My Top 5 BEAST Cards in OATH! 

My personal favorite card in the Beast suit is animal companions, and it's totally not just because of the spazzed out wolf who looks like he's about to speedrun every war crime known to man and the girl sitting there content to watch the world burn, but also because of the ability being so incredibly nice. Beast is without doubt my favorite suit in the game. Memory of nature, forest council, insect swarm, second chance (the frog, dude, the frog), long lost heir (as you said), giant python (what the frick is that ability, and how was I ever able to use it effectively??), Fae Merchant (broken), Roving terror?!?, WAR TORTOISE?!?!?!?!?, even vow of poverty, every single card oozes game altering charm, and with the emphasis on having as much of this suit as possible to maximize abilities while simultaneously hindering your opponents ability to even set FOOT on a site with a beast card, let alone play one, and the interesting edifice only confirming this further while ALSO giving this suit the ability to AVOID BEING DISCARDED always keeps the board wild, fresh and never Order dominant (objectively the lamest suit). This suit wins in fun, art, creative mechanics, longevity, themeing, and even just trying to win the game (forest paths, rangers, wild allies, the list goes on). SSS+ tier suit, and if you disagree I won't have to fight you cause you just turned the entirety mother natures hell spawn against you.

Interesting choices Sam! I find that Beast cards can be better or worse depending on how many of them there are in play, especially with cards like Small Friends. My favourite card from this suit is Grasping Vines. Very few things are more satisfying than banishing a challenger and having them lose one of their surviving warbands from Grasping Vines. Other notable mentions include Rangers (ignoring skulls is already worth the favor), Animal Host (for getting a large army quickly), Mushrooms (for the reasons you mentioned), and Wolves (as Cole Wehrle said, it is the Oath equivalent of MtG's Lightning Bolt).
