Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I bought a 2017 refurbished iPad Pro to 'paint' plein air scenes for future paintings (using Procreate) and I love it. Sadly, it has only 64GB memory so I'll be upgrading soon.

I am considering an older Ipad just for procreate (hardliner PC user, can use apple, but have not had good experiences overall with them) BUT procreate seems worth it. Yes, this is useful information, especially the details of how I can use an older set up and still have the functionality I need.

Awesome, yes my 2018 ipad is still great. I know the 2024 versions are really incredible and will probably upgrade soon but the older models do the job!

I'm a PC person too! My dad helped me build a "gaming" quality computer a couple years ago and it's the best thing. So much bang for your buck! Great recommendations! I definitely need to learn bridge!

I love these behind the scene videos. I’m such a tech nerd…I love to see what people use. I’ve used a Wacom Intuos Pro for years for photo editing, but just struggle using it to draw. I’m actually looking at a xp-pen display tablet right now. I also tried using my iPad as a display tablet with the side board utility.

There is definitely a learning curve for the intuous because of the disconnect but I went from using a mouse to an intuous so it was a major improvement! The cintiq was an easier jump!

If you were to purchase a new iPad, what size of storage would you recommend?

If you're planning to draw and store art files on it, the more the better- basically as much as you can reasonably afford. Mine is 256 GB and I've used it for 5 years without needing more storage, but it depends on how you use it. I do more sketches than full art on it and I do delete older sketches that I've transferred to my desktop.

Great question, it really varies based on experience, your income streams, how commercially appealing your art is, etc. I will add this question to the list of videos to potentially create to break it down. Currently, my own art brings in between $2,000 and $5,000 a month. However it is not my only focus these days as I also teach classes.
