Hey guys, welcome to another video. Today I am going to answer one of the most asked questions I get on my RU-vid channel: Which guitar I use the most and why?"
In this video, I want to show you why I decided to use these five guitars in my videos, recordings, and daily practice.
Each guitar is unique and allows you to express yourself differently. I consider myself really like to be able to change guitar based on the music style I feel like playing.
I am also fortunate because I didn't have actually to buy all the guitars I own. A lot of companies send me guitars to try. This is awesome for me, but also you guys because I get to discover so many amazing guitars and share it with you.
I don't get paid to say good things about these guitars, and I don't ask for an affiliate link. I only showcase guitars that I really like, and that resonates with the music style I play.
I don't recommend that you buy any of the guitars that I use in my videos unless you try it yourself and decide that it is the guitar you need.
Don't buy stuff just because I use it. If you like one of the guitars I use, do your research and try it (if you can) before you buy it.
Now, let's get back to the video! :)
The guitars are listed based on how much I use them.
I will go through the things that I like about each guitar so that you can have an idea as to why I own them.
We will talk about the:
5. Journey OF410. The most portable travel guitar I have.
4. Paul Reed Smith Single Cut Trem. My versatile electric guitar.
3. Avian Skylark 4A. The most beautiful acoustic guitar.
2. LAVA ME 2. The guitar with built-in effects.
1. Eko Massimo Varini Signature. The best recording sound.
Enjoy this video, and let me know your favorite guitar!

🎸FAQs:
Are you a full-time RU-vidr?
Yes, I am on RU-vid as Marco Cirillo, and I promote my videos on my website BlitzGuitar.com. All the courses I post online are available on my Patreon page bit.ly/2rMAPYG
How long have you been playing guitar?
I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old, so it has been more than 20 years. I have always loved fingerpicking guitar, so this is why all my tutorials focus on this topic.
Why are you on Patreon?
Patreon is great! It allows creators to make money doing what they love. On Patreon, I can share my guitar lessons with my Patrons and get paid for it. As a creator, I feel like Patreon really made a massive difference in the way I share my content :)
Do you do concerts?
I used to do a lot of gigs in the past. London is a great place to play music almost every day. When my RU-vid channel started to grow, I decided to go all-in and try to help as many people as possible learning guitar. This goal takes all the time I have available, so I am not doing any gig or concert atm.

I like the sound of the EKO. I've played Bluegrass for years on my 1963 D18 and a 1934 D18 I've had for years. Now in my 80s, I'm playing a nice classical guitar from Paracho Mexico and love your videos to help me relax and sound like I know what I'm doing! Thank you so much!

I love your videos, Marco! Thank you for sharing your expertise with us! I am happy to hear you say that an Eko guitar is your number one choice. Just today, I received a vintage Eko Ranger XII from 1968 by FedEx that I ordered off of Reverb from Afterlife Guitars in Manchester, UK (I'm in Alaska). I am really loving this thing so far! I am certain it will not be my only Eko guitar either.

Hi Marco, I saw your previous video of the Lava me 2 and saw it fitted naturally and perfectly into the set of guitars I have. I now have it and it is phenomenally good. Using the effects on "My Heart Will Go On" adds terrific depth and colour to the piece. Thank you!

All great axes. I like the Italian rosewood. I like rosewood guitars, I have two. Fender parlor PM-2 deluxe and a Yamaha FG-04 LTD. I have 1957 Arch top Harmony Monterey that is a time capsule.... Birchwood guitar it sounds cool. My travel guitar is a old red label Yamaha FG-150, 50+ years old it sounds great as well but a little beat up. Thanks for sharing!

I had an Eko 12-string, sunburst finish, that I bought used in 1976-‘77 when I lived in Tucson. About 10 years ago, I gave it to my engineer. He had given me his father’s 1913 The Gibson mandolin a few years earlier.

G'Day Sir... Yes... I too owned an EKO 12 string... until a 'Mate' came and spent two nights with some crates of beer... We played and played day and night... and he made the 12 string sing like a bird (I was playing my ESTON 6 string (Brand EKO) ... (Both Made in Italy)... This was in the 'Seventies' and we were young men !! Ha Ha... You know the happy ending ? Yes... I gifted the EKO 12 string guitar to him... One of the best "jam sessions" I ever experienced and another good memory !

I have a Vinci classical guitar nylon strings and it's my first guitar and I bought it used for 75 dollars u s and it's a great guitar to learn on as the neck is really wide so I am able to make great sounding chords and as a beginner I enjoy playing with this guitar, but I do plan on getting a steel string acoustic soon.

Hey Marco I live in London and play six days a week in two hotels. I do a lot of looping and vocals. Currently I use a Maton EMD6 it’s a small guitar with loads of power when plugged in. However the Eko that you play and did the looping demo in the other day blew me away. I got hold of the agents and this model doesn’t exist any longer they have the 18 model which is aroun £400 pounds with a fishman 301 I think. It’s also a microphone inside. What would your thoughts be. Many thanks

And! I appreciate your minimalist wide chord voicings and calm right hand arpeggios as opposed to the most common raucous intensity of a lot of players... HOWEVER any guitar is subject to anyone's personal unique touch, yea?

Used to own an Avian Skylark fan fret Mahogany. I loved the fan fret playability, especially for drop tunings. In the end, I could not live with some of the issues it had: 1. poor b-band electronics (noisy, indistinct sound). 2. accessibility of the electronics thru the novel sound hole (my wife had to change the batteries with her smaller hands). 3 fret-wire could be of better quality. Mahogany was a mistake for me, much prefer rosewood. Are these issues solved nowadays? Looking at a Lava Me 2 for travel and camping ...

If you ever get the chance try a takemine EN10 12 string Make sure you plug it in to an amp to get the full sound, I have one and many guitarists I know tried to get me to sell it but I held on to it, I also have a Martin acoustic and a cherry Gibson les Paul studio, Out of the 3 of them I think I like the EN10 the best because its like a guitar and mandolin all in one and has a very rich full sound. I like that journey you have, its a very practical guitar, I wouldn't mind adding one of those to my small collection. That oviation is like something from outer space, Never seen a guitar like that, Of course all your guitars are really beauties.

Action is not so hard to set up. just buy an used one ( i mean under 40$ ) and make your experience, slowy, steps by steps. A correct action is sometime the only main difference between a 160 $ and a 500$ one. I mean I have been so well surprise after some tunning on 30$ used budget guitar. realy.

The real shocker in this video is that you use 0.10's strings on an acoustic guitar and you sound good. Hard to believe. I consider those to be light gauge even for an electric guitar. Personally I use 13's on all my 8 acoustic guitars. I would expect nothing but sort of limp buzzing from 10's on an acoustic.
@MarcoCirillo
@MarcoCirillo 3 года назад
I agree. I think it really depends on how you pluck the strings. For strumming and more percussive fingerstyle 10 will not work.
