Cassandra Mae My old cat Kitty, was my comfort must have, she waited up for me till it was time for bed. She always knew when I didn't feel well too and rested on me in a different way. She passed last August. I sure do miss her. 🦋
Thanks so much for asking. I've gotten this question a lot! What I've noticed I've been doing for the last few years is keeping each journal for a month or so after I've filled it, then look back over it, sometimes take a picture of something in it if that feels important at the time (and save it in my "journal" file on my computer), and then I burn it. I've always loved building fires, staring into them, and back when I first got rid of a bunch of my stuff, it sounded like a great idea to ceremoniously burn all my old journals and year books. A great excuse to play with fire too :). Thanks for asking! Sending tons of love your way!
I've never thought about that! Burning something that's no longer useful for you is such a powerful release. I've yet to fill up my journal but I definitely like that idea!
I talk about you two a lot to my friends. I think it is awesome yall take time to reply to fans on RU-vid & Instagram. Love from Houston. I have a journal as well! Growing up I use to use paper but now I use my iPad. I do love pen and paper feeling as well but for me the journal on the iPad has been working well. There is a journal app I use in which I can attach pictures and create tags so entries are easier to find. Privacy is a concern because it is synced to a cloud but I am willing to take that risk.
That is so cool! I'm honored :) And yes! It's so nice to get to connect with you all here! I love that you've been enjoying the ipad journal. That sounds great! So fun about the journal app! That makes so much sense! xoxo
That's a fantastic video! The JBL Clip looks great - checking it out - see it comes waterproof style too! Really enjoying you and Connor's videos...the emotional intelligence and simplicity and health of it resonates with me! You two are beautiful, big-hearted folks. Right on!
I've been using a hot water bottle for years. I use boiling water because it stays hot all night long. I wrap it in a soft towel and cuddle it. I take it on trips as well. It's one of my favourite self care items for sure.
I just bought a bamboo toothbrush I can't wait to use it. It's vegan it's plant based and I don't have to keep buying plastic toothbrushes. Now I don't have to brush my teeth with plastic and I'll save money too
I'm currently reading the art of extreme self care by Cheryl Richardson. Or should I say re reading it, this time to put it into practice. I've been caring for my father in law with vascular dementia, Alzheimer's and incontinence for many years and 24/7 for just over a year. Now, he's in a really good home and I have lots more time to myself that I do not know what to do with myself,so I'm looking into the aspect and practice of self care more now I have this free time. Thank u for an inspirational video and more on the topic would b great x
I love this one! Totally into the massage balls, something to write on, the eye mask for travelling, herbal tea, and since recently the hot water bottle. Love music also, but often I NEED silence to recharge! Have a wonderful day and thank you for sharing!
My self care item is watching your videos haha! True though, you're so comforting and positive; I like to watch your videos under a blanket and with a hot cup of tea. Also, I thought it could be great to film a video of your favorite musics one day :) Keep being awesome!
Eat Sesame EVERYDAY!!! A LOT of it !! For your cramps and for a lot of nutriments !! That has changed my life !! And it's plants based also ! Check it out ! I love to follow your video, your inspiring ! I'm close to that now !
I hadn't realised you shouldn't put boiling water in a hot water bottle. A friend of mine got really burnt. I think it does say it on the bottle. It should be hot but not just boiled x
omg that sounds fun and slightly terrifying! I love it. Sounds fun to do sometime. And I'd love to share more about my favorite music! Thanks so much for asking. And thank you for these beautiful words!
I love all of these things too...especially the herbal tea and music! You are such a precious person Brittany. I love all your videos.❤. Funny story about the hot water bottle...my mom always had these when I was little and I vividly remember using hers as my baby. I have a picture of me when I was about 3 years old dressing it and wrapping it up and carrying it around in a stroller!😄. It has always brought me wonderful memories and is a very comforting thing for me too!
Hi Brittany! It's been a long while since I've gotten to watch your videos and I forgot how much I love my time with you. You're like one of my close friends and you comfort me. Tammie
When seeing this video in my recommended:First thought-this looks good Second thought-but I can't watch it, it will hurt my minimalism goals Third thought-oh wait, it's by Brittany Taylor. I can totally watch this. :D
hot water bottle(for the feet), thick warm socks, pillow filled with cereal grains (to heat/cool) for the head/abdomen/neck... can't remember more, but they are definitely more ;-)
Hello sweet friend, what a great list of self care items! I feel the very same about my herbal teas, it's a comforting experience that I enjoy daily. I'm buying a message ball ASAP, I never thought about using a ball to help with my nots and tension areas...also getting a hot water bottle! Always love learning more about you!💕
Thank you so much for this comment! I love it! I love that we share that about herbal teas too :) I'm excited for you to try out the massage ball and hot water bottle! xoxo
When you said that you wanted to be prepared for abdominal cramping did you mean your period? At first I was thinking that you were pregnant? That would be amazing, a little mini minimalist ;)
Hi Britney, I use my body weight with either a spiked ball, a tennis ball and an old golf ball, the golf ball really gets into those tiny places (I have scoliosis so have to stretch a lot). The golf ball feels like "deep tissue massage", I recommend it.
lovin that shirt on you :) I recently got a hot water bottle the has a soft furry cover on it, and I thought it was kinda silly/ excessive at first but it's actually so glorious I love it
Brittany, why do you chose a composition notebook over other journals? I'm a paper/pen geek, so I have to ask what's your favorite writing utensil? I'd also love to know what you do with your journals once they're full.
I love that you are a paper/pen geek. ooh, I think my favorite writing utensil is a pen that has a nice consistent ink (doesn't clump or dry up), but isn't so thick that it will bleed through pages. I like ones with caps too, because the clicky ones can get accidentally clicked while in my bag. I've had some favs that roll just right across the page! They are usually random ones I get one place or another. What's your favorite writing utensil!? And paper? I choose a composition notebook because I like the binding on these ones, as opposed to the metal rings. They are durable, you can find them everywhere. I like college ruled :). I like the size. It fits in my bag just right. Someone asked about what I did with my journals above too, so I'm cutting and pasting the response below. Thanks so much for these super fun questions! I love that we get to geek out together! xoxo Thanks so much for asking. I've gotten this question a lot! Brittany Taylor Thanks so much for responding! I'm a Bic pen girl, you know the four color clicker (red, green, black, & blue). I also love Sharpie pens. As for paper, I'm always on the lookout for good paper. I do like composition books, but a cute or artsy journal is great too. You talked about burning things. I've recently started purging negative stuff from my life. I've thrown away many pictures of my ex-husband (abusive relationship, divorced in 2007) and that felt AMAZING! I'm SO OVER feeling like I'm stuck in my past, so purging these items is key to me moving forward to positivity and self love! I LOOOOVE how you deal with your old journals! Brilliant idea while holding onto the parts you treasure most. ❤️ Thank you for sharing your life & tips. Sending love & warm hugs to you & Connor ❤️😊
