In this video, I will explain to you my theory concerning one of the Deltarune community’s most burning questions: "What’s gonna happen in the next chapters of Deltarune?" The first section of the video looks at how some of the main characters might develop in the future chapters. The second section looks at what might happen in each future chapter of Deltarune.

So, I've noticed that this video has been doing very well so far, and that means that it's reaching out to a lot of people. As a result, I've noticed that this video has been getting a lot of praise, which is good, but, it's also getting a lot of criticism. So I feel that it would be best to address these to keep the confusion down and ensure everyone is on the same page. 1. I used the term "redemption arc" in this video incorrectly. It was just my way of communicating specific points or "milestones" of character development and what changed to get to that point. So, whenever I use "redemption arc" in this video, I really just mean a "character arc." 2. I made the mistake of assuming that the festival will happen the day after chapter 2 even though the game doesn't explicitly mention about it. Although technically, it could STILL happen in chapter 3, it doesn't mean that it WILL. 3. A lot of people have said that Mike probably isn't going to be the main antagonist of chapter 3 according to the Spamton Q&A and a page on the Spamton Sweepstakes. I should have caught that sooner in hindsight but even then, it doesn't affect my idea of what the main antagonist could be like. The only thing that would change is the name. 4. I also didn't include anything about the vessel in my theory. I didn't mention it in the video but it's for the same reason I didn't include anything relating to Gaster, the shadow crystals, or the egg in the theory (not enough evidence to really form anything solid for any of these). Hopefully, that addresses some of the issues present in this video. Remember that this is my first theory video and the first time I really dove deep into a story so I may be a little rusty on some of the concepts. I'll get better as I do more of these videos. :)

You did a good job! Seriously, this has become one of my favorite deltarune theory videos. And I really like that you didn't inserted Gaster in the chapters. I think that mysteryman get paying too much attention, and other speculation things lost in sight. PROCEED make video even if it doesn't connected with deltarune :D P.S. I have to point something out about your Susie analysis. She didn't necessarily change, but she also did. Her rudeness, selfishness and aloof nature weren't fully real, they were a facade. She was pretending to not want a friend, she was pretending to be all tough and cold but she isn't actually, it was means to protect herself. So she didn't overcome her rudeness and selfishness, she showed her true colours. She just removed her facade. She didn't go from horrible person to "ah I guess this is bad, I'll change", she went from "traumatised and insecure teen who creates a shell of hostility to shield herself" to "okay I think I might be myself around you".

You've made a good point about Susie's character and I understand where you are coming from. She makes a lot more sense now. It can be difficult to really understand the deep nuances of a character and attribute that to what they are like / their personality (it look me a long time to pick up the helplessness in Noelle's character). So that's perhaps why I missed it. I can see where my Susie analysis is flawed now. I still feel that the backstory and the prediction are still valid though but otherwise, thank you for pointing that out. :)

I don't really agree with this interpretation myself. I think it was partially genuine, not just entirely "a facade." Yeah, this attitude was likely fostered and festered due to her rough life lately, but I don't think she's been "knowingly acting this way while feeling differently on the inside" (a facade) due to how outright malicious she was at times in situations that aren't just "putting up a shell to keep people from getting too close". but that's just my personal opinion and read on the character and events :)

@@theSato She was particularly mean towards Kris and I think it came from a place of jealousy of all the things Kris had that she maybe didn't, a fun big brother, a kind childhood friend, a loving mother and healthy home life, it's easy for someone to get jealous when everything you want is right infront of you but it belongs to someone else.

Chapter 1 = Thursday Chapter 2 = Friday Chapter 3 = Saturday Chapter 4 = Sunday Chapter 5 = Monday Chapter 6 = Tuesday Chapter 7 = Wednesday It is a full week and a day represents a chapter. In Chapter 2, Kris can say to Alphys “See you tomorrow” to which she replies “But there is no school tomorrow” which must mean Chapter 2 takes place on a Friday and from that we can find out what the other days are. It makes sense because there are 7 days in a week and there are 7 chapters. It also proves that the Church chapter *does* in fact take place in Chapter 4 because that is Church Sunday

@@artemis_173 I think Rudy means that he just might be visiting or help prepare for Sunday, after all it would completely revaluate Alphys’ line saying “but there’s no school tomorrow” and considering they were in school that day but apparently they don’t have it tomorrow, that means Chapter 2 *HAS* to be a Friday. I can’t believe I am using proof to show what day of the week a chapter of a video game is but here we are XD but if Chapter 3 was a Sunday instead, it would mean we didn’t have school in Chapter 2 because it would apparently be a Saturday which is clearly not true.

@@artemis_173 Also a bit more proof, Toriel wouldn’t let Kris and Susie have a sleepover unless it was the weekend. We already know Toriel is a good caregiver and she is also a good teacher so she would not let Kris and Susie have a sleepover. That was after the school part of Chapter 2

I googled on the whole saturday/sunday church thing and the first thing that came up is that "Seventh-day Adventists" Christians go to church on saturdays bc sunday is Set to be the day of rest in the bible. So I guess that could explain it!

I like the idea of Undyne popping in and out of the story, having her own adventure in the dark world and generally just having fun fighting various darkners while Toriel is fretting over how dangerous this all is. Also, if chapter three does have a weird route, I feel like it's likely that we'll have to use Toriel's protective nature to activate it. Like while she's in your party, you have to repeatedly take damage without attacking with Kris, and eventually she'll see the dark world as too dangerous and do everything she can to protect them. Even if it means killing.

Small point of order but during the Spamton Q&A Mike was brought up and it seemed more like Spamton was protective of him against the ‘[Cathode Crew]’, which seems like Mike is very likely not the boss of tv land.

I think a pretty neat idea for the bunker is if you find Dess she's unconscious, implying she's in a dark world. So you need to open a fountain next to her and find her within the mid-roaring dark world. Probably wrong, but sounds cool to me

I think antenna will be the secret boss. Because tv switched to digital signals and no longer uses the bunny ear antennas. Which would add to the theme of being forgotten or discarded. And if it is an antenna themes boss. Then the mantle could be used to block the analog signal. Like how concrete or led vest can block different waves.

One thing that you didnt include is that im 100% certain that Rouxls will show up in every chapter as a minor annoyance with a new gimmick each time, on top of already being an olde english puzzle master pirate. I mean, him and Lancer are in your inventory at the end of chapter 2 so he's definitely showing up in chapter 3 at least

But you can read the manual in the files though, it's essentially the stuff you get in the tuTORIEL, and not ASRIELly important to the story you might think. It doesn't have all of the ASGOREy details about what will happen in the next chapters, and just gives the general information we get in the beginning, with cute MSans paint drawings.

Plus the manual is described as "dense"; which I can't really see applying to the 12 or so page video game manual from the files.

@@GiftOfKnowledge-np9vg Oooh, that's a very good point. Also, some people speculate that Ralsei and Gaster have a connection, so who knows? Maybe Ralsei is trying to help us (the player) by giving us the manual in the files, but Gaster removed the pages that we don't know in totality? It's just speculation of course, and I'd like Gaster to not be a complete villan, but your point still stands. Maybe Dess or Chara (unlikely) did it? It might even have been the Angel who removed the necessary pages!

@@fsexplorer9727 I also suspect Gaster isn't a true villain, but Undertale didn't really have any of those and there were still people who got in our way. I could see Gaster making all sorts of little 'adjustments' to things to help his experiment run smoothly, even if we might find them inconvenient in some way. Or heck, maybe we're thinking of this backwards. Maybe since Kris wouldn't read the manual, Gaster is helping us by sharing the sections most relevant to us; which includes the control but not the complete prophecy (which is already implied to be very, very detailed).

Noelle is a really interesting inversion of Kris. Kris has a highly caring (yet protective) mother while Noelle’s is strict. Both have fathers who don’t live at home, but Noelle’s is sick while Kris’s is estranged. Their older, role model siblings are both away from home, but nobody knows where Dess is or if she’s ever coming back. They also both have occult experience. I hope the game does something with this

I 100% think Catty and Jockington will be in a future chapter, not only are they the only students left in the classroom with character portraits. (Temmie, Snowy and MK actually don't have character portraits) that have not been given a spotlight, but when you read their dialogue almost all of it was about each other and how they are the best team AND in the toby fox and 3 dads play deltarune chapter 1 live stream toby stated that he expected Jockington to be more popular. I would bet money that both jockington and Catty go into the dark world and they would do it together

They don’t have voice sounds, they have character icons, but I’m pretty sure Noelle and Berdly didn’t have voices until chapter 2, so your point still stands.

This video (which I don't agree with everything) really pointed out some dialogue I definitely missed in my playthroughs. I missed a lot of what Catty had to say about their past and hanging out, and it certainly points toward what a future chapter could be and what part she would have in it. I am in the camp of being convinced Dess is missing in the dark world, and that this disappearance is like the driving force behind most of the plot. The mention of "hanging out in the forrest behind the graveyard" as well as the numerous mentions of Catty doing stuff with the Occult with Kris seems to say to me there may be a chapter involving the graveyard, and that chapter would be the one Catty is brought in. Maybe this is the Church chapter and it spans both? Who knows. But I think every single chapter is going to serve as a way to explain more about Kris' past, their parents separation, and Dess disappearance. So that really seems to point as this being one. If that were the case though, might make more sense to be chapter 5. If the Graveyard really is a prime point in the disappearance of Dess, that would naturally make a good spot to end the next release on, and that ends with Chapter 5.

* I do think that Chapters 3 and 4 will occur on the same day. * Consider that the Knight is making one fountain a day, and that Kris (who is extremely unlikely to be the knight, I don't want to go into that whole thing) also made a fountain. * The knight could not know about that fountain, and thus would make their own in turn, allowing two fountains to be explored on the same day.

This is a prediction based solely on story conventions, but I think maybe the "good dark fountain" (aka Castle Town) will have to be sealed as well in order to end the roaring. It would make the ending of this long journey even more emotional and impactful. Having to say goodbye to Ralsei for good is gonna hit just as hard as having to say goodbye to Asriel. (Bonus: We'll finally get to see what Ralsei is in the light world, and Susie will probably go "Huh" at it.)

My theory is that each secret (or lost) darkner boss will represent a stage of grief, with Jevil being denial, and Spamton being bargaining. And although the popular concept has 5 stages, there's actually 2 more, with guilt after anger, and recognition after depression, with acceptance as the last.

it's also a possibility that when Spamton talked about "easels" he was referring to Swatch. He was talking about people he's worked with during his big shot days, one being at the tv world, and another at Queen's mansion. Swatch mentioned Spamton being one of his most loyal customers, and he's also a representation of MS Paint, which gives "easels" its meaning.

I wouldn't be surprised if Toby intentionally implies that Suzie's parents are not active as parents or even fully neglectful. I would be interested in seeing if it is shown more explicitly instead of just implied, similar to one of my favorite games, Omori. I know Omori is a much darker game, but I think it would be a strong emotional moment in Suzie's storyline.

@AleDubs the only problem i had is with his ralsei is sus section ,which he has footage disproving it. like what people misquote ralsei and say all darkener's who travel to other dark worlds will turn to stone , while what ralsei really said is that darkeners MIGHT turn to stone , and is proven by the OG starwalker. and some what jevil as well. ralsei also in snowgrave out the gates asks the queen why does she wants the roaring , and technically the roaring IS mentioned during the prophecy. and him traveling to other dark worlds is not that odd due to the fact , king and queen meet each other , as well as jevil ,mike , tenna , and spamton have meet each other, so there must be some way it was possible they meet, and also the knight and the strange man both able to go into dark worlds and leave them without closing them and plus it could just be a spell he knows , kinda like sans i guess...

My friend once suggested that the shadow mantle would be the green soul's shield, which would make sense, as -- currently the soul colors you see in the two secret bossfights seem to be the reverse of the order of the 7 souls in undertale (AKA the order of the humans who fell into the underground) (Furthermore, there are 7 chapters of deltarune) -- without the shield you cannot block the arrows, hence, it would be "impossible to win"

I think this game is definitely going to throw us for some loops so who knows how "accurate" any predictions are, but your analysis of the characters and the arcs they could go on is great! 36:03 - Susie also mentions dressing up as a box for Halloween in Chapter 1. All of these mentions intuitively feel like off-hand jokes to me, but it's interesting that it comes up so much. 58:14 - To me, the way Spamton's shop dialogue and the sweepstakes are phrased, it seems like "Mike" and "the TV" are seperate characters. It doesn't really matter what the specific name is though, it's clear TV is gonna be important. 1:13:14 - There's an angel doll in the hospital at some point that was apparently created in youth group, so that might suggest that there are craft supplies in the church recently replayed the game and thought about too many small pieces of dialogue lol

This video succeeds because it sticks to the basics. It creates a methodology and sticks to it. It's a bit straight forward, there's no groundbreaking revolutionary idea that is found, but that's okay because the video succeeded at giving purely an idea of what is known and what is most likely to occur based on analysis. What we have here is a radar image of what settings and themes we might see and its accuracy seems fairly high. And it's good to review this stuff before you end up in a rabbit hole for papyrus knight theory or chess theory. I've been researching Toby's video games for a long time, and while there are many different routes that he could take this game through, there's no way to absolutely know which one and thank God for that. It'd be boring if it were all so easy to guess, huh? Great video!

I'm sure Dess' disappearance is what caused everything to fall apart. It cause Rudy to fall ill, Asgore to get fired, Noelle to become even more timid, Carol to become even more strict, etc. I'm also a believer in "December Knight" (Dess is the Knight). And I'm sure that the Roaring will happen, but the world won't be immediately doomed, and you will have to face and either pacify, reimprison, or kill the Titans. Just the mention of the Titans tells us that we will have to fight them sometime soon.

@@Prominexus Yeah. I also get this feeling that Castle Town and the surrounding area is all that remains of the old Light World, and that Ralsei is the sole survivor of the previous Roaring. Hence why the cutscene where he warns Queen and the others is in flashback sepia: Because it already happened. It explains why Castle Town is empty except for Ralsei, it explains why the cliffs have dust piles and Titan eyes carved into the cliff faces: They are either a desperate bid to appease the Titans, or a warning for the next world. Also, having only himself for company for who knows how long is why Ralsei is so desperate to have friends, why he struggles with empathy. As for how Ralsei survived, perhaps someone (a friend/sibling/parent of his) sacrificed themselves to seal or kill the Titan in the Castle Town Dark Fountain while keeping the Fountain open, purifying the fountain. And this turned Ralsei into a pure Darkener, capable of surviving in any Dark World and being immune to future Roarings. As for how that will be revealed, I’m sure that Ralsei will freeze in horror when he sees a statue of a Titan, perhaps if the villain of Chapter 4’s church-themed Dark World turns out to be the leader of a Titan-worshipping cult, only to relax once he realizes that it is indeed a replica.

One big thing you forgot to consider: On the ride to school in chapter 1, Toriel mentions Asriel is returning in 7 days. Which would work very well with 7 chapters. I feel like you kind of missed Kris' relationship with Asriel in your theory. I suspect that in chapter 7, Asriel might arrive right at the darkest hour (particularly, for Kris)... this is also part of why I think many claims about how the roaring will occur are dubious. Toby fox set up Asriel returning, and I don't think most theories about the roaring would allow that to play out properly, especially if the roaring occurs in chapter 5. I'm not even sure that the roaring will happen--I don't think the prophecy outright confirmed it, but rather said it will happen if light and dark go unbalanced. I think Asriel will show up right at the pivotal moment before the balance is broken, potentially preventing it. There's also ways it could play out with him arriving shortly before or after the balance breaks. I believe if the roaring does happen, then one of the characters must cause it; therefore, the roaring would probably function as a manifestation of the internal conflict of the character. Overcoming this conflict would coincide with overcoming (at least one of) the titans, in this theoretical idea. Kris creating dark fountains seems like a form of lashing out, or potentially looking for an escape (which the dark fountains literally function as). In the dark world, Kris literally gets to play out the fantasy of being with a (probably romanticized) version Asriel, saving the world from evil. I have historically not been a subscriber to the evil Ralsei theory, but the above stuff provides some compelling support: potentially, Kris fears Asriel will be unrecognizable from the version they want to be with, and this fear begins to bubble up as his return comes closer and closer. These fears would be reflected in Ralsei, who would change to become more and more like what Kris fears. This distortion of Ralsei could push Kris even further, culminating in chapter 7, where Kris is about to cause the roaring when the real Asriel finally arrives. There's another idea. I think that Noelle, after losing another person they care about, could snap or lash out. We've seen what she can do, creating a dark fountain doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility for her. On the wackier end, what if the titans were just chill guys? A lot of the darkners seem to be pretty reasonable, so why not the titans? Or, if the titans represent each characters' inner struggle, what if everyone ends up fighting the wrong titan? The big thing to remember (for me at least), though, is that Toby said he wanted to tell a very personal story with Deltarune. I think that means this story is going to be very character-centric, so theorizing about the plot without considering how it ties into the characters might result in a faulty theory.

Chapter 5 could take place in Noelle's house! If that's the case then that would be so cool since the blogs about the catpetters glitches, the egg, Ice-e, and the secret door would all be forshadowing what we might see. Noelle also mentions she likes scary things in Chapter 2, so the fifth chapter being the scariest would work perfectly. Maybe at that point something might happen to all of the eggs we've collected (Left due to happiness) or maybe we could get to see who the man behind the tree is. This is probably the least likely, but it would be cool to see different versions of Susie appearing in this dark world assuming Noelle has anything that resembles Susie at her house

1:15:26 Theres a little more here. In chapter 2, it's mentioned that school is off the following day, which means chapter 2 is most likely a Friday. Since every chapter seems to be one day, this would make chapter 4 land on a Sunday, a day commonly associated with the church and prayer. Also, in the files, there is a SkyMantle item. Since chapter 3 will likely use the ShadowMantle (which isnt in the files), it is possible that the SkyMantle will be used in chapter 4. This equipable item defends against electric and "HOLY" attacks. I can't imagine any other enemy that could possibly use HOLY attacks than something church-related. As to electricity, this is more of a stretch but electric powers are used by Zeus, the main God in Greek Mythology (and Asriel, in Undertale's case). I think it's not unlikely that the electricity immunity has something to do with chapter 3, or its similar to the "Puppet/cat" immunity where only one of them is related.

I think that Ralsei is actually a lightener based on how he knows the layout of the school, how he travels from his castle to the cyber world, and how he doesn’t turn to stone in the cyber world like the other darkners do therefor I think he will withstand the roaring and fight the titans with the others (assuming the roaring happens) I also believe that if the the roaring doesn’t happen another dark fountain will be in the bunker making Dess a main character in this chapter

My take on all the weird things about Ralsei is that they are not a normal object, but they are the Dark World counterpart of the fountain itself. They might also be a shapeshifter with the ability to absorb knowledge from nearby people, which is how they know so much about everything and slightly changes in appearance over time to look more and more like Asriel. Also, the Roaring was probably in the manual.

I actually have an idea of the days the chapters will take place in, ch 1 was a Thursday, ch 2 took place on Friday and the chapters will take place on the following days, ending on Wednesday, and I have a bunch of ideas for chapter 4’s beginning, and I will give one. The chapter starts off like one and two where kris wakes up in their bed, kris goes downstairs where you get control of them, then assuming you don’t look around, you go outside and meet up with Susie, where a you walk around then go back to Kris’s house and go upstairs to figure out what to do that day, where Kris decides that they want to go to Asgore’s flower store. After Susie agrees and they go downstairs to convince Toriel, and when you talk to her you can choose to “not ask her” or “ask her”. if you choose to ask her, she seems very reluctant, but agrees to let them go as Susie has not properly met Asgore, and if you choose to not ask her, Susie grabs Kris’s face and puppet their mouth to ask Toriel while talking in a funny voice, and the same thing happens except this time, Toriel seems slightly amused, so then Kris and Susie go to Asgore’s, place, and a tiny bit after they get there kris asked to go to the diner for lunch and Asgore agrees, but when they get there the same thing that happens in chapter 2, where they see a dark void instead of the interior when they open the door, and Kris and Susie head in, and we see Asgore take a few seconds before going in, and he goes in because he thinks that the lights are just turned off, and when he goes in the real chapter 4 starts.

I personally believe that we already have seen the ending of chapter 7. In chapter 1 if you die, Gaster (or whoever is the depths narrator) will say it appears you have reached an end. and then asks you if you will try again. If you select no, he states "Then the world was covered in darkness" and a sad song plays. Now then consider that toby fox has stated there will only be 1 ending to this game. We have already seen the end. It's a game over. At the end of chapter 7 the game is OVER. The context behind the ending would most certainly be completely different, but it doesn't change the fact that it is the end. It solidifies that in the end you choices do not matter, not if you give up, or desperately do everything you can to change it. The end is always the same. But the important thing is not how it ends, but everything before it.

Something I’d like to bring up is that Rouxles and Lancer are still in your party by the end of chapter 2, so they will have to be in chapter 3 to some extent, even if they are just in Kris’ pocket the whole time. I like to think Rouxles is going to have a little part in all the chapters like he does in chapter 2, only to turn to stone every time.

Plausibility/likelihood of the theories aside, this was just a great video through and through. You clearly have genuine interest in this and it shows with how much effort you put into scripting/editing/putting together the video, which made it a joy to watch and listen to in chunks over the last few days. Good stuff! During the Susie "home life" discussion - I always got the impression that Susie was homeless, and may or may not even have living family. She may like boxes because she's relied on things like cardboard boxes as shelter for most of her recent life. After all, I don't think Susie's "house" is ever mentioned at all during Chapter 1 or 2, and it's certainly never shown or confirmed that she has any living relatives (i think). That would also explain why she is so hesitant to go into Kris' house. She may think something like, "I'm not meant for such luxuries like a cozy house" or "it's too good for street trash like me" or "I'm too dirty, I'd ruin the couch" etc. And it would explain why she is so poorly fed and hungry that she relies on eating chalk at times.

My theory is that the chapters will be sort of like a "reverse" Undertale. Chapter 1 corresponds to New Home, is a high fantasy like world (resembling the asethtic of New Home) centering around a King (Spade King/Asgore) and characters who upon learning the nature of the world have fallen into nilishm (Jevil and Seam/Sans). Also involves characters telling you a story (The LEGEND/Asriel's Story) and being forced to fight (Susie/ VS Asgore) Chapter 2 corresponds to the CORE, is a intense cybernetic themed world centering around flamboyant robots (Queen and Spamton/ Mettaton) and shy/timid characters (Alphys and Noelle). Features the YELLOW Soul. Spamton fits as a boss with the moniker "NEO" obssed with becoming a big shot, and Queen fits as a long legged boss of the area who wants what's best for the other world (Lightners/Humans) Chapter 3 corresponds to Hotland, being a lighter more gameplay centered area revolving around TV shows and various eccentric minigames and adventures (Toby has said this Chapter will be lighter and more gameplay focused). Involves characters who are quite shady (Muffet/ 'The Cathode Crew'. Would also correspond to Chess Theory, as Rook can also mean to swindle or cheat). If so, it would feature the PURPLE soul. I think Chapter 4 is the Church (on a Sunday, Spamton's lines, heavy religous themeing, would also correspond to Chess Theory being a literal Bishop) so it could correspond to Waterfall, a etheral and lore heavy area with a more somber tone. If so, it may feature a more serious antag and the Green Soul. This will likely be the saddest chapter so far (Unrelated, but I think this chapter will also be Noelle focused due to Rudy being at the Church, maybe we'll find out what's going on with Dess). The light hearted Hometown stuff, which seems more prominent in this Chapter as compared to others judging by the screenshots might correspond to Temmie Village? Also, Gerson will likely get some focus based on Alvin and his grave, which would correspond to Gerson being in Waterfall. If Gerson is focused, this might be a combo of both books and art? Chapter 5 corresponds to Snowdin, but I'm not sure where it takes place, but I'm most sure it's The Diner. If it's the Diner, This chapter will center around Jockington and Catty, and thus would have a bombastic and eccentric character (Jockington/Papyrus) and more calm and stoic one accompanying him (Sans/Catti). Papyrus's Puzzles may correspond to some of the arcade games, assuming it's like a Chuck-E-Cheese kind of place. I also think that, since Snowdin is where we get stuff like Sans Lab, we might get hints about Gaster in this chapter. The 'coldness' could correspond to the fridge. Corresponding to how we see Flowey before Snowdin, we might get a fight with the KNIGHT at the end of this chapter. This also corresponds to Chess Theory (with Chapter 5 being the KNIGHT). I personally subscribe to Knight Papyrus, so this works even better as a reference to Papyrus in Snowdin. If this Chapter introduces the Blue Soul than Knight Papyrus works even better here. Chapter 6 corresponds to the Ruins, a flowery labyrinth. I think this chapter will take place in Asgore's Flower Shop. This is definantly a strech, but While in Undertale, Flowey's breif monologue about the SOUL may also correspond to more hefty revelations revolving around it in this Chapter. (Kris may break free from us, corresponding to Chess Theory's Pawn) Chapter 7 will not correspond to Undertale and instead be something new like the Roaring or Bunker. Maybe I can say much like how we meet Flowey before the Ruins, here we meet Asriel finally?

It's always nice to watch some theory videos from time to time, and I got to say I really liked this one. It makes a lot of sense, actually. It feels like even this soon in the story, DT already has a few Chekhov's Guns that will be shot sooner than later.

I think jockington and catti (or was it catty? the goth one) will definitely be berdly-tier side characters. they're new characters that have character portraits, so they'll probably have some sort of role like berdly. maybe they'll be in chapter 4.

Could chapter 3 have the green soul mechanic in the secret boss fight? Like the jevil fight had the red soul in the battle, and spamton battle used the yellow soul (probably because the orange soul didn't have any gameplay mechanics) so could this make sense to some extent ?

In regards to chapter 3-5's dark world rulers, I think there will actually be two rulers for the next 3 worlds. I say this because if Chess theory holds up, there are two rooks, two bishops, and two KNIGHTS. Perhaps one ruler works against the Lightners, and the other works with them, considering Mike may not be as antagonistic as Spamton makes him out to be, thanks to the sweepstakes and qna clearing things up a little. I also think that a cowboy themed secret boss might be at least interesting if Toby decides to pull a Scott on us. Perhaps the sprites were somewhat of a red herring, where the meat of the segment itself was cut out, but the setting serves a new purpose as functioning as the Secret Boss' arena, in an old abandoned setpeice for a cowboy show, following the whole discarded motif. Remember how Seam said we'd require a shadow mantle to handle the next boss? Perhaps that could give us the green soul ability or something like that, or maybe it acts as a key item required to fight the boss. Again this is just rambling based off of my personal exposure to other theories so take it with a grain of salt.

Alright i finally finished this video. It was great! Had a lot of fun with it. I can't get enough of people discussing Deltarune. Especially when they get deep into speculation. Even if none of it comes true, its fun to think about. That's all that really matters in the end

I have this idea that I got from a dream but is still very likely, I think Chapter 4 will be a chapter about quests to help various characters with things, mostly because of the whole Papyrus stuff and Mettaton (or Happstablook as they might be called) requesting something entertaining, along with the rapidly growing Castle Town. Maybe the secret bosses will get a room in the castle, since they’re decently important.

I really think a chapter set entirely in the light world especially in the first 5 would break the whole flow premise and overall trajectory of the game. Fun light world side missions would be great but not for a whole chapter, cos it seems so obvious that the idea of the game is going on a dark world adventure each chapter and we have no evidence suggesting 4 would be any different.

@@BaloonBoy7 That might be part of the "joke", so to speak. The dark world for chapter 4 is rather short, which leads to Susie getting really annoyed at the lack of things to do today, so you go around castle town and the light world having fun to distract her from her boredom. A line like "Wait, that's it?" with the Susie surprised dialogue sprite would be a very Toby plot twist, and get players who skipped over the town dialogue at least a little invested in the goings on of the town, castle and light. It would also allow for more time to be used on 3 and 5 while still maintaining quality and progressing the story in a meaningful way.

@@derpfluidvariant0916yeah but like from a gameplay perspective that just wouldn't be that fun for a lot of people, and would be disappointing. like yeah for us who are interested in character relations n stuff that would be nice, but most people are gonna be looking forward to more dark world content with new characters a secret boss a regular boss returning characters character arcs interesting paralells to the real world all that stuff. while i do def think were gonna be getting more light world content i personally doubt it will really replace the dark world content at all but that is something interesting to consider and as someone who is into character relations and stuff i personally would like it i think its just a bit too bold of a decision for toby to realistically make when considering the wider audience of this game but idk maybe not

to be fair, while i'm watching this to half-listen and half-fall asleep, there IS a quote before a ch4 screenshot that says something along the lines of "after a tumultuous night, the sun rises softly"... or something along those lines. basically there is a contrast between night and day which seems so heavily imply/confirm ch4 will be in the day, and ch3 will be in the night. i really do like your theory of ch4 being at the church and involving rudy though thanks to that evidence anyways, really love this video! and love the editing style

The bunker plays a slowed down version of gaster's speech from undertale when near it, it's probably chapter 7, possibly an alternate universe version of the underground, the strange climate of the underground and existence of magic in it explained as it's a laboratory designed with the intention of being turned into a dark world, an abnormal location in the light world that leads to a place specifically designed with a massive core generating insane amounts of power, snowden exists to provide cooling, waterfall is naturally what must be between hotland and snowden to prevent snowden from melting or hotland from cooling too much.

1:14:41 I would like to contribute that, at least in a personal interpretation, Ralsei could be an analogy to the devil, he is a "prince of darkness" goat that wants to banish "the angels heaven", during the first chapter the darkworld has several things similar to the hell and, although it is not canon, many people believe that ralsei could have been a lightner at some point and since the lighters are almost treated as angels by the darkners it could an analogy to him being "fallen angel"

9:20 there's a very clear theory to explain why kris did this, you just have to connect the dots. kris is luring undyne into the dark world, it all adds up, kris slashed the tires so Toriel would call 911, and then kris turned on the TV to raise suspicion, and then opened the front door so undyne would go inside. you can also find out that the tires were slashed after kris left outside the window, because if you focus closely, this is when Toriel suddenly loses interest in cooking so everyone goes to sleep. this also makes me conclude that undyne will be in chapter 3's dark world i've realized it's a lot easier to come up with theories if you play the game twice.

If we go for speculation time regarding Mike, they could be a extended reference to Mike TV from Charlie & the chocolate factory. That character is also really into cowboys & toy guns, so thatd match with the possible discarded cowboy outfits. Not sure if that would make Mike the main villain, the secret boss, or a mini boss similar to sweet capn cakes, but it would be a fun reference!

If Woody theory is correct, this could be a big part of how The secret boss is made distinct enough from woody to dodge Disney but close enough for the reference to work. Overlay another reference to make a unique middle ground that has plausible references as well. Maybe have him shrink Kris and the gang to fight inside a commercial in the screen?

I feel like the game will have a similar structure to undertale In undertale you have Toriel, representing purple, then papyrus and sans (blue and light blue), undyne (green), alphys (yellow), asgore (orange) and then asriel/the ending in general, focused on our red soul In deltarune chapter 1, susie undergoes the most character development, and she's purple, and then berdly has a similar arc in chaoter 2, as he represents blue, and the next chapter will focus mainly on Kris, which is being presented as antagonistic but not evil just like the other two, and would explain why they're cyan in the dark world, so then the other cbspters would focus on Ralsei (clearing any suspicion about him), Noelle (completing her development), Rudolph (friends with asgore so fitting for orange and the only other character with both his own textbox sprites and voice), and lastly the ending This would also mean that the secret route would focus on killing every main character of each chapter, with us killing Kris since they know about the previous chapter's weird route, then Ralsei who would notice Kris being "different", then Noelle who, coming back in the dark world, realizes it wasn't a dream and tries to stop us, to then be avenged by her father perhaps This would also make Susie a very interesting character for surviving her chapter no matter what, strengthening her ability to defy our choices

What if Asriel comes back at the start/during/after the Roaring? I see him needing to be caught up with everything or coming back to say “So.. What did I miss? ☺️” then it goes dark screened then the game ends 👀
