I subscribed in the first minute thanks to your amazing green dress and how it suits you and how you speak, move, smile) Some patterns are not so modern, except the first skirt and the yellow dress and that with dots at the end, but you make me want to sew all the wardrobe by myself))) The video is hypnotic, you are so cute) It is little bit long, but very inspiring and convincing)) You probably don't see your English elegance in the way you speak and in the style of your channel, but it's the thing that keeps the reason to make my own collection.
Thank you Yana for your lovely comment. I am so glad you enjoyed the video - the yellow dress is my favourite! I hope you enjoy sewing your own wardrobe too and thank you so much for watching and subscribing! ❤
I know what you mean about loosing your sew joe I’ve just had a three week holiday and I’m struggling to get my sewing juices flowing. Your enthusiasm regarding these sewing patterns is motivating me to stop being so lazy and start a project. X
Thank you Anne! I think sewing motivation definitely has its highs and lows doesn't it. I love finding the project that sparks my creativity again. Thank you so much for watching.
I really loved seeing your makes and your explaining of the details. Also liked the garments where you hacked a pattern and how you did it. Your videos are a pleasure to watch plus I always feel like I learn something.
All of your makes are lovely as usual. You are so very talented. I love your new hair cut and I believe you also got your hair highlighted. It is cute.
Thank you so much Sally. The fabric is a viscose from Felicity Fabrics. I bought it over a year ago now though so I am not sure it will be in stock any more sadly.
It was so lovely to see you back Amelia! You always inspire me. I had lost my "sew jo" like you. I wondered if it's a summer plague? :) So many things I love to do in the summer - walk, ride my bike, visit with friends. But in watching you today, I was able to reclaim my motivation to finish an "over top" I had put aside on my cutting table a month ago. I had been thinking about making up a couple of Ogden "dresses" for the summer. I love that pattern too. Hearing you talk about it was what drove me back to my cutting table. I'm strict with myself with a rule that I cannot start something new until I've finished the project I have on the go :) If I start allowing that permissiveness in my sewing world, who knows if I'll ever get anything completed? :) Thanks again Amelia for another great video. I always love to see your makes! You habitually work with gorgeous fabrics and your sewing is magnificently neat.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Kathleen. I am so glad you enjoyed the video and that you are enjoying your sewing again! I would love to try an Ogden 'dress' soon. I hope yours turn out really well!
Thanks for your inspiration Amelia. My sewing class is doing a.the Style Arc Montana dress. It has an expansion pack to change up and challenge you. It's now cut out and ready for the next class x
I made the Vetiver blouse. Sleeves too floppy so pleated them. Instead of ruffle I hacked the avid Seamstress dress so now have 20 buttons and button holes in front. And I can get it on without opening any of the buttons. I love it. It's loose and airy. ❤️ Loved what you've done x
The Vetiver sleeves would look so cute with a pleat! I did size down on mine to get a more fitted look. I bet it would look so cute as a dress! Thanks so much for watching.
Thank you so much for making and sharing your video, that was so helpful to me as I still think of myself as a nervous beginner. Love the culottes and TatB dress you're wearing x I have that pattern but I'm terrified to open the packet 😂
Thanks so much Aud, I am glad you enjoyed the video. I think new patterns always seem daunting, but TATB instructions are so, so good. I always really enjoy sewing her patterns! Thanks so much for watching. ❤
Great video! I must try the indigo again. I found the arm holes were uncomfortable. Plus the curve at the waist isn’t echoed in the hem as I recall- so the hem line looked uneven to me. When I wear mine it feels like it’s on backwards 😂
I wasn't sure about the curved waistline either - but it has been fine. I haven't noticed a hem dip yet, but I will definitely be looking more closely next time I put the dress on! 😂❤
Your makes are lovely as always. I especially love that faces blouse. I do wish that blouse pattern came in a printed version. I recently purchased a skirt PDF pattern-my first and probably my last PDF. I now need to find somewhere where I can get it printed up. Sort of frustrating. But I really need some of that Lady Maclroy faces fabric.
I find sticking pdf patterns together frustrating too, unless they are only small patterns for children etc. I use Fabulosew to print them A0 and they are fantastic! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you so much Kerry, I am glad you enjoyed the vlog. I bought the cami fabric from Sister Mintaka. It is a Nerida Hansen cotton sateen. I did buy it over a year ago now though, so I am not sure if it is still available.
Such lovely makes as always. You always make me giggle. I think sometimes you are about to burst out laughing 🤣 Could I ask which size of the Vetiver blouse you made? Thank you :)
