I think ILNP Eclipse is worth the hype not because it is the only one of its kind out there, but because ILNP actually keeps it in stock. I know people tend to go nuts for things that they can't get anymore, so for once I'm happy that the hyped polish is readily available and you won't have to sell your kidney to pay for it.
Omg wait why did i think you already did this tag?? lmaoo my bad 🙈 But yay for doing it bc we love tag videos!! i alsooo still cant forgive Zoya for their price increase either ESPECIALLY bc they didn’t even swap their brushes!! And were still charging $2 per replacement like what ??? But lmaoo not you calling out my pruglies video 🙈 obviously love & respect your tastes for shades like Elysian Fields, Pineapple Have Peelings Too & Belugaria, I’m glad you can lean into those shades & pull them off! I’m also with you on wearing Elysian Fields at least once just to say you did it. Sadly it just didn’t work for me lol. Also! no pressure but i think you should do a video on your fav goblincore/swampy themed polishes, someone wanted to see that from me and I was like mmm Hillary would have a better selection lol 🧌
I can’t believe it’s 6 years since I did this tag video! I miss tag videos too. There’s a couple more nail polish tags on my channel if you fancy doing any more ☺️
For me personally, the appeal of the Lion siblings is the formula. It's so smooth and easy to work with. A lot of them could easily be one coaters. Also, they're the perfect amount of holo that doesn't distract from the shimmer and shimmer that doesn't cover up the base color.
Eclipse is the OG black-red multichrome, which was duped by a number of other brands. I wish I could express my feelings the 1st time I saw an ad for it on RU-vid when it was 1st released. My jaw literally dropped, and I was like "what is this SORCERY?!" I bought it as soon as it was released. Now we're just used to it, but I still remember my reaction to 1st seeing it. 🤯
I still hate reflective glitter, lol. I'm with you on Seche Vite! I like G&G's top coat, and lately have gotten into KBShimmer's "Clearly on Top" and Holo Taco's top coat.
I love that you mentioned Lacquer 22, I've gotten into them lately and got all my polishes from 50% off sales which is amazing 🤩 (also I totally agree with you about Synthetic Symphony please don't tell Steph)
This was a great rant! A great honest review! I love Glisten & Glow, and I thank the nail community for suggesting this product, plus I like her polishes, too.
I love the Seche Vite and Seche Vive topcoats. Mostly because they have refill bottles available. I have been fortunate enough to not experience the shrinkage issue. Then again, I change polishes every few days.
I ABSOLUTELY loved your white nail polish commentary hahahaha! I love love love white (I'm Latina) and it looks good on me... I'm not a huge fan of stark white, but but your are sooooo right! The teeth thing has me laughing over here! The Chicklets lololol I'll be thinking of this pretty much every time I do a white manicure from now on hahahah!
In the show Good Girls where they make counterfeit money, they use nail polish in the finish. I wonder if that has anything to do with the UP being used for currency rumors.
With BKL, I feel like I don’t really understand the hype for certain polishes or finishes until I actually try them, and then I’m like “ohhhhh I get it” 😂! But I mean, I don’t own every Lion sibling and I don’t think everyone needs to! Fun video! I like this tag, everyone’s been giving such interesting answers!
I agree abt moon cat, but I think Cirque colors is worse than HT. However, I know a much worse brand- Don Deeva. Some of her bottles are $18 or even $25. I don't own any of their polishes and I don't care abt that brand. I know pampered polishes used to review for them a few years back. I don't like how tacky that brand can get with the way they name some of their polishes so I avoid them. On a different note, I love Bikini so Teeny 😂. But I have come across other shades that are similar.
I get the frustration about the credit card fees. Someone pointed out to me that small businesses often have to RENT the equipment to process the card, plus up to 3% of the transaction. Restaurant profit margins are often as low as 10%, so that can be a HUGE hit to the bottom line. Should cash customers have to pay more to offset me using a card? I've gotten to be OK with the card fee as long as it's clearly posted ahead and I can choose to get cash first or think of the fee as a convenience to avoid the atm.
I've watched a few of these Unpopular Opinions vids, and I keep hoping someone will mention Deborah Lippmann during the Over Priced portion, because I want to understand. Can anyone shed light on why they are $20 each?
That's probably a big reason why they're not more popular than they are. I have exactly ONE Deborah Lippmann, and I got it discounted on Ebay or some such place.
I'm not a fan of white nails on me either , but for a different reason - to me it just looks like I painted white-out on my nails...like I did for a hot minute there in middle school lol
A trend I can't get on board with is negative space nail art. Like 1% of the time I think it looks cool, and the rest of the time I think it just looks weird and sloppy and unfinished.
Thank you ❤ I think many of these opinions are not that unpopular. It seems like one of the nail polish community’s biggest features is that “to each their own”. There seems to be something special for everybody.
Will you do a video of the polishes you feel are a dupe for Orly’s Synthetic Symphony? I have a good size collection (just over 1800 polishes) and I don’t have a dupe for it. At least not one I can think of.
OMG same with the metallic thing and I'm a metallic lover 😂😂😂 Omg I am dying CHICLETS 😂 I will never unsee the square extra teethy nail image out of my brain 😂
I feel EXACTLY the same way about Lincoln Park After Dark. I have and hate it but I won’t get rid of it either. I also feel the same way bikini so teeny. I don’t get the hype.
In defense of all these mainstream pics, at the time these polishes came out, the colors were considered unique and not done before, hence the popularity. Now they are seen as just average colors due to the sheer quantity of similar colors that brands have come out with.
Orly discontinued the entire collection that Synthetic Symphony was part of (Electric Jungle I think??) and I devastatingly realized it while watching your lava lamp nail art stream when I went to finally buy the green. My guess is they’re doing a neon release this summer? 🤞🤞🤞
4:05 the currency thing isn't true, I'm pretty sure UP just faded out because pigment production has improved and moved on. Also why does it have to be abbreviated UP, I have family that lives in the UP lol
I feel like the lion has more siblings that the Greek gods and I need a real description at this point not that its like a polish from years ago. Unpopular opinion: I don't like holo. It looks messy and cluttered and kind of cheap because it has too much going on.
