I’m so glad you mentioned the Mooncat bottles breaking. It was a big deal over on Reddit, & really surprising to see so many pictures of broken bottles. I have about 55 bottles, & the last sale was the first time I’ve received a broken bottle in an order. While they (MC) do have excellent CS, I won’t be buying from them again until I see people getting polishes that aren’t broken upon arrival or break while they’re being used.
Have you tried nailpollies?? Each polish has a handmade top made to look like the inspiration of the polish! They have tacos, drinks, burgers, ice cream etc. Very cute!
When I think of odd bottles, I automatically think of Nailpolies, with the customised caps for each polish. I would love to collect them, but they don't ship to Canada. We have a Canadian company called BZ Lady, and their polishes come in chunky rectangular bottles with rectangular caps. The caps are surprisingly easy to use, but if anyone does like them, they come off to reveal a normal round cap. BZ Lady, by the way, makes the BEST creme polishes, in my opinion. Virtually all their colours are one-coaters.
I really agree with your perceptions on gender inclusivity, there. When it's a "male" product they just make it pink and call it good. When it's a "female" product, they generally seem to actually try to consider inclusivity in the design.
The Kokie one made me laugh 🤣 also I believe the little ball in the pleasing polish does come off! One type of bottle I dislike is the kind where the cap is the same size as the bottle, like olive & june is a complete cylinder so if they’re in my drawers I can’t see the color at all🙈 I will avoid purchasing from brands because I don’t like the bottle or the label😂
I like the Kokie bottle because of the little elephant on it. The Nails Inc bottles (the weirdest shapes in my collection) are pretty cool as well. Their rectangular shape has an indent in the bottom. If you put your nail into the shape, you can see what the polish would look like on your fingers. Those Cliondah bottle are cute.
I still hate moon cat’s cap too.. it’s annoying and I don’t even find it *aesthetic* 😒 And yeah, their bottles/packing isn’t worth the price of the product over all.
There was one back in the day (maybe they're still around, I never hear about them anymore) called Bootie Babe and their bottles are a voluptuous woman's rear end. My weirdest is one I ordered from Korea (I believe, this was ~12 years ago) and it's a gold cat and the cat's tail is the brush handle.
@@hawktalon7890 The brand is Peripera. I looked all over trying to find any for resale and didn't have any luck. 😓 I got mine from a Korean shop on eBay in 2012. I just checked and that seller's shop is closed.

YES Fing'rs was what I was thinking of! I couldn't recall the name, thanks for the reminder! It looks like at some point they switched to round bottles for all of their nail polish, unfortunately.
I'd love to get some more of the 2000-era's shaped bottles, like that line of no name polishes that was shaped like a cat. Or Jessica's Bear In Mind line. Nailpollies is a more modern line that's cute, but they're way out of my affordable price range at the moment and I'd be wary of accidentally breaking the decorated caps. Some of the collections I've seen go for $23 before shipping. I don't often buy full collections due to not being interested in one or more of a given polish collection, so it would be an effort to hit the threshold for free shipping.
that Louboutin polish is an art piece as well as a polish imo its about the bottle and brand more that the innards 😻, also a self defense item haha I keep my HT/MC in their boxes so that bit I get too!
The Pleasing bottle reminds me of a Fisher Price toy that has been played with too much and the printed face has been rubbed off. Lol!😂 As far and swapping gender norms on products, there is a drill made for women by a RU-vidr Natalee at Designed to the Nines. She made it to fit a smaller hand, with a better weight distribution, but it’s still a powerful drill. And it’s not pink! It’s Tiffany blue and sparkly but not the point! It’s amazing!

I have some Nfu Ohs, maybe six. I won’t destash cuz they’re cool but I never wear them. I have two old BBW polishes, color drops. The bottles are round like a globe.
Love the idea of different bottles. Another pretty bottle brand I have is Emilie Heathe. Her bottles are like circles that come in a circular box that often gets stuck in the box. Really pretty but not really practical to use.

I do have 2 Marc Jacobs - similar issue as the Dior, miniscule brushes that are super userunfriendly and then I also think H&M has very unique bottles while aesthetically pleasing I find the rounded shape inconvenient to hold
