I bought a new Mercury 3.5 and it was a complete dud so I'm glad yours is working well. I think I just got a bad one but it put me off them. This thing isn't as fast as the 3.5 I had but it's just as torquey. Only time will tell how it will hold up but so far I'm pretty impressed. Thanks for watching!
