A video of how it all started with my 07 350z. From when i bought it till now. Enjoy. More videos to come. follow me on ig @ Boosted_projectz for turbo kits and merch go to www.boostedprojectz.com boosted_project...
The engine bay is super cramped on Z's. Hence the top mount turbo setup not having a hood. With the muffler removed there is a lot of room in the back for a turbo setup. Just make sure not to have any boost leaks and it will work great.
LS3 , with a supercharger , belt driven , single 93mm , just another radiator / heat exchanger in front , small pump , 6-700HP , all day and nite , lnngtube headers , true dual exhaust , center exit , set the engine back about 5-6” , lower it some , lose the spare tire , move battery to trunk , , no cats , racing seats , should get you there below 10’
As an hr owner myself this is why I don't boost any of my cars. Too many problems... I'll just keep it fbo n/a. Not the fastest thing around but at least it sounds nice and I won't be on the side of the street or freeway because of broken parts lol. Nice built though, the orange looked better than the white color imo
What was the drag time after the vq37hr swap? Did you use just the bottom half? What was the compression ratio? I have seen guys making goods power on a stock engine. Spun bearing twice? You must be doing something wrong.
amazing build man, hard to believe you could put all that boosrt and nitrous into the system without any forged internals. Just curious, how did you like the rear mount turbo system? I have considered wanting to do that to a car im getting but im leaning towards no because of the lag time and its prone to water and debris, also you cant hear it as good? What do you think, have these ever been a problem for you with the rear mount turbo? Thanks!
Thanks. I enjoyed the rear mount turbo setup. They work just as any other turbo setup. I never really had any issues with the rear mount kit. As for the lag its a more noticeable then a top mount but if you brake boost or use antilag you wont notice any lag.
I’m not an expert on the vqs but to what I’ve understood, once you turbo them you really need to get a tune otherwise you’ll eventually fuck something up. On both the engines he had that he blew he didn’t say anything about getting it tuned, and after he put the hr in and got it tuned he didn’t spin another bearing. So I’m guessing that’s what caused it
Besides the turbo kit itself, you need to upgrade yourself fuel system, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, and a fuel return system if you want to make good power. I would recommend doing your gallery gaskets if you plan to run the stock block. That just something that will prevent issues later on.
Lots of redundancy in a few areas you could have saved some money. Always do research from top to bottom and triple check it before you spin money on the same thing or area multiple times. From car guy to car guy. -2013 G37S 6speed sedan-
Everything i have done on it has improved the car nothing has been done without research. I've spent less money on this build then most other ppl do on builds like mine. I've done all the work on it myself. You been a car guy know when you work on your own car you save a lot of money.
@@boostedprojectz Good job. All our projects are exactly that - PROJECTS. The fact that you are doing some of the work yourself helps SO MUCH. I am not very mechanical - I have an 04 Z (DE) that I’m building and the money and time that it is taking is not whats important. I appreciate your journey & your car is awesome. I just put a 60k mile motor in mine and bought a preowned ProCharger. Hoping for the best results I can get on the path I’m on. I’ll be happy with 450whp and no breakdowns $ :)
Hey man can u email me pictures of how u rand your hot and cold piping please think ima run the same kinda top mount set up like it alottttt lol thanks in advance bro
You might not respond but maybe could I get a mod list I'm sorry if it's to much to ask I wanna make my z like yours I'm new in the car scene I got a 06 z
We have come to believe its was caused by high oil temps. Both time it happen after doing several back to back pulls. First time i didnt even have an oil cooler. I live arizona it gets really hot here
