Haha! That's a great question actually. Thanks for your comment by the way. Short answer: No quite there, needs some fixes. To be fair with you Neel, I can't think myself as Oxbridge student. Also there are just a handful of people studying there coming from similar qualification as me. But if you are interested to study there then go for it, don't get demotivated by my words. But your question is whether I think my personal statement would have got me into Oxbridge. Well, both my personal tutor as well as "UCAS adviser person" in my college liked my personal statement and my UCAS adviser lady is not someone who can be pleased very easily. One thing I did realise from Oxbridge personal statement is that they are mostly like essay and kind of "academia, exam" vibe. But my crappy personal statement is more balanced, talked about extracurricular activities (which I lied about), work experience, books and future plans. Overall, for Oxbridge aim for mostly writing like an essay about your field of interest and just last few lines about your extracurricular activities or other things. Which I didn't do on my personal statement. Of course this are just my thought so make sure to ask your personal tutor when your sixth form/college reopens.
They dont, on their website it says you need a D*D*D in BTEC Computing, not BTEC IT. People get confused because they are both very similar level 3 courses, which is why City accept both for studying computer science. You can still go to Queen Marie's to study one of the less technical subjects like the business degrees, because they accept most BTECs by the sounds of it. Like Business Management for example.
I appreciate the good work and explanations in this video. The content was funny at some point, captivating, but above all very realistic. You made a good point with every explanation you gave and also did not fail to encourage us at the end. Because, really, people have different opinions on personal statement criterions; sometimes making it seem like an ambiguous thing to do, but it isn't, a good explanation like this here, does clear the ambiguity that comes with writing a personal statement.
Hey, you said you did IT at college. I heard that there's 4 exams in total, where unit 11 and 14 are the hardest? Could you tell me what grade you achieved in both units and how you revised for them as well as any advise.
@@aymanramadan2208 Nah mate it has changed. Unit 14 is now a controlled assessment, where we have 8 hours to complete the exam. BTW, how long ago did you do unit 14?
I haven't done anything relevant to CS in the past , I just know the basics of python and java languages, do you think it's possible for me to be accepted in a good university to study CS?
I am pretty sure you'll do very well in university. There are people who literally don't know anything about cs and programming. I am among those people. They will start from scratch and will assume that you know nothing. So knowing something is a great advantage, but even if you don't that's still fine.

Hi, thanks a lot. Well I have started writing my personal statement sometime around September and I sent it around mid October. For me the best time to apply would be as early as you can, so you get answers much quicker than those applying last minutes.
