Haha thanks. Too bad the algorithm doesn't seem to like it haha. Lately, less than 7% of my actual subscribers are even being notified about my videos. I gotta shake the funk. Anyhow, great to see you my friend! Cheers !
Some of the largest struggles for many the realm of egg layers is feeding the fry, too early, too much, ect. Then, the water quality stunting or slowing the growth of siblings to the point of becoming food for the largest of the batch. I think the spawning part is the easy part. Great information. Thanks for sharing, Alex 😊 😁
Yep I'm raising glowlight danio fry at the moment. The parents spawned while in a bare bottomed quarantine tank, 2 days after I purchased them. The fry are nearly 2 months old now and are still pretty small. They might be stunted.
8:41. I Fish professionally for a living for 24 years. I am known for catching some of the largest Musky in Northern Ontario and can confirm this is a MAJOR strategy in targeting the largest hard to catch fish
@@supremeleaderarmy9164 Yeh, that might be the better option. Less "boom" to attract the attention of law enforcement. and pretty much the same yield. That's probably the preferable method.
When you make these titles and thumbnails it sounds playful and fun instead of clickbaity. Probably because we know there is good content waiting for us
Im really these new short form videos ! You’re combining all your nerdy knowledge with cool punchy pictures and giving onfo I’ve never heard! Keep it up!!
Good thing you reminded me to check your channel to watch the most recent video because you’re right about the algorithm which is really screwed up. I never want to miss any video you do
@@Fishtory you made a comment in one of your videos that the sea chem excel will kill Val so I dumped mine out because I never used it anyway. My question is will the sea chem excel flourish also kill Val or is that fine to use as a plant fertiliser in tiny quantities?
I love your editing, thumbnail and intro. That's how much I have seen. I just wanted to let you know before I forgot to mention it :) And! a nice background in the garden - it gives me happy thoughts (summer vibes). And now I will watch the rest (when my coffee is ready).
@@Fishtory I blinked twice ;) I would though suggest some other videos in the outro if I was you :) That's not begging but a nice way of suggesting more good information. I also think those who are watching you and have autoplay on will see a new video that you suggested automatically. I think that it is a nice way of boosting viewership :) I am not saying your outro was not good because I liked it :) Also, I like it when you have graphs on. Because I like science I would love to see a reference to the article (yes I am academically damaged 😂😂). Just so I can read more into it :)
This is a video packed with tons of information 😊, I'll be using a lot of this information. Thank you for your hard work, and I wish you and your family the best 🙏
Yeah, that's very common with smaller fish. They likely are eating them, or hatching and then eating the new born fry. If you see them spawn again, you can try placing the adults into a fry pen or separate tank for a week or two and see if you have some babies survive. I have videos on breeding celestial pearl danios and other rasboras...and the same is true of tetras or any egg scattering species.
Hey Alex, if I start a fishless cycle with ammonium chloride, should I be adding the bacteria in a bottle immediately alongside it? It will be my first tank and I don’t have any friends to get used media from.
Yeah you wanna add the bottle bacteria, then however much ammonia it suggests immediately after. You can also just use a pinch of fish food every few days if you want to create ammonia .
Alex I have a question ,I have a 40 breeder comunity tank .The cherry barbs spawn nearly constantly and evry two weeks or so a little female cherry barb shows up,always female, how do I get males ,whats going on here?
Could be a temperature thing. Try turning down the temperature about 3 or 4 degrees if you're at 77+ f. That can determine sex ratios in cyprinids and livebearers notoriously. Good luck 👍
@@Fishtory that's the reason why i got a heater in my guppy tanks. @martianalligatorfarm3561 I hope you will have great success with changing your temperature :) It may take one or two spawn to adjust in my experience.
@@Fishtory im 23 now been dipnetting here since I was 11. The moment I catch a jewel cichlid the spot is dead. its just them, mosquito fish, and a small school of mollies afterwards
@@Fishtory Its just wild cause i always dealt with unwordly fish. Jewel cichlids ended the mystery of a trip. Idk if they are super predator or good at finding eggs but u go from florida and the worlds fish to nothing but stocked
