These are some top tier picks! I mostly agree with you. The only thing I haven’t read is the Jason Aaron Thor run. I’ve heard it’s incredible though so I plan on reading it at some point on Marvel Unlimited.
This was a great video. I appreciated the little synopsis you gave for each book. Uncanny X-Men, X-Men by Claremont & Lee, Thor by Aaron, & Daredevil by Miller are all on my TBR list.
Excellent stuff, but you’re gonna cost me money!!, I’ll have to try and get that Infinity Gauntlet omnibus!! Anyhoo, here’s mine.. Alpha Flight by Byrne Astonishing X-Men by Whedon Daredevil by Bendis vol 1 X-men vol 2 by Lee Uncanny X-Force by Remender Fantastic Four by Byrne Vol 1 Amazing Spider-Man by Straz Vol 2 Avengers by Hickman (I can’t choose between 1&2!) X-men by Hickman Fantastic Four by Hickman As you can see there’s a wee Byrne & Hickman love going on but in all honesty I do love both their work!, great stuff buddy, here’s looking forward to a DC top ten?? 👍
Nice list! I think I may well do a DC top ten, possibly even a "Ten More Favourite Marvel Omnis" kind of thing just because I keep thinking of other books I could've included in this list 😅
Awesome to see you trying out a new type of video! Love to see Ultimate Spider-Man, Romita’s ASM, and Miller’s Daredevil on the list. If I were to make a list of my own, those would most definitely be there! And congrats on the imminent 1k subs 🙂
Another awesome video! I would've never considered the new mutants but now I'm going to check them out. As other commentors have said, now I'm going to go spend some money. Keep up the great work, I'm watching your new mutants review next.
For me my top 5 omnibus are Gotham Central Omnibus, X-Men Age of Apocalypse Omnibus, Batman by Loeb and Tim Sale Omnibus, Daredevil by Bendis Omnibus 1&2 and Conan the Barbarian by Busiek/North Omnibus.
Great pick, my favorite runs are definitely Spider-Man and X-Men but I would put all 4 X-Men Omnibus in there lol. I would also add Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender. Great stuff sir!
@@TheComicBookTrove lol do it! Def would like to watch that. We have a couple of good runs. Hickman latest run was fantastic. Duggan is doing pretty good with the new X-Men run. And Gillen with Immortal X have been amazing!
First time watching your channel, really enjoyed your thoughts. All great choices even though my 10 would be totally different, it’s actually difficult to limit it to just 10 tbh.
I don't have the Blackest Night omnibus, I don't tend to get many event books in general. I've heard good things about McKay's Black Cat though so might check that one out
What are yout thoughts on the Cosmic Ghost Rider omnibus by Donny Cates ; Silver Surfer Omni by Slott/Allred and X-factor Investigations by Peter David?
Wow you need just 1 more subscriber to reach 1k. I have most of these omnis...seems i comment on all the book reviews that I end up getting. Im more of a Silver and Bronze age collector. Iron Man vol 1 and 2 and Dracula 70s...were hard to get but got them!
I'd start with volume 1 of Peter David's run rather than 2, 3 or 4 because for the most part it's really one long story. But you don't really need to read anything that takes place before David's run, I hadn't read the run before it and I didn't have any trouble getting into it anyway
It's just Thor By Jason Aaron Vol 1. I think there's a paperback collection just collecting some of the Jane Foster Thor material called Goddess of Thunder with the same front cover
I can't bring myself to buy older omnis, X-Men is the only title I can go back that far with the artwork and still enjoy it. I know it's blasphemous to say that, but anything before early 90s I just don't like the artwork, there's barely any shading. But there's just so many books of modern stuff I enjoy to make room for silver or bronze age.
@@bernielockard1827 I don't know man I bought Spiderman omnibus 2,3,5 and I just don't like how over explanitory it is. And I don't really like the artwork. I guess I'm just more of a fan of multi issue stories. not single issues, single story comics.
@@brandon17760 that’s totally fair. I’m also somewhat the same, but I still do enjoy the older runs. But it’s hard for them to ever be my favorite omnibuses. FF, Spider-Man, X-Men, and Hulk are the only 3 titles that I rly enjoy of the pre 90s
I'd say Bendis, Waid, Nocenti and Brubaker for example all had good runs, but I think Miller's run will always be the best and it's only because of what Miller did with the series/character that those others who came after could essentially follow in his footsteps
I bought and read that "New Mutants" omnibus too. Enjoyed it a lot, but thought it strange as I read it how Xi'an Coy Manh (Karma) just seemed to disappear and I kept waiting for her to come back, but it never happened. LOL! I'm also probably in the minority for this opinion, but really wasn't a fan of the Sienckiewicz art in it. Agree on that "X-men" omnibus too. Love that era and all the art and stories in it are just so good and serve as the foundation for those characters as written by Claremont back in those days. Don't have that Peter David "Hulk" but would love to read it sometime if I can find a copy. That "Daredevil" is a classic, and still my favorite stories for the character to this day.
