Annette - you are always so informative in your videos, and such a pleasure watching. I catch all your videos - whether it's making flowers, mini albums or planners - thank you for sharing your talent!!!
Cheryl, you are always so kind. Thank you so much! It really makes me happy to know you're enjoying them and learning something new. It's my goal, so it's nice to know when I've accomplished that.
A very well done video. I just started with the sidekick. Your recommendation will be very helpful for future purchases. I love how colorful your planners are, they bring joy.
Thank you so much Mary Anne. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The Sidekick is a great one to start with. I hope you're enjoying making your pages as well! Thanks for watching.
Me too! (clearly) Be sure to check out my updated top 10 recommended ECD products for planner making. Here's the link to that one if you want to check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X180f2RSkDw.htmlsi=X7gGsAfri9gi8ig_

Watched this video 2 maybe 3 times. I love watching your videos. I’m always seeing something new. Mostly I need the inspiration. I enjoy Els and David too, but you are my favorite. I look forward to your videos.
I needed this info badly. Could not figure out what the story was with the essentials/sidekick products. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING ALL THIS INFO.
Hey Annette....this was such an informative video for both beginners and those who have more experience. QUESTION: What I would really like to know is how we can alter the covers of the planners, what inks should we use, can we use rub-ons (will they last if used on a cover), and videos showing the various supplies we can use, etc? I'm 'assuming' any ink we use on a cover would be an archival ink or Staz-On but I really don't know for sure and I don't want to ruin a Planner Book by experiencing as they are an investment. Annette, your planners are absolutely gorgeous, each and every one of them (it was such a treat watching you flip thru them all). I can only imagine how busy you are but I think a lot of crafters would love to see a more indepth video on altering the planner covers but hey, I'm relatively new to the planner world myself. Anyway, take care, stay safe, a huge thank you, and until next time...
Hi Nancy, and thanks! You've given me a good idea of a new video topic! I've decorated several planner covers in different ways, so I'll be sure to show those in the video. But for now, to answer your question about ink, I haven't tried Stazon, but I have used Archival and it works beautifully. I have also covered mine with collaged paper bits, but not rub-ons yet. (hmmm... that would be pretty, but would it work? I think I'll give it a try and talk about that in the video too.) I have covered mine in fabric, and I've also applied texture paste. So thanks again for the suggestion. I'll definitely cover all of that soon in a new video.
Thank you, very informative. Just found ECD and ordered my first set of dies and stamps. Looking forward to learning much more about ECD. You provide a very good video. 😊 New subscriber! 🌟
Hi Kathi and welcome aboard! Great to have you here sharing the fun of planner dies and stamps. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. And you can find many many videos here on planning making.
I'm a huge ECD fan and have some of the Planner Essential dies you highlighted. I've even discovered if there's a Sidekick page die I particularly like I can still use it and glue it to a larger planner page and it looks great. Your suggestions are useful both for beginners and those of us who already use these dies. Thanks so much for this video. ~Marilee
Great video, Annette! It's very nice to know what to get when first starting out with a planner, that way you don't need to buy all of them at once. So very helpful. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you so much! Take care!
This video was so helpful ! Thank you ! I just discovered Elizabeth craft designs last year and kinda jumped right in, now I can shop to fill in some necessities.
The smaller size planner is great too! I hope you still found this helpful, since my focus was more on the larger planner dies. Thanks so much for your kind words.
This is a very nice overview of the different options available for 'planning a planner'. I found it quite useful. Also your planners are beautiful works of art!
Thanks so much Shirley. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. My planners are now a treasure to me, and this is why I love making them so much. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. If you go up into the description and scroll all the way to the bottom to my Amazon link, click on it and you will find those products under Craft room organization. Also, I should mention that I have an updated video to this one I did more recently since many of these dies I mention are now retired.
This was a great overview of the collection... It certainly was very helpful.. love seeing the product and how you use it ... Always enjoy your videos...
Great info for starting out. You do realize that the piece of matching vinyl on the elastic strap is to cover the opening on your notebook. I just noticed that you never use it that way. I love all your journals.
Loved this video so invested in a planner while I was on vacation knowing I had purchased several planner essentials over past years. So once I got home knew which ones to order unfortunately I couldn’t find any of these on the website. I don’t understand why
No worries. This video is rather old now, so I need to do an newer one. ECD has lots of great NEW dies and they don't last forever, so I'll have to update my favorites each year. Stay tuned for that soon.
I absolutely love your videos, both for the information and to see your beautiful creations, I have watched each multiple times. I am an all in crafter, and these planner dies are my latest obsession. My wish list was just extended with a few more must haves. Thank you so much for the helpful descriptions of each set.
Thank you so very much Nalenka, for your very kind words. I'm so happy you've been enjoying my videos and creations. The dies are fantastic and I know you're enjoying them as much as I am. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate your kindness.
Merci Annette pour cette vidéo qui me donne énormément d’idées J’adore vos vidéos et regrette de ne pas trouver en France tous ces papiers comme 49 and market
My reply in French, using Google Translate: Merci beaucoup. C'est dommage que vous ne trouviez pas 49 et Market là où vous vous trouvez. Peut-être pouvez-vous commander quelque part ? Ou remplacer par d'autres jolis papiers. Merci d'avoir regardé.
ECD does not carry a slimline planner line, however they do have a few nice slimline dies. Just search the website to check those out. Thanks for watching, Alie. 😊
This video is so helpful! Each time I’m ready to buy another die, I consult your review. Would you please tell me what is the word included in Planner Essentials set 26? I’m puzzling over it. 😅
Love your videos! Always so informative. How did you do the mini sunflower album for Graphic 45 at around 11:12 of your video?😅 Do you have another video teaching that?
i did bye my fist ecd dies viewmaster dies love it. but i have a book as my planner so i use them in heartfelt the albums they made before instagram i think its called and i made my own albums using bind it all but i have a problem with the side where you have the holes mine gets broken because if the paper soo what kind i paper is good for the problem? i have to get some more of the planner dies they are soooooo lovely ! and i use they in my layouts to
Do you know if there is a set that has a tab to match/coordinate with the shape of the tabs in the Planner Essentials sets 1, 2, & 3? I’d like to be able to reinforce the tabs on the pages with coordinating tabs. Thanks for your time. Great video and information!
Hi Di, and thank you. Yes! Check out Planner Essentials 21 Note Pieces. There are two different fold-over page tabs in that die set. Also, Planner Essentials 41 Rounded Corner Page has three different single sided tabs. Hope that helps you. Thanks for watching!
I size and print my own photos according to my needs. I share this in several of my planner videos. I'm glad you found it helpful. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for your RU-vid channel. Just discovered ECD line and your channel. Very helpful. One question. What is the backing you store your die in? ( I know the pocket they are in but the dies are on something…)
Hello Annette. I love your planners and have a question. Your pages look very sturdy. Do you use one or 2 pieces of patterned card like in the ECD book or do you use some kind of card between paper pages. I’m a real newbie and struggling. Thanks for any help xxx
Hi Julie and thank you. Excellent question. When I'm using ECD papers from The Book series, I use the sturdy sheets in the back of the paper pad. If I use other companies' papers that are thinner, I like to use some cardstock behind those. I like my pages to be fairly sturdy and not flimsy. I hope that answers your question. By the way, welcome newbie! Try not to struggle. I'm here for help if you need more.
Great to hear, Susan, thanks! I try to limit the whole year to one planner. It gets pretty full! But I also put photos in my datebook planner (the top photo each month) I don't really "scrapbook" often like some do. No grandkids, no kids at home anymore. So I tend to scrapbook just highlights of our year. Then the December Day by Day planner is a whole separate one.
@@AnnetteGreen so your datebook planner has your Etsy pages and one photo a month? Then you have a separate planner for??? I love the idea of doing creative pages and including photos but just trying to figure out how to make it work for me. I’ve done big scrapbooks in the past but thought I could marry memory keeping with creativity. Keep making those videos!
@@susanweber6861 Yes, I have a separate planner that I consider my memory keeper, aka scrapbook. I do one every year and each spread contains more photos than my datebook style planner, which as you said, has one photo per month.
Yes, they are now discontinued, but fear not, there are many new ones out to replace the old. Just peruse the ECD website to see for yourself. Also I have an updated top ten video you should check out since this one is rather old now. Here's the direct link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X180f2RSkDw.htmlsi=tfbQRMVaO7iLZftA
Hi Bettie, we had some technical issues with sound at first, so I closed down the Live. When I restarted, I was on the other ECD page (Elizabeth Craft Designs Family) in Facebook which is a private group. (My mistake in my panicked state) The video is saved there now. If you're not already in the group, just simply go there and request to join. You'll be accepted pretty quickly and you can view the video. We are working on a way to save it to the ECD RU-vid channel as well, but so far no luck. Hopefully soon. Sorry about the confusion.
If you mean Facebook Groups, yes! There are several. Search for Elizabeth Craft Designs Family, ECD Planners & Journaling, and BadAss ArtChicks for a start.
Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for watching. I use frosted envelopes from Scrapbook.com (or Sizzix) and magnetic sheets from Craftopia. I cut and mount the magnet sheets (which are adhesive backed) to a piece of scrap chipboard, label them, and put them in the frosted envelopes. All of which are stored in a basket-style bin. I have a link in my Amazon shop of the items I like to use if you want to check it out: www.amazon.com/shop/annettegreen
Thanks Esther! It's a fabulous collection, ALL of it! I hope it shows how much I love them all. I truly enjoy planner making and love to share with others. Thanks for your awesome designs!
