consider it somewhat superior to dreame l20 since it has hot water washing and a good 1 piece base for easy cleanning.
i am considering buy a robot vaccum (never used one before!). Just wonder if you can elaborate a bit on the mapping instability and the internal water tank issue with the Ecovacs T20? What are the advantages of having an internal water tank? I like the Roborock but unfortunately it's not available where i am and I don't think i can use the Dreame L20 due to its requirements of connecting to water supplies. thanks so much!
Mapping issues are things like losing map in the app, bot unable to recognise map, map not accurate in some areas. Having an internal water tanks means that you have a better spread of clean water flowing in before it returns back to the station to clean the mop pads. The dreame L20 water kit is optional thought but depends whethet you have the budget for premium models
@AlexTeo the L20 ultra with water kit attached. Even for water dispensers we need to change filters yearly. I am not sure if the refilled water will eventually be so dirty that it defeats the purpose of using it to clean 😂
Thanks Alex this is great,! If i do the auto cleaning water kit, how often do i need to remove the dirty water filter? once a month? i am trying to put this under my kitchen sink, and wonder whether he can work with just 80cm and ocassionally pull the base out for detergent refill and dirty water filter change.
