To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ru-vid.comUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.
I'm SO GLAD I've found your channel you have inspired me and help me more than you know. Its also good to know You're a fellow Texas native! Keep up the good work :)
Thanks guys, I've had my a6000 for almost two years now and mostly shoot video... I enjoy this camera very much, a great camera at it's price point, love the auto focus on this camera... also I'm a fan of the aps-c/super 35 sensor, good quality and the 1.5 crop factor gives the zoom reach I like... Oh yea, Jess is so pretty... Thx, Moses...
Good job as always... I like a monopod and have downsized the pod that I use for my heavier Canon DSLR gear. The pod I chose is (believe it or not!) the Amazon Basics Graphite Monopod... At under $50 and under one pound in weight, it is a great combination; ESPECIALLY with a L bracket on my camera. My generic Arca Compatible L bracket costs under fifteen dollars, fits very well and works great shifting from vertical to horizontal (works great on a tripod also).
This video was super helpful ! Thank you so so much! I will for sure buy a couple of these things very soon !! I’m doing photography so I’m super excited !
Everybody talks about the compactness of the A6000, which is very correct. The negative is that I am 6’5” and have big hands, can palm a basketball with my left or right hand. I really can’t hold the A6000 without my fingers changing the buttons or getting in the way. So I went with a quick mount for mounting on a rail. The handle was round PVC, some nuts and bolts for mounting. Then wrapped the PVC with nick cork handlebar tape. I went with a bigger diameter for my big hands. Gives me a very solid grip. I have even integrated remote triggers into the PVC.
Great accessories! I was happy with my tripod, but I see the benefits of have the controls off the camera. The flash will probably be the first thing I purchase. I have the same gimbal and must say I love the great shots that be taken with it.
I would say that something that may complement you list is a remote shutter. Depending on the type of photography they can be very convenient. From your list, I think that there are probably better tripods out in the market more photo oriented, maybe the last line of Vanguard is a good choice.
Great video! Just picked up a very light used A6000 with the kit lens for $450. Very very pleased with the image quality so far. Great camera. I will be getting into video with it soon. Your tripod looks like a must have so I think I'll start there.
I bought a 22.000 mah powerbank on Amazon, and will get a 2nd soon. It has 3 USB ports and has a pretty good output. I always have that in my bag and at least one of my dual chargers, so I can charge batteries on the go, since I have both the a6000 and a7 when I go out, and a total of 7 batteries.
Very nice list. I have to get those extension tubes they look pretty neat from the review you did on them! I personally use the Godox TT350s which I love for flash, all comes down to preference I think
Awesome list, TechMaf! I'm still debating between that Sony tripod you mentioned and the Magnus VT-4000. I may end up getting both. I've just got some reaaallllly old flimsy tripods that I use for now, which were hand-me-downs from my dad from years ago. I know I desperately need something new, though. Glad I watched this video today, because now I'm going to go re-watch your full review of this Sony tripod to see if I just want to grab this one now, and maybe the other one later as a secondary tripod.
I need to get an A6000 first. But the tripod and the gimbal would be nice to have. I bought a cheap Nex 3 to have a go at astrophotography and the one accessory I like is the dummy battery I got for it on Amazon for £16.
Love your videos. One thing I want to add concerning the SD cards: The A6000 seems to top out at about 36MB/s write speed. The 300 MB/s UHS-II shown is of course in no way necessary for the A6000 and even the suggested 100 MB/s is a lot more than the camera can handle. I think you have to find a sweet spot between speed, price and longevity of the cards, since you may use them for some years to come even after a camera upgrade.
You'll need the faster write speed to record the best video but you're right about the 300MB/s being overkill. 100MB/s write speed should be good enough.
A SanDisk extreme pro for the a6000 in particular is overkill because it doesn't support UHS-II, so you'll pay more for something that you don't make use of.
The absolute best accessory for these cams are lens adapters to adapt old film lenses. Virtually almost any old lens can adapt to Sony's e-mount and the best part is how cheap you can find these lenses. An old 50mm f1.8? yep in a thrift store for $10! It's like finding treasure.
what adaptor do u use ? obviosly the autofocu wont be good or even work but i have anamorphic lens , he Arthur do SLR Anamorphic Lens review and let me get the extra one the send you! Pleaaaaaassee lol ...but i promise you will get the most watch time and subs if you jump into this confusing, badass, artsy, expensive, cheap, real, fake,ANAMORPHIC WORLD that is blowing up right now !
Blitzcreeg All sorts of adapters with manual focusing only as most film lenses are not AF. Canon FD, Minolta SR, Nikon F, Pentax K, M42...etc. The thing is to make sure these lenses are still in OK condition due to their age.
If you buy that SD-Card smaller than 64GB you won't be able to record in XAVC-S because the 32GB variant is SDHC and the 64GB variant is SDXC. I'm not sure how important XAVC-S is, because I don't make much videos. But it's at least worth mentioning!
XAVC-S is the only Codec that allows a higher bitrate (50Mb/s) which gives more information in movement and shadows, rendering sharper and clearer images in those aspects. It's also capable of recording 60p(progressive) fps. Quick note: it saves the files in a .mp4 format, or wrapper, which may make people think that it has no difference, but it surely does.
I carry two batteries around with me but because of problems with resetting the gimbal each time which I am not very good at, whilst doing a lot of filming I recharge the battery from a power bank. I find by the time it has cooled down, it has got a bit more charge in it.
Hi! Greetings from China!! I really love your videos because they helped me saving a lot of money! Before I saw your videos, I have already purchased an a6500 and a SEL16-70 ZA. Now I updated my a6500 to an a7 iii and bought an old NEX 5R for daily and travel uses. The ZA lens is a bit heavy and not enough for telephoto. Noticing the ZA lenses have some problems with its quality control and my ZA lens performs really good, I wonder weather I should sell it for a SEL 18-135 lens or buy a SEL 16-50 lense and a VPR1 tripod...
Hi Arthur, I watch your episodes on the channel with great pleasure. Thank you for paying a lot of attention to the old Sony A6000 camera, it is a camera with great possibilities for taking photos and videos, I have Sony A6500 and A6400 cameras, but I still take great pleasure in shooting with the A6000. I have a question for you, in all your shootings your wife is the main model, please tell me, she always agrees to be shooting, no problem?
I got the a6000 last year and do enjoy it. I may upgrade to a6500 sometime in the future, mainly because IBIS and 4k. So if you record a lot of video you might want to get the a6500, but otherwise the a6000 is great, especially paired with the Sigma 30mm 1.4 dc dn :)
No. Not a good choice. December 31 2017 was last day to buy it. Definitely would not buy anything older than 2 years. You have to have everything latest and newest to get great shots. I even change lens cap in every 2 years..
Kutkis you must be really ignorant to say something like that. No equipment regardless how expensive will make you do some good shoots... it's just a tool, your brain and your eyes making the photo
Thank you he heaps for introducing me to extension tubes. Your style of doing videos is very professional. I just subscribed with the bell icon. I'm a total beginner to alpha series or evne to photography. Your tips are amaizing.
I have most of these (thanks to your recommendations before) Next up should be the tripod, though still debating if I'd be better suited with a monopod. Great video as always!
I'm here getting a nearly new zhiyun crane 2 with the focus servo and a monopod, to use initially with a Nikon D7500 but I have seen a second hand Sony that I might get for it, why I'm here, looking into it.
Dear ThechnoMafia, Thanks for your show, it is very helpfull and informative, you are already doing a great job. Nevertheless I am still waiting for a reviw on18-200mm lens from sony and Tamron. Hope you are able to do it some day. Thanks from Brazil....
Cool accessories... I got the battery pack one week after I got my camera... and for the flashes... I'm thinking on getting the Godox AD200, have you done any review or test shots with this light? I would love to hear from you about it....
That little ac usb wall plug doesn't come with the charger (base), of course these days people have bunches of those but some people might think the power brick is supposed to come with it.
Is this the first time you've recommended the 18-105 walkaround or have I just missed it? Just got myself a 6300 and bought the 35mm as my first prime based on your recommendation. Thanks so much for your amazing reviews!
I want to ask... Which lens can be used for full photo? Means the lens which capture all photo content.. Neither blow the back nor capture any particular thing?
Hi, can you advise and give me details of gimbal and flash light? Please. Also what you recommend to get better nice video with filters? Which ones gives you better look. Thanks
In terms of SD card speed, the Sony A6000's SD controller tops out at around 35MB/s, though it is good to go for at least a UHS1 card that can do around 100MB/s so if you get a newer camera, you will benefit from a faster SD controller. Get a good card now that you won't have to upgrade anytime soon unless you move to XQD cards.
So ?. Going on a trip to New York and was wondering how you carry the a6000 and lenses around all day. Do you use a backpack or what would you suggest or have had the best luck with? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Forgot one last comment. Most mono pods won’t get the viewfinder up to eye level. Again took some PVE cut to length and added an extension to the monopod. Now I can stand tall and the view finder is at my eye level
What....no camera bag? Where do you stuff your lenses when out on a shoot? I have several primes that I use (and switch often), so I must have a bag/case for the accessories....when the accessories become an accessory.
Great videos. Thanks! I am looking at picking up an a6000 as a second camera to my HEAVY Pentax dslr. I am doing this to go light and small. My question is about lenses. Specifically, is there a list of lenses that are corrected in-camera (distortion, etc.) I am considering several non-sony's: Sigma 19mm f2.8, Tamron 24mm f2.8. Right now, I don't intend to post-process. I just want to take advantage of the in-camera compensation of jpeg's. Favorite photos are scenery, historic buildings, travel. I have also considered Viltrox 23mm f1.4. (too big/heavy), and Sony 28mm f2 (not sure that I'd like the 28mm (42 EQV). Again, think I want light and compact. (Note: I have apsc 35(50) and 50(75) with the Pentax.) How can I find the lenses that are corrected in-a6000. Certain firmware versions? Thanks. Joe W.
Can you do a video balancing the A6000 on the gimble? My bf has the same one and kind of struggles getting it right. I have a project coming up and my professor only allows stable shots, so if I borrow the gimble, I'd like to know how to do it. Thanks!
I prefer to use smaller cards. They force you to unload more often so you're less likely to lose a bunch of pics if the card corrupts or you lose it or something.
What is the difference between SD and Micro SD? For example the one in the description and some like SanDisk 128 extreme, the One UHS-I, U3, V30 etc etc
