I am going to continue my Mantle run as well. I have all of the base cards for the 1960s. I have 4 of the 1950s. I am going to go after some Aaron cards. Hammering Hank. Great video.
Great goals Joe! Ripping wax...guilty! About $4k this year myself. Your grail cards are definitely tiers above mine, but collecting is collecting. For me, '94 Finest Refractor Griffey Jr (raw), '68 Topps Nolan, '74 Topps Mike Schmidt PSA 8 or better, '76 Topps Walter Payton PSA 6 or better, '79 TCMA Rickey Henderson PSA 9 or better. Great list Joe! I hope youre able to get them all. 53 mantle is awesome! I saw a guy on fb the other day saying he had hit a mantle auto from 92 score. It was a n awesome card. I hope to get a 1980 topps bird magic rookie would be my big goal I think.

Man, I've said the same thing about buying blasters from Walmart. I never pull anything good and immediately ask myself why didn't I just spend that money on a decent single card

Fantastic, well considered, goals. Very similar to my own focus in the new year. Like you said, I derive my joy from particular cards as opposed to....every card. And, I will continue to sell and pare down my collection. I have been selling about 100 / year on my ebay store. I really like thinning out the collection. The 1933 Goudey Foxx cards are great, and the higher number will be cheaper for you to get (and it is exactly the same card as the more expensive low number). I recently sold off a 3500 ct filled with “value box” stuff to Blowout just before Christmas for $350 to then put toward either a 48 bowman Sammy Baugh PSA 7 ($1300) or 91 desert shield Griffey PSA 9 ($1000)..and now that the market has settled down I’m gonna pick up a 82 traded Ripken PSA 9 ($350) and the 84 fleer update Clemens PSA 9 ($265). I like your thoughts on going to the National. I wish I could go every year but every other sounds like a good plan. Weve done Cleveland 2018 and AC 2022. Someday we’ll make the drive to Chicago from northern Virginia.
IF the National was in Chicago I'd make it~.... Cleveland.... not so inspiring to me especially how spread out it is over there...driving all over the landscape is not a goal. lol..... more vintage this year for my PC.... Dimaggio (at least 1 of his cards hopefully '38 Goudey)~ I need a Honus Wagner of some kind and then a Shoeless Joe ~probably the '40 playball... good luck to you!
The 53 Bowman Mantle is definitely a must have for any vintage collector. I have a nice one ungraded. Do you own the 54, and 55 Bowman? I really enjoy your videos Joe.

The Sapphire skip is super easy. I’ve been burned so many times on that product that I did a Rocky montage about it. Bowman skip might be more difficult. I do genuinely enjoy learning about the upcoming top prospects

I always go quality over quantinty. eBay now will let you build up in store credit. Ive found that its a great to approach to save your credit up and then buy the card your targeting. I aim for a new card every 6 weeks or so and am only chasing HOF rookies. Why own every album LTJ has put out when everything after Anthem is trash? LOLZ
