Hey Barry, I know this isn't really related to the video but I just wanna say thanks for being such a great content creator. In my eyes I've always seen you as a content creator who grew alongside his channel. As your channel became larger you definitely began to put more and more of yourself in front of others instead of just having a fake RU-vid persona. Your videos haven't exactly transformed my life in a spectacular way but I just want to thank you for helping me understand that it's good to be yourself and it's good to just talk about how you feel or what you're thinking. I wish you all the greatest in your future. Thanks Barry!
I'm at a loss of words. This was such a great video. Even more so for being well outside your wheelhouse! You're took kind with the compliments. It might start going to my head. 🤣 Can't wait to get in there and finish up the repairs. I'm really looking forward to your voyage, the stories that are going to come from it will be epic!
I have found myself going from loving the peasant quotes and now I'm just enthralled by the mindful and inspiring content like this. If you are ever in Dallas Texas i would be glad to buy you guys some food and drink.
@@BulletBarry ngl you are one of the content creators that got me inspired to get my Comptia certs and get out of security. Edit: I am a cheap bastard so get ready for that race bell feast lol.
God damn, you got a EJ22 in a litteral volkswagen van, lucky man. You truely lucked out on such a great engine instead of getting some beaten to hell falling apart volkwagen one from the 80s
What a massive shout out to Adam. Seems like such a legend and the perfect dude everyone should have working on a hippie van. Love the videos my dude if you are ever in Seattle would love to meet you dude!
There's always a certain sense of pride and accomplishment that comes specifically from getting something working again that, I believe, is unparalleled. Especially with something as complex as a car
Oh boy! Another one of my fave youtubers is starting a project car! From everyone else Ive seen you're going to have an absolute blast putting it back together. Watching yours makes me want to make videos when I finally get a project car. Keep up the amazing work!
Oh my god I'm having flashbacks to when I picked up my project 300zx z32. It was love at first sight but my god did she have a lot of issues. She had a new VG30de swapped in with 49k and needed all new belts, tensioners, idler pulley, haandbrake needed an adjustment, steering geometry was massively off center, Splash guard and fender liners were all falling apart, suspension was absolutely screwed and a few other things that I'm forgetting but in the end she's been brought back to life and clocked a top speed of 157mph. I still remember the joy I felt the first time we took her out to a car show and everyone was amazed that someone from this tiny town had found a 300zx. A survivor of the 90s that somehow hadn't been thrashed or wrapped around a tree or mutilated to all hell at drift events.
Hi barry!! Sorry if this is too late, but i just wanted to say that i'm proud of the progress you're making so far. I'm glad you're doing you instead of being someone else. I'm glad you're happy with you.
@@BulletBarry as someone that have read at least 30 papers on the matter, I think it would have been enough if the driver said "windows fully open, you in the opposite side of the car and facing outside" the last part is not a necessary precaution, because the airflow would make it impossible for the virus to travel from you to the driver, but is just the extra measure, the "just in case", but most people wouldn't know how this virus (and others) spread. In cars the most dangerous part is surface, not air, as a vector.
You've got fans all over the country, and we're here to help if you need and are close - or at least I know some of us are. Consider it your own network of volunteers.
hey barry its happening again. i have notifications on for you but the only videos that have shown up in my feed recently are this one and the console peasants quotes I only realized this now because you referenced your first van video. time to binge all of the videos i missed i guess :D
Wow, I haven't watched you in a while and I thought I'd have no interest in watching this video since im not a car guy, but man was this entertaining. Good job Barry!
I can't wait to see this project through. This is the exact type of content I like, and its one of the few of its sort that has good a good voice over and editing which makes it easy to consume. Once the project is over I will be sure to binge-watch the playlist again
Omg, Berry is slowly becoming a hippie his hair getting longer, he bought a VW hippie van trying to travel around the US. You know drugs are going to be involved in the trip, going to make videos about peace and love. Helping people from the kindness of your heart, then he's going to go tree-hugging making and wearing tie-dye shirts.
I need an adam!! I just bought an 86’ vanagon a couple months ago & it’s pretty rigged like yours was lol they’re very unique vehicles, doing my best to figure it out. this video gives me hope though. best of luck on your travels! i’ll be following!
@@BulletBarry Look up Chris Vallone, he rebuilds bugs and puts a lot of content on the channel, since your bus has a subaru engine it won't help but if you're looking for advice on anything else and buying parts, he has all the amazing info.
Buy you a box of tools, ramps and jacks. Nothing to fancy. Harbor freight tools will be good enough for 90% of home mechanic work. Ratchets (3/8 and 1/2"), breaker bar, enough End wrenches, cresents and such, Long nose needle nose pliers. etc. Even cheap tools can be a life saver and get you out of a bind. Even if you dont know what you need, just think "Im buying options" and ask around. Maybe even find some free tools from folks getting rid of low shelf tools. Also, Subscribe to EricTheCarGuy. He mostly works on Hondas and Acuras but his content and advice can be very helpful for home work.
So i love subarus, like alot, I drive a 1997 subaru impreza obs with that 2.2 in it, thats probably the best subaru engine you could have gotten in there, these engines are known to be stupid reliable, and if you wanted, you could slap a turbo on that baby and have wooshy noises for about 500$
I havent been watching your content in a while due to youtubes ass algorithim. It seems like youve been swerving away a bit from your life as a gamer more towards drugs and adolescent venturing. A bit like me after i hit clinical depression a couple years back :D i absolutley love your work btw. You inspire me alot barry, thank you.
you shouldn't have bought an autozone battery either, they are the same thing as Walmart batteries, you are also so damn lucky that thing did not catch on fire while you were driving it.
@@BulletBarry they are still a decent battery, it's just they charge to much for them, for what they charge for them here you could get a good interstate battery.
Hey Barry, I've been watching your content for a while. I don't really understand why you were so angry with that lady, she really didn't have any moral obligation to help you out.
