❤❤❤! Working with my favorite colors - pink and green, such a lovely variety of jackets and coats! I don’t think one can have too many coats in your climate. Thank you so much for an informative video 🎉
Thank you so much for your comment, the brushed cotton is a great lining is is so warm and cosy! And even though it is far from perfect I really enjoy wearing the Stacker Jacket too!
Thanks so much Jyl, I really enjoyed filming this one. It is fun to see how my sewing has progressed from the cord Stacker Jacket 😊 I still love and wear it. All my me mades are an important part of my journey!
A great video, thank you! I have had the Nova jacket for years but have only just got some fabric and lining to make it! I love your versions and I’m definitely inspired to make more jackets and coats! 💕
Thank you for your comment. Quilting is a wonderful (well I think so) and it can also create such beautiful garments too! Give it a go for sure if you are curious!
Hi I love your videos. Always so inspirational. This week your quilted lined Nova Coat was so clever and creative. I am inspired to do the same to an ilford jacket/coat. I have lots of viscose challis scraps some quite large that I would love to use to make a quilted lining. Wondering if you have ever tried to quilt with viscose challis. Wondering if using spray starch might help in the construction of the patchwork. Please keep the videos coming they are great.
Hello, thank you for your comment. I have not tried quilting with larger viscose challis pieces. I think a spray starch or even interfacing the pieces might work? To make the patchwork will be fine but to actually quilt will be tricky I would imagine as it will move quite a lot. It sounds like an amazing idea though and I am sure it will look fantastic 😊
Thank you, this blouse is the Bakerloo Blouse by Nina Lee London. It is really fun to make a wear. I am glad you found the info about the linings useful! Thanks for watching 😊
Your coats and jackets are beautiful Amelia. I have 2 Nova’s and about to have a go at the Ilford. Have never seen the stacker jacket so enjoyed getting to see yours. thank-you.😊
Thank you so much for your comment, the Nova really is a great pattern! I am sure you will love making the Ilford jacket too, it is another great pattern 😊
Wow!! The quilting in the green coat is beautiful. I'd love to try this in a similar coat pattern. What a lovely way to use up scraps. Love your videos and look forward to them each week ❤😊
Thank you so much for your comment. The quilting fabric is not actually that thick and the brushed cotton is also not too thick so it was generally okay to handle. I did have to take my time during key points though.
Just bought the Nova coat pattern, my first coat. It doesn’t look too scary and I’ve bought affordable fabrics so if it goes wrong it won’t be disaster!
Hi, Just watched your Autumn Coat patterns episode. Thank you so much. I am now going to buy the Nova Coat pattern. I have a query about the coat that you have made with the quilted lining . Did you stitch all your scrappy pieces together, then stitched them to a quilt backing fabric and used this as your lining ? Kind regards, Maria🙃
Hello Maria, I am sure you will the Nova coat it is so much fun to make and wear! And yes for the lining what you described is exactly what I did. I put all the scraps together then quilted them the the wadding/batting after. A super tip it to make the pieces a bit bigger then your can always trim them down a little bit after. I hope that helps 😊
