Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.

The director, the camera crew and Bambie made a masterpiece. I can't think of better staging from the past. The song might not even have qualified if the staging wasn't so good.

Really disappointed Ukraine isn't in your top 5! It was overwhelmingly powerful and beautiful!I know this is JUST about staging,so the fact Sweden's song was so vapid this year is irrelevant - but Ukraine's somg was so powerful - and then the staging elevated it x100!!! Swedens "impressive" staging didn't do anything for the song.

@@Tatiana-yr7ff just exporting a masterclass when I am describing the detail of French fantastic staging. As I like to say, less is sometimes more. And briliant staging is just the best ilusion for the song to excel od camera.

I forgot Sweden existed during the show. The entry, not the country. It was so so so so BLAND. All the sparkles in the world couldn't make it memorable for me.

I agree on France, it was all you needed : it looked simple, but it was not, everything was very deeply thought of, like painting the mic in white and everytime the contrast of black or dark blue with white to create the intimate vibe. I understand the lyrics of the song, so for me it was a very emotional moment, the lyrics are very beautiful and the staging made it complete. Belgium, my country ruined it with the staging, or should I say it was too empty, even with the bright colours. Mustii had thought before to add dancers on stage, but finally he decided to go solo, big error I think. so now more had to be done with the camera, led screen, the mics had to be in another colour... it lacked deepness, so sad, he worked so hard with his team, with a bad result.I loved Ukraine very much, the staging, the dresses, everything elevated the already beautiful song. It was my winner. Ireland was very artistic, bit too bold for some audience hahaha, but hey they finished in a very good place. Switzerland was dissapointing in my opinion for staging. Din't like all the jumping and spining on that prop in a too bold outfit with the minimalistic lighting . I knew it was gonna be different than the video, but this killed the amzing song for me. Luckily they where the best voice of the evening, so well deserved to win. I wish Nemo a brilliant career, we will hear more of them..

Ireland and Czechia had the best stagings out of all of them. Norway, Ukraine, sweden, the uk, san marino had some of the best ones aswell. Greece had the most unique one since the cameraman had to literaly follow every step of almost the whole song which was a great risk and looked more like a tik tok video.

Imo Bambie Thug's staging was hands down the best this year, and not only- I think it will change the way Eurovision stage directors will approach their work in the future..

Imo it wont affect the others that much as you cannot apply same things to everything. This was a perfection for this case. Other did perfection for other stagings.

I totally agree, Bambie's staging was on another level. Directed and cut as if it was a music video (done by the same director as Bambie's MV), but unlike Olly's staging, it also entertained the audience in the arena.

Now something fun for a change! I agree with your top five, their staging really brought these songs to life. I have said earlier that this year was 'meh' for me when it came to the songs ( not a single12 points from me) but I haven't been so blown away wtih staging that Ireland gave this year since Australia 2019 . ( this year's AUstralia was in my bottom 5) As for Czechia, where was the 'Pedestal'?

Portugal was pure ART ❤ The song was realy good for portuguese people (that understood the lirycs - poem level) but this staging just elevates the all package to a beautiful peace of art. Tamks for your sensebility on this one🇵🇹

Thank you for this video! I liked the staging of France overall, but not too much. Maybe this is a personal thing, but I found the moments when he was touching the camera or directly interacting with it tacky, I would prefer him not to use this in staging. I didn't like Nemo's staging. I liked the music video where the visuals illustrated the story of finding yourself among other people, in different crowds, in different garments. On the stage he was all alone which contradicted to the story, and he was on a thing that did not seem to be related to the story at all. He had to pay so much attention to holding on this thing and he was moving so much that we could hear him getting out of breath :( And if in the music video he was in a crazy world, on the stage he was the crazy one. I didn't like it at all. I agree about Portugal, Sweden and Ireland. Ireland was my favourite. It was really a masterpiece. I also liked Serbia's staging, it had this Elven vibe and was creating this mysterious Elven atmosphere. And I liked Croatia's staging because it was entertaining and the cats=cattle images just slayed. My top 5 are: 1. Ireland 2. Portugal 3. Sweden 4. Serbia 5. Croatia.

There are subjective things, and also there are some professional details to it, so we can have absolutely different views on it. Also many stagings this year were really good. Nemo's staging was brilliant in another way I realise because of you, that they did not try to sell some story. As it would be complicated and basically it was represented by Nemo's dress. The rest was a pure artistic performance, eye catching, unseen. They basically have chosen design over storytelling. And imo it was clever, as they stayed neutral towards the audience. (but watch my masterclass, where I am describing details) Serbian staging has many issues which I will describe in my masterclass. And Croatia was like a classical, not overcomplicated thing, simple in support to the songs tempo and atmosphere. Worked without anything special, just that also makes it rly good staging!

For me, Nemo's staging did tell the story. While he's searching themself in the binary world, that satellite dish is tilted from side to side, and Nemo is either up on the top (stationary), or slipping/jumping down to the bottom. The world where they try to find themself is binary (you're either up or down). But suddenly, the dish starts to spin, still tilted, but Nemo stays on the top. Then it spins but this time with a horizontal surface, Nemo finds his balance on it while it's spinning around and doesn't tilt up and down anymore. Nemo eventually found themself in that non-binary world in perfect balance. Perfect storytelling and illustration in my opinion.

A bit weird choice, as for me. Having the Portugal and Sweden in the Top5 stagings - don’t understand where it comes from. I really loved both of them, but they are nowhere close to the top5 stagings from my point of view. The dancers with the covered faces in the Portuguese entry were kind a cliche and quite destructing for me. And Swedish staging was definitely high tech and modern but that’s it. Under the technology aspect I didn’t find anything that caught me. And I have doubts about Ireland. Surely that was a powerful show, and I can see why you chose them, but it was too overwhelming for me.

It comes probably from professional point of view, approach but still this might be subjective. When I am analysing stagings in masterclass, you can quite understand where it comes from. Mostly from an absolute detail understandement, clean and perfectionised ideas with all the technical aspects.

@@JanBors Sorry cannot watch your Ukrainian Masterclass it is behind a pay wall and I am African . Of course it is subjective. I would say the best Staging was also Ireland as it interprets the song with the best imaging (plus props and camera angles). Portugal was rather poor as it was to bright on my screen and you could not really see the actors/singers. I believe on stage Armenian was very good. I noticed you did mention the UK (did not like the song/singing but the staging was brilliant if a bit seedy). I do understand the understated staging like France and it was effective. Portugal's staging was frankly a disaster.

Hey. Same top three as you (Armenia+Ukraine). As i said previously i just wish they gave a 16+ warning in Ireland because many kids did not let their parents sleep for a week lol. In your previous video i talked about useful idiots in Europe and that the same thing is happening in Hollywood entertainment. Thanks again for the very technical analysis.

it was nice but was chasing many rabbits without a clear focus, clear unifying idea, such stagings mostly tend to fail qualifying. Cuz they are hard to rewind, hard to memorise. And in this staging there were to many of those things, also the song was not super strong even not bad. 11th place in semi is after the whole season a big success. I think with better staging, it would be a qualifier

I like Greece's songs a lot! Unfortunately, the dance parts were weak and Marina's dancing skills were like my grandma's at Christmas when she got drunk. She is a great singer though

@@Bob-ws8pn With so many freaks this year's line up had; Ireland, Finland.... so the countries that chose to be good and normal stood out. So to be normal this year was good. Look at the result, top 3 in televote was Israel, Croatia and Ukraine 👍

Normal is boring. Eurovision now is about trying to show something different - not singing perfect notes while standing still behind a microphone. It was about this for a very long time......but it hasn't been about this for the last 15 years. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's now very much about pushing boundaries, rather than being as conventional as possible and not offending anyone.

Unfortunately disagree!! Irish staging was spooky, ugly and overwhelming! When it comes to Swiss I have the urge to look for the owners of the pink a binary parakeet. Pardon but I have to add another POV on the French song narrative and staging - “La Pussy”.
