You have got be one of my top three fallout RU-vidrs, you helped me learn fallout 4 when I first started playing and now you’re helping me relearn fallout 4 again.
Wonderful to see a new video from you, Paul! It is always fascinating to see our old builds and where we are now. I look at some of my original builds and find myself critiquing my younger self on the builds! :D The AI voice is a bit weird, but I think it's a creative workaround for now until you get that new equipment. Looking forward to more videos!
When you mentioned carnival games, was reminded of one of my own builds. Egrit Marina Tours is a fantastic place to build out a kind of boardwalk carnival place. I built it out as a sort of entertainment/tourist destination for people from other settlers. The natural piers make great spots to put up little shops and games. But also one of the things I was most proud of was my bumper car arena. I took building with the dry dock, and glitched a metal ceiling to floor level, then put the bumper cars from Nuka World on the metal "floor" I created. You can also use the rug glitch to put the spawn point for fast travel to the settlement inside some of the existing buildings you can't normally access, then build in that area to put colored lights behind the boarded up windows that still will show a colored glow outside the building.
Greetings! Wow, Mr. Zone, this is your FIRST completed build?! I'm new to building in games, still on my first F4 run, and so still muddling my way around. You are definitely one of the very best teachers in the biz, and show & tell at a pace that even I can keep up with. 😅 I have decided to embrace the several sparky boo-boos in my settlements instead of attempting a 6-hr RW redo, and refer to them as my resident fireflies. :p :) Love this build, as it's both realistic and appealing, AND tidy! Mine are pretty much monstrosities, as I tend to probably way over-build every time. Well--what good are settlements that can only handle about 5 people when you're supposed to be rebuilding the Commonwealth, right?! Thank you for having the guts to share your first build; that's impressive itself! I have completed my Kingsport Lighthouse build, and I think that so far, this location and Egret Tours Marina are my favorite results. Rock on, Mr. Zone--SKÅL!!
Glad to see you back. Alot of my favorites personal builds were in thanks to things I learned through you. Really improved a game that I'd already been enjoying for years. Welcome home bud
I’ve learned a lot watching all your fallout 4 build videos for about a year and a half now. You definitely skooled me in the skooled zone! Watching your videos brought me back into playing the game once again. Thank you for creating all your amazing creations.
@@SkooledZone thank you for your reply. I’m also new yo RU-vid interaction and any RU-vid. I would like to send a video of my red rocket build but I don’t know how to do that in here as well 😅. I use to have Instagram but will be creating a new account, that’s the only way I know how. I’ve pretty much used all your skooled zone videos to make my player home/settlement build. If interested and if you have an IG account, I will look you up and add you once I create my new page and show my love and support there as well. Thanks again. Stay safe.
Some of my favorite settlements to build are the ones where there's an already existing piece of flooring to snap to, like at Abernathy Farm(left side of the porch), Tempines Bluff(left side of the settlers house, through the floor with either of the two checkered pieces of flooring that can snap through other objects), Outpost Zimonja(back left side of the upper floor), Finch Farm(right where the front porch steps are), Egret Tours Marina(upper floor, a piece of checkered flooring can snap to the small piece of flooring of the little outpost), National Park visitor's center(you can snap to a couple different spots, but where I start is inside to the flooring that the ladder is attached to), etc..., but my favorite settlement to build is probably Murkwater Construction Site(I turn what's left of the shack into my quarters, I pillar glitch concrete walls in, snap shack foundations to those concrete walls, then I build a 3 storey fortress on top of it), it becomes a Minutemen headquarters, but I build most of my settlements to withstand Settlement Ambush attacks, my favorite exploit, and the best settlement I've found to use The Settlement Ambush Kit at is Somerville Place, most of the time the enemies spawn right behind the house, box that area in and you'll be making caps, getting legendary gear, plasma grenades, and infinite steel and ammo to sell for shipments or whatever legendary gear you want to buy
Back to Fallout 4!!! I just started playing again hurray!!! Take some of my luck for the new year! 🎉 lots of hugs for your mom- went through that with my grandma several years ago. Be well ☮️
I didn't notice any voice change to start with, but as it went on I really noticed it, still acceptable until you get your new rig though and definitely better than no uploads at all from you. 👍
My Xbox has been out of commission for the past year or so, so I haven't been able to play my copy of Fo4 for quite a while. Whenever I'm able to get it fixed, I think this video might have given me some ideas to try on my own.
Hey! He's back. Hope the project you were working on went well & provides the opportunity you were seeking. Kingsport & the Visitor's Center were heartbreaking early on when building settlements because of the irreparable roofs. Maybe that's a lesson which was being passed along. Work with the flaws & incorporate them. If you don't want a settler in your bed, assign a guard to "your" bed. The guards never sleep, so while the bed is counted as used, it will never be occupied. Lastly - Pier 39, where Kingsport Lighthouse meets the bay to play.
Hi Skooled Zone I really love the way you did your build at the lighthouse , when I did mine it was awful == but your is the best. Just got done watching #62? of nuka world before this and OMG you did an amazing play and all that you had in your inventory , just gave me an better way of playing and to make sure of having items in mine == plus watching your builds & playthroughs So thank you for your ways of playing FO4😊
How are you not at 1 mil yet?! My husband and I started watching your *no mods shop class* like 4 days ago. We have already learned SO MUCH and are actually enjoying settlement building now. Whereas before it was tedious and disappointing how it always turned out looking bad no matter what, now our settlements are looking so much better and we’re enjoying the creative process. I wish we had found you years ago when we first started playing; you’ve really opened our eyes to the full possibilities of the game. Bethesda should be paying you lol.
I really appreciate that Samantha. I wonder about the 1 mil sometimes too. But it's probably because Fallout 4 is an old game. I'm hoping Starfield this fall jump starts the channel again.
I’m so glad you’re still making videos. I watched all your videos when I started building settlements anyways I’m now playing on the PlayStation five so I’m doing a new play through on fallout four and all of my old settlements are on the PS4 so now I’m rebuilding and it’s been about five or six years since I played the game and I forgot a lot of the chicks and tips that you taught me so I’m going back and re-watching everything hours and hours and hours I spent building and now on the PS five so far I have not had any frame rate drops or crashing not yet though I have yet to finish a settlement I’m just starting at the sanctuary and I do use mods mainly just for building but thank you for all of your tips and tricks. It really has helped me.
You: Oh yeah, there's that dead body I can't seem to get rid of. Me: *slowly closes door on skeletons in closet Anyway, great video as usual. I can't believe this is your first build. I'm blown away. I made Kingsport into a groovy ocean-view hotel and garden! Synth-Paul sounds pretty cool but hopefully we can get the true Paul back some day because you're the real McCoy. 😊 😜
Absolutely! Your “Synth voice” is noticeable and, for me… I miss the real Paul’s inflections. BTW.. AWESOME first build!!! Hope your hiatus was successful!
Here's the issue with the guard with the broadsider: he's scripted to stand at his work assignment, which is the guard post. The guard post is under the mesh floor. So yes, he sinks through that floor pie to stand on the guard post. In Fallout 4, with mods of course, you can turn off physics on decorative items so even if a deathclaw gave it a mighty whack, it isn't going to move. For PC users, if you get one of those bugged sparks (you were doing playing with the wireless glitch weren't you?) there is a mod which will get rid of them. Even ones that have become permanent. It's called something like Wirespark Bug Fixer. Also, that wireless glitch breaks power grids and those power grid errors will cause a lot of crashes in settlements. There are mods that will repair or destroy bad grids so you can use your settlement again. Just don't use wireless glitching in the first place, but if you do, there are mods to undo the damage.
AI voice doesn't sound too bad. A little uncanny valley, but sounds natural most of the time. What platform did you use? I've experimented with a lot of them. Also, the bowling alley looks pretty cool.
Bro that's insane... I was just listening with headphones and during the tour it totally sounded like an ai... like just on the ends of some phrases and a quite subtle hint of digital modulation in certain words giving that uncanny valley. Does he actually say it's an ai or did you just figure it out?
@@ripmurdock6975 Both, lol. I've worked with a bunch of AI voice cloning tools, so I noticed certain things. Yeah, the way some sentences flow together and also, anytime he tries to add humor. He did mention it a couple of times, like near the end when he talks about his broken mic.
Wow I never made anything near as good. I honestly don't have the patience and get annoyed with bugs and glitches but I think you just inspired me to do a little bit more than the bare minimum. LOL
The ai voice is odd, I hope your stuff gets sorted soon. It's always awesome to see a vid from you! Skooled zone is a must have any time i boot fallout 4
Pier 39 - San Francisco? I'd be interested in seeing how you wired up the pier/dock area - are there wires under the floor, or are they hidden somewhere else? It looks amazing
Very cool to see how you got the Build Bug way back. Love all your little details you put in for various reasons. I will say that AI voice was ...ummm... interesting 😅
I stopped building elaborate base’s because of trap homes. I used to go to other players base camp but it got annoying with the constant traps so real players have them outside. My fallout 4 base was basically how many automatic turrets I can pack in so I don’t need to defend it constantly and walkways to the sky without support. I hat Preston.
Awesome! Just saw that you're back! The No Mods Shop Class is great! I already knew a couple of tricks but your channel helped big time to expand my creative settlement building skills. I have to make a video to show you my "Star Destroyer" build that I did before I discovered the channel. It's a massive spaceship.
Hmm.... I do not like the AI commentary, though. In fact, I hate it. Sorry, buddy. Only got 15 minutes into this one. Can't listen to that robot anymore.
@@SkooledZone there are some good ones that are real funny that people have done with Morrowinds Degath Ur. There's also some not so funny ones. I feel like there are some real funny characters from The Fallout franchise that would be entertaining to have interviewed. For instance; the ever chipper ghoulified Moira Brown after the player set off the bomb in Megaton.
@@SkooledZone I would love to see se c.a.m.p content for fallout 76 on your channel if your not too busy that is but all the same I still love the content and after 3 years I actually loaded up fallout 4 just too build something cool
As you get into the settlement tour, the voice clone becomes more obvious. It has the exact same tone and cadence for every sentence. But it still (mostly) sounds like you!
Do you know whether any of your glitches are patched with the new update? I tested the main ones like the rug, pillar, and basic wire ant they work but do things like the floating turret still work?
Today I started to play fallout 4 for the first in about 5 years. I’ve totally forgot how to play it. I’ve started a new world to get hang of the controls then I’m gonna go back to my original gameplay. Edit: was gonna go back to my old game play but I’ve deleted by mistake 🤦🏼♀️ totally lost everything I grinded for and I was about 70% complete so I’m back to the start.. I feel sick thinking about all the stuff I’ve lost 😮
@@SkooledZone I messed about with the mods when they first came out but I prefer to it without, I thought I was deleting the modded saves turns out I wasn’t 🙈
a question. Is the narration AI generated? It all sounds like you until you get to 7:50 where it switches to AI speech, or text to deep fake speech. Go back to 7:30 and let the video run to see what I mean. EDIT: I skipped some of the video intro so missed the explanation.
You know, now it makes sense. Seeing all these amazing settlements and wondering how, to go along with your new method of voice manipulation recording...it would make less sense if you WEREN'T a synth😂😂😂😂
I found this channel a few days ago. I will see all your videos about fallout. Waiting for the new next gen update to start a new gam in survival mode.
Pier 39 - San Francisco. I think that's the one that is famous for always having all the sea lions on it? Scoma's on Pier 47 is one of my all time favorite restaurants.
“This is where I dump the bodies” 😂🙈🙈🙈 Said in an emotionless AI version of your voice made me laugh 😂 someone called you the Bob Ross of Fallout 4 building and I think they’re right 😂
I missed these videos so much. I recently started digging back into FO4 and I’ll never forget when and where I learned the wireless glitch!! I’ve been following you since about 15k subs and I can’t wait to see this channel grow more :) keep up the great work!
This is so relatable. I still have my first, unmodded and no-DLC, playthrough where I built up EVERY settlement. Really neat to go to visit them sometimes and see what I was envisioning at the time. I even mimiced Jug's concrete tower build and placed it on Spectacle Island. Good times~
Honestly, I found that much more interesting then the Finch Farm or Graygarden tours. Felt more like an actual settlement, which for me I guess is important.
Hi! I only started Fallout a couple weeks ago, specifically for the settlements, on a recommendation of a friend. I’m about 60 hours in and only saved Nick, if that explains anything (did do what looks like all the side quests in the north). Anywho… I love your settlements series, it helps a lot. I’m starting my first proper build at Abernathy farm with a large farmhouse. I’m wondering if you have any tips for 1) inside walls with doors and 2) fireplaces. I’m trying wood and concrete mix (for nice doors and windows) to give it a rustic, but not junky feel. But the difference in height is making it hard on the inside second floor (outer walls don’t seem to have the same issue. Also having a hard time snapping walls to make corners without taking out the floor below (a pain with the wood concrete floors). As for the fireplace I have one, but not really loving it. I still have not mastered the two glitches yet, so that is a handicap at the moment. So if you have examples of either in your videos to point me to, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for all you do!
I have a video of one of my first large-scale builds and had a look back at it. It was about 90% vanilla as I was doing the achievements at the time and completed them during the build. I never completed it though, as I went well over the build limit and had a lot of settlers. It turned my PS4 into a jet powered potato lol.
