I knew about the famous 1:39 meme, but I never knew where it came from. Imagine my surprise when I discover that it is from an extremely passionate nearly 3 hours video about my favorite JRPG series of all time. The way you talked about all those moments in the games made me relive them in my memory like it happened yesterday. I had chills. You are the GOAT man!

I started this journey back in December in small part because my friends sent me the section that starts at 1:39. I just finished CS3 today and the first thing I did was boot up this video. I can finally watch the end. What a journey its been man. These games are incredible. Onward to CS4!

Who would watch a 3 hour video on a game series? Someone who played this series! *puts video on play*. Kiseki is my fave series bar none. I just started cs4 yesterday (amazon pre order necer arrived, gave up and bought it elsewhere after over a week). Cant wait to get back home and binge on it.

Your enthusiasm with this series is exactly how I feel. It's so special and I've never experienced anything like it. And if people will just dedicate the time to start from Sky FC, the pay off is ENORMOUS. Even the "slower" games (typically the first game of new arcs) if people can just take everything in and keep playing through: Trails endings make it all worthwhile. The endings of these games are nuuuuuuuts. Always. Jaw hits the floor every. Single. Time.

FEB 2023 Playing through sky fc RN. Will be back to this video and comment about it. I can feel the beginning of greatness. Edit 1 : Finished Sky FC , I loved it. The world was fun and the characters were engaging. The combat and music was simple but just really fun. I love Estelle as a protagonist , shes very tomboy-ish but not in a generic way. Very realistic! The plot was OK but it leads really well into SC so im hooked for the rest of the franchise at this point. Going to update later after finishing SC too! Look forward to it. OCT 2023 Edit 2 : THis one is late...I finished Sky 2 , 3 and EVEN ZERO due to how much of a crackhead I've become for this franchise. So lets get into it shall we? Sky SC : Loewe MASTERCLASS , GOAT , RAW , FIRE , PEAK. The foreshadowing to Sky 3 , Kevin , Weissmen and Joshua? Joshua may have just entered my personal hall of fame with this one. Agate and Tita's relationship is so reminiscent of Guts and Scherke from Berserk , I cant help but love it. And that reveal with Olivier???? Nah this is some Gourmet class food. It got so dark that I couldn't even believe this was the same franchise as FC. This is my favorite game in the franchise so far but BARELY over Sky 3 and ZERO. Sky 3 : This....was the most emotional one out of all the trilogy , its clever game design that allowed focus on Side characters and previous villains was crazy. Star door 14 was something else. The salt pale is very mysterious and I cant wait to find out more about it. THis game definitely feels like it sets up damn near the rest of this franchises plot. There's so many unanswered questions. Also SC made me ball my eyes out once but this game made it happen 5 TIMES...5 WHOLE TIMES!?!? Nah this game had no regard for my feelings FR. ZERO : When I went into this game , I felt so weird seeing the updated characters designs and shift in perspective , vibe , music and just about everything. NGL I wasn't enjoying it at first but ever since "Golden Sun , Silver Moon" , I was hooked. Although I don't like it as much as any of the sky games except FC , im sure AZURE will change that. I played the newly released Steam Version! So it had so many cool new things , although I felt the translation was a little off? I don't know why. Anyways , must protect KeA at all costs! And that does it for edit 2! Expect another batch edit sometime in the future...life is being a pain RN but I will be back!

Bro Trails in the Sky FC is SHOCKINGLY GOOD. I remember playing it on vita when it came out and the story and graphics and just heart that the game had especially as a portable title off a PSP of all things blew my mind. It’s shocking how littlepeople know about this series in the west given how high quality it is.

This is such a joy to watch. It's like finally I see someone who enjoys this whole series with every bit of enthusiasm as I do, and perhaps even more, and just wants everyone to know how incredible these games are.

Kiseki is definitely one of my favorite series of all time, and definitely my favorite jrpg series, hearing you gush about it was lots of fun and so much of what you mentioned is why I love it so much! I started the series early last year and finished up the most recent release in Japan with Hajimari, hope you enjoy the rest of this ride with the rest of us!

I don't think words can express how much I and everyone who played most/all games in this series recommend this to anyone looking for a great story of immense size. The only reason not to play these would be because you lack the free time to do so. Someone making an almost 3hr video on a game should also be an indicator of how passionate trails fans are about their game series.

As I’m going through the series currently. Finished the sky trilogy and just finished chapter 1 of zero. What an incredible series! Can’t wait to continue to play these games which are true peak. I keep getting yelled the best has yet to come and I can’t wait! Also what an awesome video from the very small part I have been able to watch so far to avoid spoilers. Back to trails!

I got sucked into the Trails Series in the summer of '20. As of now, I've knocked out the Liberl Arc, the Crossbell Arc, and I'm on Cold Steel 2. Each game I have logged around at least 180-220+ hours. also consumed all the drama cds and some of the manga. My life has become Trails. Everything else is secondary. I never heard of the series, I used to get on playstation store and look for games on sale. I found myself stopping at a certain game each time and checking if it had a sale. Never heard of Trails of Cold Steel before, but I thought the girls on the art were so hot. One week i caved and bought it full price. Played and got to the middle of the prologue and discovered how it was part of a big series. I knew I had to stop playing and do it right and start at the beginning. Never heard of Steam until I searched for Trails in the Sky. Got my outdated laptop out and got on Steam, and well, the rest is history.

Bruh... I just finished SC (and subsequently your video up until you start talking about the 3rd game). I've been alive for 29 years and I've done a lot of gaming. This god damn game changed me in a way no other game has done before and you're sitting here telling me this isn't the peak of this franchise? That there are multiple games on this level or higher? I don't think I'm ready for this man. I don't think I deserve this level of entertainment. This is crazy.

i began sky FC back in february of this year, and since then i've played every game up to CS2 which i'm just about finished with. FC, SC, 3rd, zero, azure, CS1, and now CS2 it completely blows my mind how this series continues to remain emotionally engaging, charming, hype as hell, and so beautifully interconnected. from the journey of estelle and joshua in FC and SC, kevin's arc of self-forgiveness in 3rd, lloyd and the SSS' unrelenting battle against the odds in zero and azure, and now the ever-changing, despair yet hope of rean in CS1 and CS2, there's such a magic to kiseki that i have never found in any other franchise. i'm taking a bit of a break before i start CS3 so i cannot watch this in full just yet, but rest assured when i make my way to it, CS4, and reverie, i will be revisiting your indelible words of hype and passion that honestly helped serve as a catalyst to finally trying this series to begin with. thank you king recon, trails gang for life baby

For the past few months ive been playing this series and just got to CS4. I recently remembered that youre the reason why i even know about it.

I’ve been waiting to watch this video for a while now, I watched it probably around the time you released it and it piqued my interest, but I was in the middle of playing Persona 4 Golden at the time. When I ended up finishing that game I thought to give this series a try (i had heard it described as the One Piece of JRPG’s), and I had a very similar experience to you playing through FC. Took me about a year of on and off playing to finally finish the game, and I had that hook point at the end to where I needed to play the rest. Today, after a 12 hour session, and about 113 hours of total gametime, I finally finished SC, and I just NEEDED to hear someone talk about it. Because for me, there were no words. I don’t even know how to describe the emotions I felt during the ending of that game. The scene that stood out the me the most, and really cut deep, was the kiss between Estelle and Joshua, as the pillar breaks, and you go into the animated cutscene and see the sun shining behind this massive structure as you are falling. Forever imprinted in my mind. I guess I mean this whole thing as a thank you to you. I’ve been following you since chapter 984, the one where yamato takes off the mask, and I really couldn’t imagine my current One Piece experience without your videos. Same thing for the Monogatari series, and of course, Trails. I can tell that this will be a new series that will keep on blessing me with these treasured memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. So once again, thank you, and I wish you all the best.

Hey man, glad you are also the fan of the series. Just as yourself, i also got hooked on this series, doing the flow of CS1->CS2->FC->SC->TC->ZERO->AO->CS3 ->CS4. My favorite saga being crossbell since i love the characters/story there so much, (FC+SC is close second). I binged all of the games as soon as possible (probably played 10-12 hours a day) and they helped me get trough pretty tough period in my life. I was so invested that i bought CS3 and CS4 from japanese psn store and played them using spreadsheet of fan translations even though i couldn't read single word of japanese. Soundtrack in the Falcom games is so amazing that i made a playlist for both Kiseki and YS series and still occasionally listen to them while i work. Watching your video made me remember all the hype moments, kudos to you good sir. I'm pretty much hardcode falcom fan at this point and i recommend getting into YS series as well if you haven't already done so, take care

This was a great video! I watched most of it a few days ago(I skipped the Zero/Ao sections because I still haven't finished those yet - I'm currently playing CS4 and Zero simultaneously, lol). Also, since I figured some people may be interested, it was announced that Zero, Ao, Cold Steel 1 and Cold Steel 2 are all getting Switch ports in Asia next year. So while it hasn't been confirmed yet, it is possible that we may be getting the localized versions for all of them on the Switch as well. With CS3 on the Switch already and CS4's Switch port coming out next year, that is 6 out of the 10 games in the series on the Switch. That only leaves Sky FC, SC, Third and Hajimari. It makes sense for Hajimari because it is still pretty new, but it is kind of odd that the Sky games have been left out for whatever reason. Anyways, here's hoping that they'll port the Sky games as well as localize all of them for Switch players!

coming back to this video a month later because it hyped me up to start Cold Steel 3 and i went on a 100 hr binge over these four weeks to finish that monstrosity, i didnt believe you when you said it was on the level of sc and ao but damn you were right, still doesnt beat ao for me but that was one hell of a journey cant wait to play Cold Steel 4, if CS3 was the fc for this game its gonna be insane

I've been going through this piece by piece as I've been going through my own Kiseki journey. I beat Sky The 3rd last night and man, Kevin is one of my GOATs espesically after chapter 7 and the events that conspired there. Everything about him is fantastic. The ending goodbyes all hit so hard for me. I cannot wait to get to Crossbell and Cold Steel soon.

you have a very good taste about games and anime....I'm also in love with both trails series and one piece simply because the sheer size of the world, the lore, the layer of the characters, the backstories, the politics(that's actually fun to watch) and a overarching story that build up step by step to meet a grand finale , if this is not "epic", I don't know what counts.

Man you're gonna love CS4. I saw it 2 years ago when it came out in Japan and it was definitely my favourite of the CS saga, it's hype as fuck.

About 15 months ago i left a comment saying that i stopped watching this video during trails in the sky SC spoilers because i was playing the game and that i was hooked to see the story to the end. Thirty minutes ago i finished cold steel 4 and man what a Journey it was. I already feel a big hole in my heart waiting for hajimari and kuro to be localized. That Loewe boss fight with the 3 girls in FC is Balls! It's one of if not, the hardest fight in the entire franchise.

I've finished Cold Steel 3 so I can finally watch this video now. Bro... there's so much I need to talk about. CS3 had such an insane first chapter where you go to Hamel and that Hamel ost started playing. Actual tears in my eyes. Then in chapter 3 where it was revealed Arionrhod had a divine knight. Then also at the end of the chapter Angie digs up Crows grave and George presumably shoots her. BRO I WAS LOSING IT. THEN IN CHAPTER 4 YOU GET THAT 1V1 FIGHT WITH CROW. AND AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER WHEN ASH SHOT THE EMPEROR. Final chapter tho... this has to be the most emotional high for me in the entire Trails series. When I entered that final dungeon and the first boss was ARIONRHOD AND MCBURN, I WAS JUMPING AROUND IN MY ROOM. And then... when you get to the bottom and fight the dragon and Altina was trying to save you and MILLIUM protects her instead and ended up dying. WHEN MILLIUM DIED.. DAWG I WAS BAWLING MY EYES OUT. THEN REAN SNAPPED AND TRANSFORMED VALIMAR. HE WAS RELENTLESS. HE WAS JUST SLASHING AND SLASHING AND SLASHING. Then... Crow gets his memories back... takes his mask off... jumps down and summons ordine and stops Rean. That had to be the most emotional part for me because of how much I cried for Crow when he died in cs2. Man.. I love Crow. I jumped into cs4 seconds after cs3 ended. I can't wait till a lot of these questions are answered. Like how is crow alive. Bro... I just can't wait

loved watching this whole vid!! i could relate to you a lot! but also i just wanted to say that you pronounce some characters' names wrong. like juna is pronounced as yuna, and agate is ah-gaht, jusis is yusis, and joshua is pronounced the hebrew way, so it's supposed to be yoshua, just wanted to let you know since it doesn't seem you know! and azure is like the color, so you don't need that accent on the e at the end! anyways i'm a new subscriber :) love that you're into OP and sports series too!!

I've only played Cold Steel 1 & 2 and am waiting to play Sky & Crossbell to start 3 & 4, but it's great to hear your thoughts on the series, I'm definitely gonna return to the other sections as I play. (SPOILERS for CS1&2) My favorite characters so far are Crow, Olivert, Sharon and Mcburn. (especially Crow because of how similar to Lelouch he is with his anti imperial rebellion, he was hella sus, Blue Destination a banger tho, he's my boi too) The end of CS2 had me bawling for real, glad to hear santa hats were flying for you. I really love the gameplay as well, the ATB system reminds me of Grandia with the AoE attacks. The only real problem I have gameplay wise is not being able to carry your orbments and gear from 1 to 2 and on top of that having to reopen slots. Who is your favorite Ouroboros enforcer btw Recon? (I barely know any but I'm hella excited to meet more)
