Am a flight attendant. The aircraft is like my second home. I agree with you when u say drink a lot of water and stay away from alcohol. This should begin atleast 6 hours before you get on a plane. I drink a big bottle of water before my flights and another big bottle during the flight. After 8 years of flying my skin still has a healthy glow onboard.
I have seen this awful video by Huda Beauty on whole skincare (even with face shaving step) and makeup on plane... It has nothing common with healthy beauty to leave a plane with full nightout makeup. GREAT video Susan. Your new happy subscriber ☺

At this point I dont feel sorry for those who kinda ruin their face because they trust that lady so much. Even a blind person can tell how shady she is.
I love seeing people promote healthy skincare habits, but can’t stand when I see people do their skincare routine on the plane. It’s not good info!! I hope this video explains why. 👍
As long as you moisturize beforehand there's nothing wrong with putting more moisturizer on during the flight. That just slows transepidermal water loss. Taking off moisturizer and/or cleansing is a bad idea but boosting hydration to your skin is perfectly fine.
Yesssss! I facepalm at all the RU-vidrs who show off these detailed in-flight skincare routines and I'm like, "NOOOOOOO!". They are honestly doing more damage than good. One of my friends is a flight attendant and she said there's so much bacteria in the air (because it's recycled air) that doing your skincare (especially masks) on the flight will just rub and absorb more gunk into your skin. That's why you break out a lot after a flight. Susan is right - just do the bulk of your skincare routine before your flight.

Ooooh I dig this! I was on a long haul flight 2 months ago and I did all my skincare before the flight (not knowing any of this) and was legit so surprised how moisturised my skin felt throughout the whole flight. Def gonna keep rocking the before flight skincare. 🙋♀️

I have never applied my skincare products on a plane or even before I got on, but ever since I heard you talking about in Deepica’s video, I have started to apply a serum before I get on the plane and it’s very softening and hydrating!
I won't lie Susan's got great skin! It might sound like such a small detail but when she smiles there is no creasing or wrinkling around the eyes. To me that's pretty good! There is a male model/actor named Tyson Beckford who I once saw being interviewed and I noticed that about him as well. I low-key wish someone would ask him if he uses an eye cream so I can know what kind it is. Nah, sorry I take that back, I out and out wish someone would ask him that. I'd buy that eye cream and would like to know whatever products Toni Braxton, Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez are using to have such great skin! But I truly enjoyed this video. I'd like to try some of the products.
Emoretta Robinson Botox? Fillers? Melanin? I don’t think they use any miracle skincare, probably only skin procedures that average people don’t bother with.
I really like Susan, but it really frustrates me when people who get botox recommend/show off skincare... it feels like false advertising. I know SO many youtubers get botox so it's no shade on Susan personally. no skincare product cocktail, no matter how involved, is going to make your skin look as good as botox does :/
You should speak with an expert on the subject, someone who knows about the operation of the plane, some members of my family work in aviation and always talk about how they take care of themselves since they are exposed to dryness and UV rays at that height ... The air is dry, but it is not completely, neither is recycled air, it is partially recycled, they use the air outside the plane to control the environment in the cabin ... the new air enters through the engines and is preheated to 250 degrees before enter the cabin, at that temperature kill any virus and bacteria, you should also consider the height at which the plane is the air is much less polluted, the only bacteria or virus carriers may be people on the plane, even so Think a little about this, where is it most contaminated? In the air conditioning pipes in our homes, offices, subway, restaurants, etc. you will always be exposed, so it is not bad for people to clean their faces and put masks on the plane to take care of their skin.

Great video. I do have one question however, you said to apply an oil on your skin every two hours, so should you apply the oil over your sunscreen and then reapply sunscreen?

So helpful! I want to keep my skin moisturized and protected but felt like its unsanitary to do a skin routine on a plane..so this video makes so much sense and I will try these tips when I fly overseas this week!
This is way too much for my dehydrated, but sensitive and acne prone skin. I would definitely breakout. I don’t apply skincare on a plane unless it’s overnight, because I don’t want to sleep in my makeup and/or sunscreen. Without being able to use a sink to clean my face well (the water on the plane is supposedly bad for you), I would do a more simple routine with light products, so my pores are less likely to clog from heavy products.
Soon I will have 13 hours of travel 1 hour in a car and a 12 hour flight to Germany 🇩🇪 and I usually do skincare when I have 30 minutes left on the flight is that good?
